  1. Quick update, I went out tonight for the first time with the flouro.....and..... WOW!!!! So so much more sensitive than anything else I've used. AND and the first trip with it I managed to land a 5 1/2 pounder.
  2. If u only knew the fish that you where missing........
  3. Tiny brush hogs and 2.75 tubes work well for me
  4. I have actually been using the regular bps hooks for awhile, but I'm starting to roll the points pretty regular with them. I got a pack of the heavy wire oshagussaney type but don't like them too much. Maybe I will try the ewg version. I generally don't like ewg as much, I seem to not hook quit as many fish with them for some reason. The bps hooks are sharp and affordable though!
  5. Technically not..... see my above post about sensation, it's a copolymer.
  6. brand/type/etc? just wondering what's popular now
  7. Allows it to be more manageable with less memory.

I use 5/16 or 3/8 only. Don't have any grass mats to punch and I can do everything I need to do with those sizes.
  9. I've actually used sensation for awhile with good results. It's low stretch and really sensitive. I've actually just spooled up with some seaguar flouro to see what all the buzz is about. I've been reluctant to change because their is nothing wrong with the sensation...aka if it's not broken don't fix it.
  10. No but fish them Texas rigged with great results
  11. I don't know about up north but I would assume its the same as around here. In the day the majority of the big fish will drop of into deep water and suspend, coming onto the flats and ledges in the night to feed. Try finding a creek channel that comes up by a bluff with ledges or flat. The bass will be suspended or on the bottom in the creek channel. BUT the water gets really warm down here. I don't know what the water does there in the summer but I would think the bigger fish would be on the same type of pattern. Also if that's ALL u know how to fish with try expanding your arsenal of lures.
  12. For numbers- baby brush hog Texas rigged For big fish- some sort of greenish jig with a paca craw trailer Topwater- spook
  13. First off all their 4+ lb fish where u at? Sounds stupid I know but if they aren't caught there on a regular basis u might be paddling upstream....... Second if they are some there try using a bigger senko. Bigger baits usually equals bigger fish. U won't catch as many smaller ones so u will have to be patient.
  14. Yeah there's really not a lot here for a bank bass fisherman. There are plenty of bass fisherman here but everyone fishes out of a boat. If I had time I would take u but sadly I don't....like I said earlier there are several good smallmouth rivers around but u are going to drive for a couple of hours any way to get to them
  15. I think both would work but I tend to lean towards the right one
  16. I keep them in their original packs and then put them in these by type.... Worms in one.....trailers in another. http://www.basspro.com/Plano-KVD-Signature-Series-Worm-Bag/product/42774900/225157
  17. Great statement, I rarely fish a carolina rig and usually will just drag a jig through those areas. For comparison my dad who I fish with often will fish a Carolina rig and I will drag a jig and we will "usually" catch about the same number of fish.
  18. Yes because when u are fishing at that depth/style u need to cover a lot of water
  19. Go used or if u want new get a carbonlite or veritas. I also fish tournaments with a guy who has a quantum smoke he really likes...I think the carbonlite feels every it as good as it and way cheaper.
  20. I don't lol! It's a never ending battle.
  21. Yup, always have one on me
  22. Pretty much everything I was going to say
  23. Maybe u are not being dedicated enough with other baits. I do this sometimes.. Put on a bait throw it three times and get the other pole back out again.
  24. Ahh I could see hitting the line or especially catching a treble hook on the net...that makes sense. Hopefully that never happens. I have pretty good hand eye coordination. I played sports and still do some. How u explained is pretty well how I do it. I'm not hanging over the boat trying to snag the fish lol.
