The Rapala Original Minnow 11G with star foil. The first bass I ever caught using a hardbait was with one of these lures. This particular lure has never been fished and of all the lures in my collection, it is definitely my favorite.

Finally got my Fishmas Tree up last night complete with 108 Heddon Pumpkinseed ornaments and a BBZ-1 swimbait as a tree topper.

This is one of the best books on bass biology and it's a shame it's no longer in print. When I acquired my first copy of the book a few years ago, it brought back memories of a fish biologist back in Illinois who took me under his wing and gave me up close lessons on the internal structure of bass. This is a great book and would be well worth the price if you can find a copy.

You want to do some serious downsizing? Try going from a bass boat to a kayak. I went from 12-15 rods to 4-5 and from around 20-25 3700 boxes down to 3. I now find myself packing my boxes for specific lakes and conditions. In addition to my crate, I carry a small soft bag with up to 10 bags of soft plastics behind the seat.

In the case of this lure, Pre VMC means the lure was made before the VMC corporation took over Rapala. VMC took over management of Rapala in 1998 and listed the company on the Helsinki stock exchange. Lures made before this event are desirable by collectors.

Yes, they are slower in getting their orders out, but I've never had a problem with getting my orders. I don't think I've ever waited four weeks for an order, but then again, if you need it fast you can opt for faster delivery if you're willing to pay. I'm never in a hurry this time of year anyway. I take advantage of all the holiday sales, TW, Btd, etc.
