  1. I never got why you'd need something remotely that big for fresh water. Growing up on the ocean That's what I'd have on the back of the 24' Renegade I used to go Tuna fishing in. People amaze me
  2. Yea...those things are vicious. This will make you chuckle, and think about never touching one again haha. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_CmfIIHjqs

  4. nmv welcome to the forums. I fish turtletown a bit too and I"m also pretty new to the forums myself. If you're fishing in the concord area and want a fishing buddy let me know. I don't have a boat but I fish all around here. Turtletown I hear is good when you get out there. I only fish the shore and got a couple 2lbers from the pads on each side. But it's on my way home from work so let me know if you're around. I'll help ya haul that canoe around! lol Good luck and tight lines! I took a week off due to the extreme heat. I went to NHTI on Saturday morning with a couple 1.5-2lb fish. Lost a 3lber in some nasty downed trees. May go tonight, haven't decided yet.
  5. no problem at all. I fish it a bit on my way home from work. I got 2 sets of pads to work with on each side of the launch....but if it's busy I'm screwed lol. But yea....I'm sure you could pull some decent size fish out of there. I've seen big splashes on the ones that are feeding.
  6. Yea. The biggest I got was almost 3lbs....but I have heard of some 5lb bass being taken out of there.
  7. Caught 3 at NHTI yesterday. Great action. Literally walked straight into my spot. though I found I need some boots (wicked muddy) but yea good action with worms. Then I worked the spot right to the left of the one I started and caught 1 there. Went to the Merrimack around sundown (first time fishing it so I had to mess around to see what worked. I ended up getting one small smallie (my first in over a decade) But overall a successful day. Nev that spot on the Merrimack is right down the street from my house so that'll be a nice quick spot. Just gotta learn how to fish a river and what to use. Suggestions?
  8. I fish there from the launch quite a bit. Lots of pad cover along the shore. Definitely active and definitly helps to have a boat. I caught a couple from the shore last week.
  9. Gonna try the pond over at NHTI and maybe the Merrimack after work tonight. See how she goes!
  10. Any helpful material on how to make jigs. I hear of people using them with trailers. I have NO idea what they are talking about or what I need to get to make these. I've been fishing mostly plastics so I'm looking to expand my knowledge on this stuff. Thanks
  11. I've been fishing shore but I've been throwing into heavy cover of pads/milfoil and crap but I got a couple last week running weedless worms along the pads. Had to wrestle a couple out of the pads because they were fighting to go down low. But that's the only action I've seen has been in the pad cover. When I get to the outside of the pads I'll drop it right off the end pad and let it sink, work it a couple times then reel it in.
  12. Those are beastly smallies. Should be worth the trip up there. Next step is getting a boat to go out in lol.
  13. Nev-- Thanks for all the info! Yea if you are ever up here in the boat (or shore) let me know!
  14. are you talking about Hoit Road Marsh? If so where can I walk outside of the main area there off the road?
  15. I've heard the pond behind NHTI. Any more specifics on where to go on campus to get to it? Maybe I'll give horseshoe pond a try this weekend too.
  16. I fished Hot Hole once and wasn't too impressed. I may try it again. I haven't fished the merrimack and I probably should sometime, the iron bridge is right down the street from my place.
  17. Turtletown Aka Turtle pond is in Concord, Right off exit 16 on I-93. After you get off the exit you'll drive 3 miles down the road and you'll see a marsh on your right that says Turtletown Preserve. Just after that is the entrance. I just fish the boat ramp because it has lilypads on each side. The boat people seem to kill em out there.
  18. Sweet. Just let me know! Got another one tonight. bigger than yesterdays.
  19. Went to Turtletown again tonight. Got 1 that was between 2.5 and 3lbs. He had about a pound of weed on him when I pulled him in too! lol Lost a couple in the weeds that I couldn't drag out. Throwing weedless 5" senkos at the lilypads and moving them along the top slowly to moderately. Only action I've seen there to date is topwater over the pads.
  20. Shane I believe I met you at Turtletown yesterday. Thanks for that ragetail. Got a few swipes at it but I had to bail. Thanks for the info yesterday too!
  21. I just started bass fishing since I moved up here to NH. I've heard a few places in the area (turee pond, turtletown, hoit road marsh, turkey pond) Looking for areas I can fish from shore. It sucks not having a boat but that's what I'm stuck with. Just got my first largemouth of the season yesterday at turtletown but looking for some variety. Any info would be great! Thanks P.S. Anyone looking for a fishing partner let me know. availible all weeknights and some weekends.
