  1. Beaver is the dead sea, it's pretty tough fishing the majority of the time, especially from the bank. If u have time I would suggest driving down to the buffalo river, it's a blue ribbon smallmouth fishery and would be easy to fish from the bank. Also if your up for trout the white right behind beaver dam is stocked and can be fun.
  2. Ok I'm confused, why would stabbing or sweeping make u loose a fish. Ony time I use a net is in a tournament and there is no time to fight a fish until its subdued. Get the fish in the net s u don't loose it period. I generally hold the net in the water and let the angler pull the fish up until its in range of me and sweep the net towards it. I saved three fish Friday night by doing it this way, as soon as I would start to lift the fish the hook would pop loose.
  3. I got a carbonlite with micro guides a couple of weeks ago and have fished with it several times. Very good rod for the money. Very light and sensitive. For a reel I would get a pro qualifier or an Abu revo.
  4. I use it and love it. Thin diameter, low stretch (vs regular mono), holds knots good and is fairly good abrasion resistance. The break strength is way above what it's rated at too. Haven't done any tests or anything but I have pulled up several trees with 12 lb test.I Don't believe it's just xt and xl blended together. It's different.
  5. I fished the buffalo last year and did amazing! Caught probably 60 fish with the biggest being 3.5lb. Going again in two weeks. I have floated the kings but haven't fished it. It looked very good. I could see a lot of smallmouth swimming around and there were a lot of people fishing. I generally use a Texas rigged tiny brushhog and do very good on that
