true.. been to huntsman 1 time and i couldnt find the entrance to the lake just parked on a street in a neighborhood. there wasnt many places to stand n shore fish.. mayb i at the wrong part of the lake?!

yep there is another 1 in that complex as well not as big but there is a mix of fish carp crappie and some largies

i know that place i fish there all the time. thats my honey hole. less than 5 mins from my house

lol yeh i might have to try catfishing there im sure there is some big one's in there if royal is holding big ones too.. i usually walk towards the dam and fish over there next to fallen tree

Been getting no bites at lake Braddock lately. And im there 2-3 times a week. What part have u been fishing

dang u caught a 7.2 out of lake royal? if u dont mind asking which part of the lake did u catch it and how long ago? ive been catching 1-1.5 pounders there nothing bigger.. i had a 3 pounder atleast on the line last night and got off 5 feet from the shore on a weightless t-rigged red shad senko

personal best came out of lake braddock around 4 pounds on a white and red with a red hook on a spinner bait

thanks for that post sam i didnt know that till now... i went out yesterday from 6-9 caught 1 and lost 2 decent size ones from not setting the hook good enough or my hooks are not sharp enough. any1 know good sharp soft plastic hooks?

Yeh I only shore fish so its hard for to get onto the river. If I had a boat I would b fishing almost everyday. So hopefully in the next yr or two I will b able to

Yeh I went yesterday and this morning caught a couple just some dinks not the size I usually catch at them. shakey head and wacky rigged senkos are the only things getting bit right now

i have a couple small ponds around here next to my work and never see any1 fishing them but they are hidden behind buildings

yeh thats what im going to be doing.. and i shore fish so for me to get to deeper water is hard for me.. ive been fishing from 7-9 but nothing but a couple dinks even after slowing all my presentations..

atleast i know im not the only one having issues getting a bite. the biggest i caught was 1.2 pounds in the past 2-3 weeks and its been the same lake i have been catching 2-3 pounders constantly.. i guess it looks like that the hawgs have slowed down and the chances for a big one are slimming down till its cooler again... what have u been catching them on?!

.. just been catching a lot of dinks on my plastics, jigs, senko's, and spinner baits and even on my cranks.. i know fishing has been hard these past couple weeks during the rediculous heat we had. but has anyone had any luck at all catching some decent size? if u did what was it on?

yep just keep practicing and u will find something that is comfortable and works for u. also take ur time and remember u are not going to get as many cast in as with cranks or spinners.. and if u are using a shakey head its pretty much the same thing as using a jig

when i fish a jig its usually black with a black and blue skirt and a matching rage tail claw. when the jig hits the bottom i usually pop it real quick and see if i get a bite. if not i reel in a little bit and pop it 2-3 times. if i dont get a bite after a couple pops i reel and retry. remember you have to b ready for a strike or a pick up. a lot of the time my bites come after im done popping or twitching the bait and just watch ur line u will see ur line moving when some has picked it up off the bottom

i did some shore fishing last night at a local pond around 7 was out there for 2 hours caught 7 nothing big in size around a pound give or take.. 5 on my spinner bait till i over casted and tossed it in the trees lol .. and 2 on my shakey head w/ black shakey worm.. but also as ur stated the bass were super warm.

Im the same way im using my spinners more than anything i catch more fish with them.. but if not getting bite ill switch to my shakey head with a black worm which never fails for me
