Maryland's Who's who!
Hey, FB, a buddy and I were fishing near you on Saturday at BH! We were in his boat. I remember the orange shirt of your buddy. We first saw you near the west side of the bridge, around noonish or so. Next time I will say hello. Sounds like you did a lot better than us! I was throwing Senkos most of the day but was just getting constant bites from sunnies. Also tried crankbaits (4 different ones), spinnerbaits, topwater and plastic worms. Plastics were the only thing working for us, too. Might be out on BH tomorrow morning, not sure yet, we're trying to decide if we want to go there, Triadelphia, or maybe even Big Pool.

Maryland's Who's who!
Have never fished Loch Raven but I'm surprised they aren't almost done. I saw no signs of the spawn last week at Black Hills, but I did the weekend before.

Maryland's Who's who!
Thanks FB, I know I have a ton to learn about the lake. I'll keep going, seems to be the best option in this area. Bill: You can find the book here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0982396252/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00

Maryland's Who's who!
Bill: As I'm from Hagerstown, and am not very familiar with the parts of the Upper Potomac down here in Frederick and Montgomery County, I bought a great book that details all the wading spots from Harpers Ferry the whole way to DC. I can look some info up tonight if you want. I fished BH for two hours Saturday morning and had no luck with bass. I fished the area from the boat ramp riprap around to the left. Guess the spawn and the super moon probably didn't help, but I don't know beans about that lake. My first take is it's not an easy one to fish from shore.

Maryland's Who's who!
Guess I'll be going to BH tomorrow morning to bank fish. I've only been there once (not counting a time about 10 years ago). Do you guys have any advice? From my last trip it looked like the left bank (as standing on the boat ramp) has some good structure, but are there better areas to try? Anyone else going tomorrow that wants to meet up? Dave

Maryland's Who's who!
Went to Gunner's Lake after work yesterday and I got skunked First time I've went there and caught nothing. Left after two hours. I did see 3 other fisherman pull in some tiny 6-8" bass. Also saw a 3-4lb male guarding a bed near the south side fishing pier. This is my first year in Germantown (I'm from Hagerstown) and my guess is there isn't much time left to fish Gunner's. It's weeding/mucking up really fast and it's a constant lure cleaning challenge. Plus, during 80% of my casts with soft plastics yesterday, I could feel gunk on the lure immediately after casting and allowing it to sink a bit. Guess I'm going to be moving to Clopper and/or BH. Maryland's Who's who!
Thanks for the welcome, guys. TheKingFisher: I guess I've pulled out about 12 bass from Gunner's in 3 trips, nothing worth noting, but after 6 years of NO FISHING they were very cool for me. Also want to try the Kentlands. And I see a few VERY tempting roadside ponds along 28 & Gude down in Rockville, near work, that I want to try. Not sure if they are public though Brian: If the weather is as good as they say for the upcoming week I will be out, too. May try Clopper again. It's free to get in during the week I just lost 3 lures the last time I went thanks to the Beaver activity. I do love Gunner's for the easy access. Hope to see you guys out. I usually have a blue Nationals hat on and I drive a black camaro. Say hey if you see me.

Maryland's Who's who!
Hey all. Just moved back to MD after six years in AZ. Glad to be fishing again, have been to Gunner's Lake a few times and although I picked bad days, to Little Seneca and Clopper Lakes. Don't have a boat now, renting a townhouse in Germantown. Anyone need a bass buddy just let me know! Here's a picture of my fishing competition this morning at Gunner's. If you'll notice, there's about a 10-12" bass on the bird's beak! Tried to get closer but he flew off to the other side of the lake, was awesome to watch the bird hunting. Dave
