trolling motor
Been one heck of a week and a half. Bought the motorguide wireless 46 lb thrust motor got home yesterday after 60 mile round trip to bps and get home to find out that bracket mount is to wide to mount on front bow of boat. Would have to drill holes into plate and didnt want to take any chances with warranty and them coming back and saying I had altered the motor. Went back for another 60 mile round trip and get back and mount a 54lb thrust motor guide on the front of boat and look at the way they do the height adjustment and it doesnt make any sense. You literally have to take trolling motor out of bracket and slide it up and down and take the chance of dropping the darn thing in the water. Needless to say I am besides myself and ready to throw in the towel. Bought 160 dollars worth of 50 amp circuit breakers and 120 worth of 6 gauge wire . Running the front trolling motor on 6 gauge and the back with circuit breakers and big foot with the regular trolling motor wires. Need to buy more 12 gauge for front eagle finder and back eagle 480 finder. Extremely frustrated about trolling motor. Had the 40 lb all terrain minn kota and it burnt up but had the adjustable know that you could slide up and down for differnent depths. Am I missing anything on this motorguide..should be easier to change depths. Anyones suggestions could just save ole buzzbait. lol.

Electric outboards
Trying to figure out if these electric outboards are any good. I am looking at the briggs and stratton for around 1500 compared to the minn kota for around 2400. Are these things worth it and how many batteries do you have to run with this system. Have two 54 lb minn kotas on back now and having to buy new trolling motor for the front and thinking about around 54 to 66 lb thrust for front. If anyone has any information about these it would be appreciated....Ryan

trolling motor problems
Heres My Sign Right Killer :'( :'( . The trolling motor is minn kotas regular bow mount 42lbs thrust foot control motor. Will a inboard fuse outlet work. And what kind of trolling motor would you recommend. I have two 54lb thrust minn kotas on the back. Thinking about the minn kota with built in transducer. Have the eagle 320 and 480 finder. thanks Guys

Update on my jon boat project :) (lots of pics)
Nice boat Mike. Have the fisher model of your boat. Yesterday fishing my wiring and trolling motor burnt up literally. Supposed to fish in Lathem today stayed up until 4 in morning to find out some how trolling motor burnt up too. Wish I could find a plan to do this. I have the big foot things for back two minn kota 54 lbs thrust works great but need to know how to wire every thing up front. Had the front graph wired to the trolling motor which was connected back to one of the batteries. Have had situations where the wireing would get so hot that it literally helped melt terminal of battery. Didnt know if there was like some kind of housing you could connect the wires from trolling motor and graph to and it would house like a circuit breaker if it got to hot it would shut off...Any would be appreciated...By the way Mike I live on a two hundred acre lake in Monroe can trade fishing with you for tips..lol..

The current World Record Largemouth
Great post...took me ten minutes to read everything. My comments on a few things...T-Mike..I dont think that just because we havent accumulated catches close to the record it debunks it...I mean Mr Dunahoo caught a 17lber out of lanier like in the 60s and nothing near that has come out since...The gentlemen in a earlier post commented on the ecological enviroments of each lake...To me each lake has a certain span when it will produce top quality bass...If we did ever stock trout in our lakes it would probably "juice the population" but I dont think that Lanier would ever produce a wr bass...Its kinda like a seven foot people it just doesnt happen to often but it can and I think that any of the states mention have a chance at the wr in the right circumstances... To earthworm...great points, however pictures are in no given terms, are actual evidence of how big a fish is..Heck when I take a picture it adds 20lbs to my frame...My point is even with the technology of todays cameras can be ok at best ,how about pictures back in the 20 and 30. I dont think there was ever a picture taken of the fish, I think he played it up so he could get more equipment to fish...Heck when the fish was supposedly caught him and his friend shared one rod and reel and one lure..Think about that if you had to do that today..You might try to parlay that catch into a few more rods/reels and lures...but to question everything that happens is insane..its kind of like the oj simpson case..I wasnt there so its hard to make a solid argument but I know in my opinion the sob was guilty but no matter what i think the facts will never change....But I do know one thing whether it is true or not im gonna go out each time hoping that the next bucket mouth I catch is the wr...lol
