  1. All I know is that I watched a show with Hank Parker and his son and they fished water like this and they wore them out...They fished spinnerbaits with colorado blades the whole time the show was on..
  2. I am catching them on the 3/8 reeling with steady retrieve..It seems I am getting my hits within the first 15 reels and yo yoing getting hit on the fall..I have caugth several in the 3lb range..Having more success with the blue and purple skirt..red blade..
  3. If you you would have asked this question 6 months ago I would have said size..I am in such a slump now I will take anything that gets on the hook.. :-/
  4. Hey Guys..got a question..I live on a 300 acre lake in monroe georgia which is located minutes from Lake Varner..My lake they are planning to lower 4 ft to put a gas line across lake..My lake is heavily timbered which of course was flooded...There are stumps stickups and standing timber in the shallow end which is around 3 to 6 ft deep..My community is wanting to clean the stumps and timber out and I am heavily opposed to this..Does anyone think I have legitimate beef or am I just overreacting because I like timber..will it hurt the fishing or is it so heavily timbered the fish dont like it anyway..Anyones comment would be appreciated..
  5. My boat is all welded 14 ft fisher I think it is just to heavy for trolling motors anyway..but I wanted more stable boat..
  6. I am going to wait until they do tiller model electric motor with 20 inch shaft..I understand about hull speed..I have two 54lb thrust motors and they guys with three motors with same boat is much faster..
  7. I understand but the guys with three motors do go faster than the guys with two..I can attest..and ask senko 77
  8. Thats awesome..Georgia strikes again.. 8-)
  9. What a funny posts...10,000 cast and no fish..time to take up horseshoes or badminton.. ;D..Few things to add about spinner baits..Colorado blades for more lift..I agree with KVDS video about using these for large mouths over willowleafs..Can be fished slower and have more lift than willow leaf or indiana blade..if the fish get a good luck at the bait chances are they wont hit it..Caught nine on Sunday with KVDS 1/2 spinnerbait in chartreuse with trailer hook with biggest going 4 1/2 lbs..I also threw white willow leaf 1/2 terminator with no strikes..and chartreuse...I fish spinnerbaits probably 50%..It is a search bait and once you find like KVD says slow down and fish plastics or crankbaits..It is funny how the only fish you caught was slow rolled..I hate that lol..
  10. Ok..look at the name..lol..I caught 4 bass over nine pound last year the biggest going a 12.4. All but one of these were caught on the double bladed persuader buzz baits..I had many bass literally hammer this bait and break propellers off lure..Once you see one engulf a three to four feet area, no matter what you will be hooked..Always throw late and early..low light hours but if it is windy good bait to throw in middle of day..
  11. I think she lived and will be caught in 07..interested to see about this other fish..What lake
  12. Mattlures I appreciate your opinion about this..Thanks for your insight...Time to move on.. How do I get some of your lures? Thanks Buzz
  13. It was not like they had a perfectly clear view. It was overcast and still a little dark outside the fish was in about 12ft. They could see it it but sometimes its very hard to tell exactly whats happening. When your on a big fish like that you cant sit on top of it. The idea is to be as far away as you can but still see it. If your too close the fish will spook. I think it is absolutly ridiculous to assume they tried to snagg it. They had another 9-10 hours left. They were on the fish it was their shot. The fish was obviously locked on the bed. It was just a matter of time. Mac has already caught a 19 and Jed has caught a 21 both on beds. They know how to fish them. They simply misjudged the bite and set the hook. Eye wittnesses said the fish had already bit and they missed it before he actualy hooked it. Plus the jig he was using was a single hook. no trailer or nothing. This is quote from Mattlure above..dont know how to box quotes in Im from Georgia.. Mattlures if it was hard to see the fish in 10 to 12 feet of water how would some bystanders from I would guess 15 to 40 yards see the fish try to take the lure when these guys are swinging and missing..Did the bystanders have xray vision..Just because they swung and missed doesnt mean the fish is trying to hit the lure..Just like rolo said maybe they were tyring to get lucky and foul hook it outside the mouth..There is no guaranteed the fish would have stayed around nine hours..who knows it may have got spooky.
  14. Roger you are calling the dude either a lier or doesnt know how to read scales..What allows you to doubt or discredit someone but when it is done to you you want to say give me a break..dude come on..both sides of this argument have made good points..I am 33 years old, lived in Georgia my whole life did a report in the fifth grade about this..I am not 100% sold on Perry catching a wr bass in 1932, but I was not there..So when we talk about this there are not a lot of facts to whether this fish did weigh 22.4 but its in the books and we will have to wait until someone breaks this record..THIS RECORD WILL FALL IN CALI AND WILL FALL SOON..There is no doubt in my mind..I would bet the farm on it..In the Lake Dixon article I notice the last paragraph talking about the next wr fish coming from lake dixon or california because of all the stocking of trout..I dont agree with this but it is what it is..Buzz
  15. Come on guys..you all are about as naive as my first prom date when I told her I loved her for the big prize ;D..I am sure these guys love to fish, but you are telling me if they caught and not snagged the fish they wouldnt want to collect on the handsome reward that someone would receive if the wr bass was caught and not snagged would bring in..Come on..These cats want to get paid..Roger you keep making the guys to sound like some knights in shining armour but the bottom line is if they were so knowledgeable about being trophy hunters, they would have had everything in place but they got nervous when they to me intentionally snagged this fish..They panicked and made mistakes and wanted to put back in so they could really go back and catch the fish and not snag it..I have read in the last two years in major fishing magazines about the big bounty someone would collect if the wr bass would be caught..I am going to listen to the people behind the lines about this because I think if you caught the fish you would be like the subway guy jarrod that made millions for losing weight..YOU WOULD MAKE CLOSE TO A MILLION>>We will have to see about this when the record is caught and not snagged..Buzz
  16. I agree...This is a once and a lifetime situation..This will be talked about and discussed for a long time..Thats what makes this world what it is is different factions..We all have an opinion and this is a forum for discussion..if you dont like you dont have to read..shall I say More..
  17. Sounds like to me the intentionally hooked the fish wrong and the bystanders saw it and they knew they wouldnt get away with it..If they would have been by themselves I guaranteed no controversy, they would be getting paid..there is a difference between catching and hooking a bass intentionally like it sounds to me..If it is accepted as the wr then I bet we will never see that record broken in our lifetime..So far as cali having bigger fish once again if we stocked lakes with trout like you guys do then we would have mighty monsters also..Seems like pumping up is really prevalent in cali..barry bonds and fish..lol
  18. I am all catch and release..I released 4 over 9 lbs last year with the biggest going 12lbs, and Saturday caught one 7.7 and get her back into the water as fast as I could...I do not see the sense in keeping big bass, because first of all the taste like you know what and if you want to mount a fish you can get a replica and put the picture up underneath it to prove the catch if you must have one on the wall..However if someone wants to keep fish for food on the table that is up to them if it is in the legal limit..Avid agree with your post with just a little doubt..During the spawn it should be critical to let most bigger bass back so they can produce bigger bass for future of sport..There should be some law in place that says you must put back certain bigger bass back to help with the future..Just one country boys opinion..Buzz
  19. going for 13lbs.....my pb set last year of 12.4..predict i will catch it on either double blade white persuader buzz or super spook in about 3-8 ft of water right before a huge thunderstorm front.........Have a 7.7 in the boat caught and released and looking for more..And by the way the only fish I would ever mount would be 22.5...I am all catch and release.. ;D
  20. I have a fisher 14ft all welded boat...Sold my fisher f/s last year..18ft..fishing lanier no fun..want a chance to catch one of 10lbs every time I go and smaller lakes give me better chance..
  21. I was going to buy the briggs and stratton over the minn kota. the minn kota has to have a steering with it. meaning you need steering base. The tiller model of the briggs and stratton only comes in 15 inch transom depth. I need 20 and there 20inc is steering also...I would buy tiller b and s motor if i could..Ryan
  22. I agree..my two 54lbs thrust gets dusted by three trolling motors in our tourneys...
  23. Lbh I have two 54 lb thrust motors on the back of mine...When i kick the big foot on one side it goes and when i kick the big foot on the other side it goes even faster. The more trolling motors and lb thrust you have your boat will go faster.. I was going to buy the briggs and stratton etek electric motor but the tiller model comes in 15 in and not 20..need 20..electrik outboard..When we fish in the HVBA tourneys those guys with three trolling motors on back blow by most..It does make a difference... If you have the money I would buy the electric only ..it cost 1500..trolling motors are not meant to be power source..they are meant to troll..Going to look at the minn kota electric and the ray eletrick..
  24. Thanks Bob for the input..54 lb has plenty of power..lol
  25. Just bought the motorguide 54lbs thrust pro series..Like the trolling motor but make sure you look at the way you raise the trolling motor in the water..What I mean is when you are in rocks or shallow you may want to raise your motor or lower..You literally have to take the motor our of the bracket to move it up and down..It is a pain in the but..you take the chance of dropping the darn thing in the water...Mkota has a knob you tighten or loosen to move up and down..I miss that..That is the main thing to look at..The new wireless to me are kick butt..Try to mount one on my boat but the front mount plate was to wide..Hope this helps
