  1. Hey guys just moved up to Clearwater Fl from over on the South East coast around Ft Lauderdale. Im used to catching Peacock Bass and Large mouth down there. Im having a hard time finding places to Bass fish in this area. Went to Kapok Park with no luck. I live close to Tarpon Lake but i only bank fish (no kayak 0r boat) Any recommendations would be great! I have been catching seat trout out on the causeways and thats alot of fun but looking for some freshwater action! Thanks Johnny
  2. Ive been using the berkley trilene smooth casting for a week and really like it so far. Its cheap so that a plus as well!
  3. I have a bag of white flukes and haven't caught a fish on em yet. Ive had success with other colors so maybe just switch it up to watermelon red or baby bass.
  4. Not sure about Maui Jim, but with Costas i had the green mirror which is an amber lens and preferred it over a darker lens. The amber isn't as good on bright days but when the clouds are out its easier to see the fish. I now have the blue mirror darker lens and i kind of regret getting it.
  5. Canals where I live are full of these fish. Does anyone else catch them? I've only caught a few ...
  6. I did some fishing near Vista View Park on Orange drive canal with no luck yesterday.
  7. I've been using spiderwire white invisibraid ultra cast with a flouro leader and its been great. I havent fished it without a leader yet so not sure about that. I guess im not familiar with Dicks sporting good sales, so why would the final price be $7.50?
  8. I have a ci4 3000 on The Pinnacle 7 ML F rod and its pretty darn light! Couple guys on here recommended the Pinnacle as i was having a hard time to find a nice balanced setup with the ci4! They were so right!
  9. So after a dreadfully long shipping process my Pinnacle Perfecta just came in! Put the ci4 3000 on it and the balance is great! The combo weighed in at 10.6 ounces! Maybe i need a new scale but that is amazing! Ahh cant wait to take it out! Hope the weather is good tomorrow!
  10. Thanks for the input guys, hoping a DSG near me has some Pinnacle rods in stock but i doubt it. Time to make a few calls ...
  11. So yea i just invested in my first Nice spinning reel, a Stradic Ci4 3000. I have been searching the forums to see what rods most people have their ci4s matched up with. I'm having a hard time making that decision. Its such a light reel that its hard t find a balanced setup. Any recommendations out there? My choices are a bit limited ... i have $150 in store credit at dicks Sporting goods but their selection is slim. I just picked up a Shimano Crucial 6'10 Med fast Action Jerkbait rod to test it out ... I will fish with it tomorrow to get a feel for it but just holding the rod it feels tip heavy with the Ci4 3000. So looking for some suggestions and advice ...I know every rod is different for techniques but i mainly throw worms, topwater and spinnerbaits. Thanks guys!
