Shallow balsa crank
Okay, thanks for disclosing that, but there's definitely no way I will ever try it. I barely understood any of that recipe But thanks, I like to learn from guys who are at a much higher skill level than me. Just curious, you spray clear coat a lot during the process, what does that accomplish? And what does the heat setting do? Thanks for info ernel.

Airbrushed Markings
Question for all the painters....I am wondering how guys get the markings on their baits. By this I mean when they make a craw patterns or something and have actual black markings throughout the baits. Is this just a mask or are they doing it freehand? Also, if its a mask, anyone have tips on how to make one or what to use?

Choke Canyon
Can anyone give me some background on Choke Canyon Reservoir in Texas? Water clarity, cover type, early spring patterns, etc. Thanks.

Best way to clean up rusty cranks?
I have several falcon boxes and they keep waer out much better, the problem I have with them is that I dont think I own one that doesnt have one of the latches broken on it. But I do think they are definitely worth the money.

Best way to clean up rusty cranks?
This is probably one of my biggest pet peeves in life, much less bass fishing. Let a little water get in your box and hundreds of dollars worth of stuff is seemingly ruined. So this brings up a question, anyone have a trick on how to keep them from rusting? I've heard of putting rice in the box, so I guess I'm gonna try that this year.

First Baits
You guys are all too nice. Hope to be putting out some higher caliber as I get the hang of it a little more. Thanks for all the compliments.

Airbrush Seals
Thats the HP-CS. Now the question is, what do I do with the BCS once I get the new one? ;D

Airbrush Seals
Iwata Eclipse HP-BCS. I ended up taking it all apart and putting it back together. It seems to be working better now. I guess maybe leaving it in there so long loosened some stuff up, or just gave it a really good cleaning. Hopefully nothing is too wrong with it. If anyone has any ideas about what could have happened, let me know. On another note, M and some of you other guys, here is a question. The brush I have now is only a .5mm tip. I'm wanting to get another with a smaller tip and a gravity feed. I have been looking at the Eclipse HP-CS or the HP-BS. Anyone ever used them or have any other recommendations?

Airbrush Seals
Well, like a beginner idiot I left my airbrush in a windex/water solution for about 5 days when I went deer hunting. Forgot I had left it in there. Now the brush is allowing paint to flow even when the trigger isnt pulled back (obviously a double action brush). Anyone ever experienced this? Is it just an O ring replacement or is the brush shot? Thanks.

Anybody Thought of????
I think this would be awesome and have thought about it before. No one has ever shown me anything, so I think it would be cool to see how other guys do it.

First Baits
Here's my first batch of handpaints. Figured with all the help you guys have given me, I'd show you the product, no matter how embarrassing it may be. Had the resolution too high on my camera so I couldn't put em on here, sorry. Here's the link. http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x162/bassman1282/baits002.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x162/bassman1282/baits003.jpg

Shakey Head Jig Hook
I always use Mustads instead of Gammys. I think Gammy's are sharper, but Mustads are really really close and usually a lot cheaper. Plus, Mustads dont roll the point as easy as a gamakatsu. I dont know for sure, but I would think the 3/0 is going to be ok.

Watching My Line
Its amazing to me that no one on here has mentioned sunglasses. The color of your line does not matter as much as the quality and color lens of your polarized sunglasses. This way, you can actually use a line that fish cant see and still see your line. Changing lens colors under different light conditions helps, but a good all around amber or grey lens will work. Go ahead and use tracer yellow, orange, that bungee cord stuff they call cajun red, and power pro with no leader, I will come behind you with my flouro and catch all the fish that saw your line.

You're always there for me M.

Quantum Reels and Rods
Never used just the regular PT rods, but I have all signature series PT rods and they are absolutely awesome. I seriously like them better than most Loomis' I have owned, you can laugh, but its true. You cant go wrong with the signature series, but they are specifically designed for certain applications, so you cant use one rod for everything.

Extender
Any of you airbrushing guys know what extender is? What is its purpose and does anyone ever use it?

Part 1 Making the jighead
I always pour with the weedguard in instead of the pin because its always too hard to glue it in afterwards. Just a matter of personal preference I guess.

Airbrush Problems
yeah, i think it puts out at least 20 psi even when in operation. The "transparent" colors seem to spray a lot better than the opaque but the white is especially bad. I was having this problem before and found that tightening the nozzle helped, but that's not working now. I just have to figure something out, but it sure is frustrating. Thanks for your help.

Airbrush Problems
Alright guys, whittler, Big M, you others who airbrush, I've been having some problems with my Iwata bottle feed brush lately. The paint is seeming to have a tough time coming out of the brush when I only want a little bit coming out. If I pull the trigger all the way back it'll come out, but that is too much a lot of times. I've cleaned and cleaned but it doesnt seem to help much. My compressor, since I just got started about a month ago, is a Testors Mini Blue which puts out an invariable 35 psi. Is this a pressure problem? Something with the needle? Should I thin the paint? I really cant drop 150 bucks or more on a good compressor right now, so hopefully you guys have an idea. Thanks.

Blanks for painting
What would you suggest instead of the devcon for suspending jerkbaits so that they suspend better?
-
new crank and jerk baits
M, do you hand paint those black stripey things on the side or do you use a stencil and airbrush it?
-
Blanks for painting
Anyone know if and where I can get some lure blanks (no paint) so that I dont have to sand off the original paint of the ones I buy in the store? I am looking for rogues, wiggle warts, or square bills of almost any kind. Thanks.
