Maryland's Who's who!
I fished Black Hill last Saturday. Only got one, a 2 pounder. I switched gear and fished for crappie. Got tons of small ones. I planned on keeping some for dinner. Put my stringer in the water, when I pick it up all of them has been chomped in half. I looked down in the water, a big snapping turtle was enjoying my dinner.

I've fished there when fish jumping everywhere but couln't get a hook up. My kids caught bluegills and crappies there. My neighbor said there are big carp there too.

Maryland's Who's who!
I was there yesterday. The canal next to the parking lot is covered with slimy green stuff. If you walk a bit towards the power plant there are some open water but I didn't fish the canal. I fished a small stretch of the Potomac pretty much by myself until the DNR Police greeted & suprised the hell out of me from behind.

Maryland's Who's who!
The recent DNR population survey confirmed why you all catching dinks at Rocky Gap: "Largemouth Bass were abundant, however the population was dominated by bass in the 9 - 11 inch range, and they tended to be thin. However, we did collect a few trophy Largemouth Bass greater than 20 inches. We will be exploring some fishery management options to improve the Largemouth Bass population."

I will be taking several youngsters fishing at Deep creek lake this weekend. Does anyone know a good shoreline or pier access at DCL?

Maryland's Who's who!
Nice bass MARsSPEED! Allen, I was at Black Hill this morning. Didn't catch anything! Water is a bit cloudy. I fished from the bank where it's flat today. The fish probably more at drop offs. I caught this last week at steeper bank. Lendiesel22, I usually have good success with crankbait, senkos & spinnerbait there. Try the night fishing starting May. Look for the dates on its website.

Maryland's Who's who!
I had good success with deep diving crankbait at Black Hill. I use several but the most productive one is Rapala Shad rap. In the past couple years, I gained confidence with spinnerbait. I noticed my most hits were at the bottom. So I cast out and wait for 10-12 secs before reeling in. Reel in slow, just enough to feel the vibration. Have fun spending that gift card Bill!

Maryland's Who's who!
I fished Black Hill on Halloween. The bite was slow. I managed to get 3 in 2.5 hrs about 17-18 inch.

Maryland's Who's who!
I've been getting skunked the last couple outings at Black Hill. I noticed the water is very low lately. Do they typically draw down the water around this time of the year? I can't remember it was this low last year.
