Airbrushing
What do you guys use for a topcoat? Just the standard gloss topcoat, or something else? Two coats ok or will it run too much?

Airbrushing
I just got started airbrushing and have an Iwata Eclipse bottom feed brush with a standard sized compressor. I have a couple questions for anyone with experience. It seems that my brush takes a LONG time to clean out after a color. When I pull the paint bottle out, a little bit of the paint drips from the gun and then when I put the cleaner bottle on, that color ends up leaking into the bottle. Am I doing something wrong or is that just the bad part of a bottom feed? As I said, it takes a long time to clean out and get spraying clear (and it seemingly never sprays totally clear), but is there something else other than the expensive "airbrush cleaner" I can use to clean it such as rubbing alcohol or windex? Can you spray water through it or is that a bad idea? Any other tips for spraying baits and just airbrushing in general is appreciated. Thanks.

Has anyone seen
LOL! Is that suppsed to be good? Berkeley hasnt made anything innovative in 5 years until this now, and I'm sure they stole that off someone.

Shakey head---what rod??
I use the new loomis shaky head rod. Always a green pumpkin zoom finesse worm on a lunker lure Shak-E-Head. Works great if you have to resort to it.

Bargain Baits...
I love the claim that you can paint your own or get someone to paint your baits so they look just as good without it costing as much as the high end stuff. You are either A) insane, full of it or C) you know something or someone i dont.

Best bait caster for $250
There must be a good reason for that.. If I had $250 to spend on a reel it would be the CH51MG nice and light, or even the new CU101D a little heavier but still a nice reel. I like these reels because of their overall size... My Scorpions are sweet also. Tight Lines All!!! lets hear what the good reason is reelmech

Bargain Baits...
first off, i want to take issue with the fact that a triton will outperform a bass tracker, but this may be because i think tritons are the biggest pieces of s#$t on the water. ;D Anyway, im not saying that you gotta go lucky craft for all your hardbaits and stuff like that. But how much sense does it make to buy a crappy renegade hardbait that 1), you have to spend forever tuning, 2) you have to change the hooks on and, 3) doesnt look nearly as good and still will probably not run right anyway, when you can spend 5-6 for a rapala or another brand that at least tests and tunes and puts good hooks on a bait. It doesnt make any sense to do that.

My Resume
heres the good: you have a very good start as far as the general format of the website. I really like the "sponsor me" page and would appreciate knowing what program you used to make this website. the Bad: the spelling and grammar is a complete disaster. nothing turns people off more than that. also, no one cares if you say you tell your friends what to buy. First of all, you cant prove it, second of all, its not really that big of a deal. bottom line is that you have to get some tournament credibility. Fish some BFL's/BASS/ABA and get some finshes, qualify for a regional, get a AOY finish. Also, if you are looking for purely bass sponsors, we dont care if you fish saltwater or bluegill or whatever. Here's the harsh reality, you arent going to get sposors with this website right now. It is a great starting point but you need stuff to back it up. You are very young, save your money and spend it on accumulating a reputation, even if it is as a coangler. Go to shows and talk to reps. Talk to tackle shop owners. This is the way to get an "in", and without that first "in", you cant do anything. I would be interested to hear our resident sponsor guru, JT Bagwell, weigh in on this site.

Best bait caster for $250
the fact that no one has mentioned a quantum PT Tour is unbelievable.

Bargain Baits...
THis is the best post of the whole thread. It is not very hard to see that most of you guys are not "hardcore" bass anglers...meaning you dont fish a lot of tournaments and/or spend a large part of your time on the water. Thats fine. But I would agree with this post that you should not just buy stuff because it is cheap and it LOOKS ALMOST as good as everything else. Guess what...it isnt. And someday if you get more serious about your fishing you will realize this and be dissapointed at how much you spent on crap you will never use. The guys you watch on TV dont use the very best stuff because they get most of it for free, because you can bet they dont get a lot of it for free. They use the best because it is the best....period.

Yamamoto Senko's and imitations
I would like to preface this by saying that I hate all senko type baits. I have no patience for them, but I believe that they catch fish so I make myself throw them sometimes. It all comes down to whether or not you want the best. Yamamoto Senkos are made with sand, they actually have sand in them, which makes them heavier, hence easier to cast. They also have a different sinking, wiggle action than all others. Sure, all the others will catch fish, but is it really that big of a deal to spend another 2 or 3 bucks to get the ones that catch the most fish? Not in my opinion, but i guess I dont throw em very much either.......i'm usually fishing like a man and leaving that crap in the compartment.

Airbrush beginner
Guys, i have always wanted to start painting my own baits just for fun. I know NOTHING about it and want to know if anyone could recommend a good book or site that gets really in depth on EVERYTHING I need to know. I'd really appreciate it.

Shame on you ESPN2
i love the fact that espn tries to grow the sport by only showing fishing on the WEEKEND when guys actually go fishing. And yes, Cindy is hotter than #$%@.
