  1. Back Water: I wish I knew you were going to fish Livingston....I live on the lake and could have put you on some fish. My team partner won the Thurday night big bass with a 5.25. He had another just under 5, a 4 and several 2-3. Not bad for 5:30-8:30 tourney. After the 2 5's. I told him to get off the spot. He went and sat in the shade and found some more fish. I was working and couldn't get home for either tourney. I was on TB on Wed. Launched at 8:30 close to Pirates. I ran new water and didnt find anything to get excited about. My buddy was in Housen, so i headed over about 11:00. I fished the south side and found fish in 16-20 fow. They were feeding on shad. Caught 2 on med diver then 4-5 on trap, then several on flukes and sencos. I keep slowing down and it increased my bites. Most fun was on a WR/White Ribbit. Man they hammered that thing!!! Biggest fish was 2.5lb, a couple around 2 then pretty much 20 dinks. All in about 1.5hrs. Wind was blowing across a point and helped the bite quiet a bit. Moved around the rest of the day with just a few short strikes. After 2:30, zero wind and blazing hot. I was done at 4:00 and was happy to be in the A/C. Buddy caught fish on sparse pencil grass that was in more open water. He said he caught fish all day and stayed till dark. Lots of fish, no size. biggest about 2.5. Talked to a guy that said he was catching the as far back into the grass as he could cast. All small fish. I went out today down by the generators. I found some offshore fish on a hump/drop off. I had 10-12, biggest about 3lbs. on a TR fluke. I caught several on sencos and chugbug. Most guys were beating the banks. Moved over to mouth of Indian after gen shutdown and had several bites on one dock. Missed a fish and caught short, one hung up. Threw a chugbug on another main lake point. Had several swirls but no hookups. Mosquitos ran me off the water sooner than I had hoped. I think the deeper fish are using the "old" grass and hydrilla that is out deeper. I have found them stacked up in two places with both being in the 14-20 fow with lots of dying (brown) hydrilla. I'll be out again tomorrow. I think i'll head to housen to see if i can find some bigger fish in the area from Wed.
  2. If you can find submerged willows in 6-8. Hit them repeatedly. Baby brush hogs martigras or watermellon red, tails dipped. Points are best. They are in the grass eating ghost minnows. i slayed them on a w/r senko. 1-6' water. Some fish at the old weedline in abt 14' water mostly on points for me. Veach and north of Blackforest as well. Not alot of big fish but 100 per day would be easy. Good Luck
  3. That is funny....my mistake. I have been up there. Didn't get to spend much time as the sun was going down. Low water, new lake and no Qbeam....not a good combo. Sounds like you have them penned up. I hope they hold up for you. I had a day like you described on Richland-Chambers back in 89-90. Prefrontal, we killed them on chrome/blue rattle traps. Probably 350-400 in 4 hours. Had an 8.5 for bb that day. Several doubles with 3 or 4's on front and back hooks. I was the day of a lifetime. We were prefishing for the next day. Blanked in tournement. Took my thumbs 2 weeks to recover. I think there is some kind of bacteria in their mouth that prevent skin from going!!!
  4. Wow, what a thread! I started reading this on my Iphone late last week and had to move over to the computer to read faster, just got to the end. I hadn't been on this site in 7-8 years. THANK YOU, CATT!! I wish I could suck your brain out and put it into a database. You are an asset to this sport, this lake and people around you. I'd like the share a boat with you one day! PS I love the not so subtle hints. I fished the McDonalds tourny last year and had never been on the lake. I'm working in Leesville and had gentleman tell me about a spot down by the dam and about Housen. He has a lake house on Southside of Caney Creek aka pirates, aka armyrec....(my assumptions). Why are there 2 Caney creeks? We caught fish from the moment we started, every place we tried, every bait we tried, every depth we tried. We fished from 6:00-8:00 Friday and Saturday, and till quit time on Sunday. We caught them all day long......Just not enough size. We didn't cash a check and has left a sour taste in my mouth ever since. We caught a couple that were close but with the horrible winds, didn't make the run or were bumped. After reading where Catt started the lesson and disecting where and how we fished, we were close. Not close enough. We tried to fish several of his suggestion, but the waves were way to high. Our best fish were caught in Housen and Sandy. I know a hour winner that was in Indian Mounds. I brought my boat to work with me and will get to prefish this year. Wife looked at me funny pulling the boat to "work". Oh...she knows!! Where is Sammy Gill....I know the name has changed. Thank you all for the amazing amount of info. I have had the paper map out for 5 days. Acmemapper is plastered from the very first way point....plus a few.
