  1. In response to Traveler.... I guess the old adage works here: Id rather have something and not need it, than need something and not have it. No offense taken and no offense meant....
  2. Most of the places I fish, although DE being pretty firearm friendly allowing OC, are managed by DNREC and they prohibit it. Nothing my Gerber can't handle though....
  3. As I was returning to work form my lunch break, I get to the second landing on the stairs at my job and look down and I see a ribbon tailed grub! I got kind of depressed when it sank in that I still had 6 hours of work left. I picked that sucker up and I’m gonna use it on Tuesday. I don’t see any brand name on it and I doubt I work with anybody that would “roll their own”.
  4. I find they don't last long enough for the bass to get a shot at them! Mostly gobbled up by bluegill.
  5. Hey there my fellow anglers! As I peruse this sight and read about all the different types of baits everybody uses, it makes me wonder. Now don't get me wrong, I love it, being able to buy some new goodies for the tackle box everytime the wife decides its time to go to Walmart. But here's what I was wondering, does anybody just use the good ol $2.00 a dozen can of worms? Until recently that is all I fished. Now I mostly use artificial but I will use worms on one pole usually and artificial on my others.... What say you BR?
  6. What's wrong with the coloration and pinkness on the bottom? Stripers round here are uniform in color.
  7. I just wish we were allowed more than one a year... It would be better if it for one species per year, but its limited to just one award a year.
  8. Nice one!
  9. Delaware offers a program to promote catch and release, as im sure most states do, whereas if you catch a citation size fish you can send in for a patch. Here's mine from my PB caught back in May.

I OC, only because it does not require any special licensing.... I also am not too keen on publishing my name and address in the paper for all to see. My EDC is a G17 tuned to the 9's so to speak, lol BTW I am much more versed in firearms and firearm related things than in fishing and fishing gear, hoping to change that here real soon!
  11. Any size fish will do it for me, as long as I'm outside.
  12. 14 fish in 90 minutes, now that's nice! BTW, this is the second time I've seen this here, but what's d**n?

Yeah being a neighbor state I am aware of the no OC in a vehicle without a PA LTCF, its the dash or the passenger seat without a license to conceal here for us in DE.

I think the 300 AAC is a great little round! You can run it on the AR platform just by switching the upper, takes the same mags and everything.

How many of you live in open carry states and carry that way as opposed to concealing?
  16. LOL I can relate, that's why I can only fish on Tuesdays while she's working LOL
  17. The bass in my avatar is my PB as well. I too fish for pleasure.... Is this forum a good split or mostly tournament fishers would you say?
  18. Do you need to be fishing at the butt crack of dawn to catch big bass? I know people who start at 6. I usually start around 9, am I missing anythihg in those 3 hours?
  19. Tuesday, June 05, 2012 Went fishing today with my buddy Eric and his little boy. I got skunked! We both did actually, the only thing brought in today were a few small Bluegill. I set up my dedicated el-cheapo Walmart special carp rig with homemade ball bait with a boillie in the center on a hair rig. For those of you who don't know carp you just throw that sucker out and set it down and wait. I add bells so that I can walk the bank with my Ugly Stik hunting Bass. I tried what seems like everything and nothing was working. I used a wacky rigged Senko (wacky rigged with black rubberbands I use for my goatee), Texas rigged Senko's, Zoom trick worms, finesse worms, grubs, I tried a tiny floating long lure and a spinning bait that got no hits. The fishing was horrible today but the weather was perfect for a waterside cookout.
  20. Thanks for the encouraging words fellas! Like I said I am just getting started in serious fishing, and still have a lot to pick up. I'm sure I will pick up a baitcaster sooner than later. I saw a 100 dollar combo that seems to be a good starter for a guy like me at my Walmart, it is an Abu black max on a Abu rod I believe it was 6'6. I also saw just a pole for 200 dollars and was like I just cant justify spending that much on a pole at that this time. Hell thats a used gun! I have only ever owned 2 kinds of poles, my freshwater Ugly and a heavy saltwater set up so I have been forced to only use one pole for all applications, well I also have a very cheap 30 dollar combo for the carp that I dont care what happens to. Also have only really used nightcrawlers until recently so until I can get another pole I have just been re-rigging if I wanted to switch it up on baits.
  21. I am just starting out, and have only 1. I use a spinning on top of an Ugly Stik.... From what I have read on here I need to get a new pole, but hell I love the ugly stik... Ignorance seems to be bliss, for now anyway.... Lol. I never stay with one type of line.... I'm still learning.
  22. Congrats on the promotion!
  23. Did you get your crank back Logan?
