Icast Sneak Peek "rage Shellcracker"
I don't know what " *** " means, but I'm assuming it's something that's not supposed to be listed on here. Either that or the censor things is wonky . Seriously though, that soon! Dang! I've got one kidney and a part of my liver if anyone wants to buy them. $100 for both or $60 for each.

Fisherman Interrupted (Girl Interrupted....get It?)
I had to go to the hospital a couple of nights ago. I have a severe colon infection. The 2 antibiotics they gave me are kicking my bass. One of them says not to stay in the sun too long and not to have a lot of caffeine (which means I'm suppose to lower my coffee intake). The other one says it causes dizziness, joint pains, cramping, lower abdominal pain (which is why I went to the hospital in the first place), moodiness (I was wondering why I've been snapping my wife's head off), and nerves issues. Of course the pain med they gave me causes drowsiness. Those are only a few of the symptoms listed and I unfortunately have been experiencing all that I just listed. No coffee, even more limited mobility than usual, even more drowsiness than what I already am, and increased lower abdominal pain than what I was already dealing with. All translate to little or no fishing for the next 7-10 days. I'm not used to that. At the most I might go a day without fishing, but rarely. I usually get at least a couple of hours in. At 7:30 this morning I decided to be stubborn and went fishing. I walked the equivalent of 2 blocks to a place that has finally started producing bass for me and within 30 minutes I felt like I had walked to my favorite point (45 minute walk) and fished it for 5 hours. The 5-10 minute walk back was even worse. I feel sorry for my wife and son. I'm going to go nuts not being able to fish. Plus, I'm going to fall behind on my numbers. I do have a PS2 Mark Davis Pro Challenge game and I do enjoy it, but it's not the same. Please do me a favor and let me see 10-15 of you guys/gals post pics of 10lb or better bass you catch in the next 7-10 days.

How Do You Fish This?
What's really bad is that people like you and Gene have told me this (or other people) numerous times and I forget. I guess I'm looking for a reason why on some lures I catch bass and others I can't. Even same style lures (trick worms) by the same company but different colors, there seems to be a major difference in producing. What really blows my mind is trying to pattern bass when I've caught 3 bass on 3 different lures in 3 different colors in just a couple of hours. I feel like saying something like House, "Give them a broad spectrum antibiotic", which for me would be throwing everything in and just roll with it.

Rage Twintail Menace And 8" Recon
He could mean presentation and not lure rigging. Although, I wonder if you could rig it vertically.....Just kidding!

Rage Twintail Menace And 8" Recon
LOL! Is there any rage tail lures that only have one or two uses. They all seem to be so versatile. This one will be really hot swimming it, as a trailer, pitchin' and flippin, or just hopping it along the bottom. The bass won't know whether it's a bait fish, a craw, or a grub. So, they'll just inhale it just to make sure. Still think the shell cracker is going to be great. Sigh, I need about $200, a boat (or someone with a boat), and a completely different lake.

Ah, so right now technically speaking the hog should be alright to use. I just need to figure out which presentation they want. Thanks!

How Do You Fish This?
The problem I really am having, and should be for another post, is that I don't have one single lure that I can say is a producer. For example, the other day I threw one black/blue flake stick worm and a neon orange trick worm. 3 bass total in a day. But I can't say that I have any that get's hammered a bunch in one day.

How Do You Fish This?
The smaller version of the brush hog without the twirl tails are some what of a go-to bait. There's one bush i can throw it up under once or twice a month and get a bass, but I'm wanting to build my confidence up in others.

Icast Sneak Peek "rage Shellcracker"
I can't wait to get a hold of those. The possibilities are endless and the bass in my lake would eat em up for sure.

How Do You Fish This?
I can't tell you how many times I wish that I had just stuck with 4 or 5 colors: black, black/blue flake, green pumpkin, chartreuse green pumpkin, and maybe watermelon/red flake.

How Do You Fish This?
Up until last week it's been relatively clear. This week, however, it's been stained to dirty. What little bit of rain we're getting is stirring the bottom up some. I know that dark colors or really bright colors are for dirty and natural for clear. But where does bubblegum and tequila sunrise fit in?
-
How Do You Fish This?
Honest to goodness the bubblegum color is the only color of trick worm that I have that doesn't get bit at some point or another. I shouldn't really have brought up the trick worms. I merely did it as a reference to whether I suck at picking colors or not. I mostly was asking about the brush hogs. Today it has been mostly in the mid 70's so I thought the bass would be active for sure. But the barometric pressure has been yo-yo-ing today, so that could be an issue. Another issue is that I've been having some severe lower abdominal pain and it's kept me from doing much moving around. I probably should go to the hospital and my wife has been bugging me about it. Yet every time I go, they pretty much just get me in and out. Anyways, sorry for the rambling.

How Do You Fish This?
Yeah, I'm not one of those guys who throws/gives a pack of soft plastics away if he can't get anything off of them. I either keep trying them or I put them on the back burner for a bit (metaphorically). Then, I will bring them back out once in a while. Thanks to Glenn, I have 2 lures that have never produced for me and when I tried something he did a vid on, I'd finally get strikes on them. One was the Zoom Speed Craw on a 3/4 ounce c-rig. The other (just last night) was a bright neon orange colored Zoom trick worm on a mojo rig.

How Do You Fish This?
I bought a pack of Zoom Baby Brush Hogs tequila sunrise about 5 months back. I have yet to get a bite off of them. I've tried them on a football jig with a spring lock, on a weightless t-rig, on a weighted t-rig, and on a c-rig. Lately, it seems like I am horrible at picking colors. Everyone at my lake said to get bubblegum colored worms. I bought a pack of bubblegum Zoom trick worm...no bites (that was 6 months ago). A couple of people said that purple (and it's variations) soft plastics are good, so I got the Zoom red shad trick worm, Yum red shad ribbon tail (more lavender than Zoom's), and the tequila sunrise in the Brush Hog. Yum's ribbon tail are the only one to produce. The other 2 get no strikes whatsoever. So the question/s is/are am I picking the wrong colors or am I fishing it the wrong way? Just to clarify a little here's the pic of the tequila sunrise brush hog (which is really the one I am asking about): Sorry about it being a little blurry. I have a hard time holding the camera still. Thanks for any responses and I sincerely apologize if it's already been answered in the forums. I didn't see it, but maybe I missed it some how.

Short Day, Big Fish
Great job! I have issues with some of NetBait's soft plastics. While the Salt Lick seems to last through a few fish (not as much as Zoom), some of their other stuff seems to tear up without even catching a fish. Paca Craws are a very good example. Their trick worms are some what durable lasting through maybe 3 fish. On the flip side the turtles in my lake will go after craw imitation lures and rip the claws off. They also go after any top water lures, but that's another topic.

Who Said That Crap Doesn't Float?
I think I have figured out the mystery crap. I was walking the north and north eastern bank this morning from about 6-9 and I noticed that there were huge spots of weeds missing that weren't missing last week (and going back about 2 months). I'm thinking that due to high temps and low oxygen in shallow water the weeds are dying in bunches and when they do they float to the surface. Since they were growing pretty matted it makes sense that they'd float matted. The weeds have a real nasty smell alive, so I imagine they smell worse dead. After the rains we had last night, there were hardly any crud floating on the surface this morning.

Is It Slow In Your Area Right Now
Right now based on observation and a post someone else made earlier this week, I think it all has to do with access and oxygen levels. Hear me out. First, no two lakes or big farm ponds are alike which means the access I have may be more or less than what someone else who fishes from the bank has. For example, the best that I can surmise my lake is about 15-18 feet deep, but it's a small area in the center of the lake that I can't get to. Remember, no boats or wading allowed on my lake. Which also leads to the second point, oxygen. With the recent addition of massive amounts of sludge, the oxygen levels may be lower than usual. As we all know bass will move to where there's more oxygen. The deeper the bass go the further out they are (in my lake) the less likely I will be able to cast to them. I'm not saying that it can't be done, heck I just pulled my second PB just last week. But for the most part, the smaller fish seem to be half-baked and don't care about O2 levels. I've kept up with my numbers, but they've all been less than half a pound and most of them has been just a tad longer than my hand. That's not to say that skill and applicable knowledge is thrown out the window. I've only been bass fishing for 7-8 months now. I'm sure that if I had roadwarrior's, Big-O's, or Glenn's (off the top of my head) knowledge and skills I would be hauling in more bass and maybe even bigger bass. One other factor that may or may not affect anything, storms. We've been under isolated or scattered storms for almost 2 weeks even though we've only see rain maybe 3 days of that. So the barometeric pressure may messing with the fish.

This Is My Wife's Year!! New Pb, Awesome Day!
The length tells me 6-6.5, but that belly says 7-7.5. Either way it's a beaut. Good job! My wife is very supportive of my fishing, but sometimes I wish she would try it out. Heck, she has yet to actually watch me haul one in. The other day she walked over to where I was at to talk for a minute and then went back into the house. No sooner had she gotten in, I pulled a small one up. Go figures.

Who Said That Crap Doesn't Float?
I'm being dead serious. The last few days most of the fishable areas of my lake has what looks and smells like floating crap. Two days ago I thought that it would be a great time to throw top water frog. I might as well have been casting it onto concrete. Majority of it was relatively hard. But even the softer crap causes havoc with every cast covering any lure in a nice coating. I'm not giving up or trying to sound like a whiner. But does anyone know what this stuff is or how to fish it from the bank? Last year we had some stuff like this but it stayed in one area of the lake. I'm almost certain that bass are hanging around under it. I'm running out of tricks in my little bag of bass knowledge.

My Favorite Pond...dead (Pic)
D-A-N-G! I've been concerned about my lake lately. 90% of is shallow and since this massive heat wave has been around it's gotten shallower. The water has receded as much as 10-15 feet in some areas and it's dropped at least 2-3 feet. We've had storms go through this past week but except one severe storm, the rest has just went around us. We're getting the isolated and scattered t-storm forecast everyday which means we'll be lucky if we get to see it from a distance. Also, I'm seeing more and more crap on the water. Not sure what it is but it can't be good. There was this one huge patch that I thought a frog would be good on. Shoot, it was like throwing the frog onto concrete. There was no ripple or water movement when the frog landed or was retrieved so I'm certain that the bass didn't even know it was there. I managed to punch it one time with a half ounce weighted Anaconda, but seconds later it was crawling on top of the stuff.

Is It Slow In Your Area Right Now
While I will happily admit I've only been bass fishing for 8 months and fishing in general for about a year, I know I've got a long ways to go to be a good fisherman. However, my lake has a no boat or wading restriction and most of the water that is castable is only 4-6 feet deep. The deeper non reachable parts go as deep as 18 feet deep. I'm still keeping up with the numbers of the last couple of months, but the fish are smaller. Way smaller. Like less than half pound fish. Except that one 6 pounder I caught last week. Point is, I am doing everything I can to adapt. I don't think it's a fair assessment to say that some one sucks or to say that they aren't adapting just because they are have slower days. These triple digit days are having their toll and I've even heard some pros say the same thing. On a good note...We're supposed to start having upper 80's temps starting Tuesday here in Northwest Georgia, so I'm hoping those hawgs will get their butts into gear.

Success!
Sounds like you're getting the idea of finding the balance of analyzing the situation while still having fun. Good job!

Alabama Hawg
Your lake produces alot of bass that size? Do they put miracle grow in there? I haven't seen one like that since January. Great job!

Monsters Inc.......new Jersey Style!!!
Good job guys! I can't wait till the bass in my lake get back from vacation, or union meetings, or whatever.

What Are Your Favorite/best Soft Plastics To Use When Drop Shotting?
I use flukes, trick worms, curl tail worms (short curl), and just about anything that has action and floats. RoadWarrior, I know you said you use 7" Anaconda's, but I can't imagine there would be that much weight difference from the 10". So would that work as well? Or would it be too heavy?
