Missourifishin

I went camping and fishing this past weekend with some friends. We just fish from the bank. I have a spot I like between 2 submerged trees. I get alot of bites there, but I usually get snagged multiple times per day too. I was fishing with a live worm, just trying to catch us some dinner, when my line got snagged. This time, rather than breaking my line, I just set the pole down and cracked open a cold beverage. About 10 minutes later my pole started moving towards the water and I had to run after it to keep it from going in. Reeled in a channel cat that was about 4 or 5 pounds. Apparently he got my line untangled for me!

Has anyone been there lately? If so, how was the fishing, and do you have any tips?

I'll have to make a note of that. Sounds like and awesome show.

Hey everyone, I'm glad to be here. I fished alot as a kid, but have done very little fishing for the last 15 years or so. I'm 29 now. I'm just getting back into fishing and I'm loving it. Growing up I mostly fished for bass. Recently I've been fishing for catfish, mainly because there isn't much work involved. But I'd like to do more bass fishing, and learn from people who have more experience than I do. I have caught alot of tiny bass this year on live worms, and finally caught a decent sized one (Probably 2 lbs) yesterday. I would like to do some fishing with topwater lures, but I've never had much success with them. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
