  1. I don't own it but have spent some time on it, overall its a nice boat, my only complaint is when you stand on it anywhere near the hatches the top flexes, as I'm sure you saw in the YouTube video the Guy made a rib, and also reinstalled all the hatches with plumbers putty, I would suggest doing the same but without the putty. Use something else, the putty will crack over time. Good luck!
  2. TNBassin was this Douglas? I saw the same thing the other day, just figured it was a wounded fish.
  3. Hey Jim how stable is the mini X? I may be interested in another yak, also where did you buy it? Thanks!
  4. What kind of things are important to the way you fish? Standing, storage? For that price you can't go wrong with a pescador from academy. If you can save a bit more you could find a wilderness systems ride which is a fantastic boat. Very stable and worth saving for in my opinion.
  5. Lots of options, what's your budget? What size/type of water you gonna be on? Sit in or sit on? Give us a little more info and wan probably help ya out.
  6. Hard to say really, I would think it would be safe to say in the 4 lb range. It was an awesome sight.
  7. So I was out at my local honey hole and decided to throw the spro, my plan was to throw in on the bank across from me and have it hop into the water. I have had some great blowups using that method before, what happend next I wasn't expecting. As soon as my frog hit the bank a bull frog was on it like white on rice, I popped the lure hard enough to evade the frog and into the water, didn't stop the bully, he jumped in after my frog. As I'm burning the spro back toward me a BIG bass came up and pounded that bull frog hard. Needless to say I really wish it had been my lure, but I didn't mind seeing such an awesome strike either. Just wanted to share
  8. ^^^^^^ bahahhaah 20 points for old school WWF reference.
  9. I don't know if it's just my local Walmart or not but all yum soft plastics are 1.50 a bag. At my store they had them all in a bin marked $1.50, I checked the price to make sure and sure enough they were. Bought waaay more than I probably need but can't be too careful. Hope it's the same with y'all's walmarts too!
  10. Typo....6.5 I meant lol
  11. Thanks guys, have had a hard time getting anything out of that pond. BUT, the pond right next to it gave me my new PB of 6.56 it was amazing UNTIL I noticed my camera was dead. Lol that's part of it I guess.
  12. Hey new Guy, I live in sevierville. Lets go fishing sometime.
  13. I've yet to find a j cradle that can handle the with of the 128T. I searched thules, yakima, and some off brands to no avail. Your best bet would probably be to use the blocks you have with the yak upside down. Or buy some crossbars and landing pads but those are pretty expensive. Best of luck man I'm 99% sold on this one as well.
  14. Well it comes with a styrofoam block underneath the seat, and another under the front square hatch. If I don't use expanding foam I'm going to definitely make a rib, its not too terrible but you can tell it flexes, not twisting so much. But honestly with the seat in its highest position I can't really see a need to stand as much as you might think. For the price its a steal I think. Any other brand and it would be at least a 1000.00 The plastic used is much better than their old materials. Have you seen the D10T? Its a heck of a boat also.
  15. Thanks for the advice and encouragment guys. THIS is why we fish. Lol
  16. I plan on getting the 128t in a couple weeks. As far as the downside is the weight, but other than that its pretty solid, I'm thinking of maybe getting some expanding foam or making a rib of some kind because it does have a little flex to it.
  17. True, BTW since the ponds aren't huge I just bank fish them, how accurate can you be without spooking the fish by flipping?
  18. Ok gotcha, that makes sense. Thanks for the reply.
  19. I have recently found a group of ponds that have some really decent fish in them, I can see them but have yet to catch any. The main reason is these ponds are very slimy and have a lot of malfoil on top. I want to throw a jig in the pockets but when I do all I get back is a ton of slime. The bottom looks to be made up of soil and thick grass. I am currently throwing a 1/2 ounce football jig with trailer. Is that what you would throw? I've also Been throwing a hollow frog but no luck their either. I really feel like I could get a good jig bite if I knew what to use. Any ideas?
  20. Hmm maybe that will be the way to go then. Thanks again!
  21. How big are you and your son? I'm a solid Guy at 6'1 265. I love the layout of this kayak but standing to me is a must. I understand its stable, but I'm a big boy haha.
  22. Cool, I fish Douglas lake a lot, area ponds and the French broad. Never fished louden, I fish 95% of the time from a kayak though. Tight lines buddy!
  23. I've been doing alright, I throw close to the shore because they seem to be really shallow right now. I live in sevierville BTW. Where in Knox do us fish?
  24. * spro.....dumb auto correct lol
