Offset Vs Ewg Hooks
Are there any good, strong light wire hooks out there? And I mean LIGHT WIRE.

Plastic Colors
You gotta understand that reds, blues, purples, greens....all end up looking black in deeper water anyway. In clearer, shallower water your color selection matters a bit more since fish can see your bait better. For night fishing, all you need is black. Just my 2 cents.

Rod Suggestions?
I have my black max 2 on a 6'6 medium Vendetta rod and it looks and fishes awesome. I'm about to evict my BMAX2 from that rod though, as I just got a new Revo SX gen 2 I got on sale. I really like the Falcon Bucoo micro guide rod, and I fell in love with the BPS carbonlite rods. Not sure if I can name sites on here, but one site in particular is having a good sale on some nice rods right now. PM if any of you want to know which one.

Rod Covers?
I use the BP covers as well and really like them. I wish they covered from tip to reel though, but for the price you can't beat'em.

Which Of These Reels
Can't go wrong with Shimano or a Garcia.

Shakey Head Questions
Try the Yum Pumpkin Ed jigs. I bought a 3 pack, and these things stand up great. I fish some Big Bite Baits squirrel tail worms, along with some f2 ribbon tails on it and it works great.

Grandebass Megatail Rattlesnakes. Anyone Use Them??
I really need to try out the big worms. I have some 10' yum ribbon tails, but have yet to throw them.

Plastic Colors
The color I use depends on the clarity of the water I'm fishing. For stained water, I tend to use black or a bama bug color, maybe some dark blue or purples. Dark colors in dark water give a better silhouette, so the bass can see them better. For clearer water, I stick with the more natural colors like pumpkin seed, Okeechobee craw, watermelon seed etc Maybe a worm with a little flash or sparkle in the flake. My girlfriend used to fish with nothing but a zoom cherry seed worm, and swore by them to no end. That is until me and my black neon F2 ribbon tails boated a limit the past 4 times we've gone. Now guess what she has rigged up?? I wanna see where this thread goes, because like you, I'm still learning too.

Shakey Head Questions
If you wanna know how to fish the shakey head, get on youtube and check out Jeff Kriet's videos on how it's done. I've put his tips to good use, and I've been tearing the bass up here.

Rage Tail Menace
From what I've seen, the rage tail baits are incredible. I saw a video on the smokin roosters, and made a bee line to bass pro to pick up a few packs. Can't wait to try the menace.

Grandebass Megatail Rattlesnakes. Anyone Use Them??
I was at bass pro today and picked up 2 packs of smokin roosters. One in a black blue fleck, and another pack in okeechobee craw. I had a pack of anacondas in my basket, but I remembered this post and figured I'd wait until my megatails arrive and see how they fare. I'm excited to try them, but no bait has me as pumped as these smokin roosters. If you haven't seen these in the water and the action these things have, hop on youtube and type in the name and watch the video. Looks to be a tremendous bait for all types of rigs.

Grandebass Megatail Rattlesnakes. Anyone Use Them??
I definitely will. Plan on picking up some rage tail smokin roosters as well. Should have a review up next week.

Senko Rod
I guess I will stick with the 6'6 fast. Thanks for clearing this up for me guys.

Cabelas
I really like BPS, but Academy Sports has a nice assortment of gear, and they have awesome prices both online and in store.

Big Worms
7.5 inch Yum ribbon tails are about as big as I'll go. I've found that size to be the best overall for all sizes of fish, and won't slow the bite down like a 10 incher would. When I go to Kentucky Lake next year, I will definitely be breaking out the big ones though.

Vmc Just Lost A Customer
Those light wire shakey head hooks don't require a hard hookset. Doing so will result in straightened hooks all the time.

Grandebass Megatail Rattlesnakes. Anyone Use Them??
I just ordered 8 bags of these from a site that has them for $2.99 a bag. They look amazing, and I've heard some great things about them but have any of you ever used them? Do they work well on a shakey head?? Thanks.

Spinning Reel Suggestion
I have been using, and have been blown away by how awesome the Okuma Trio 30 is. It has 10 ball bearings, and amazing drag system, and is incredibly lightweight. I paired it with an Okuma Tarvos rod, and it's amazingly well balanced. The Trio can be had for around $50 and the rod I got was around $32. Shimano makes good, cheap spinning reals, but for a 10 ball bearing reel with a great drag, thick durable bail wire, you can't go wrong with the Trio.

I Need A New Reel!
I saw a nice lew's speed spool combo on a speed stick at wal mart for $100 and it was amazing for the price. It was a RHR so I didn't get it, but I went online to see if I could just order it, and I think only 2 models of their reels were lefty.

I Need A New Reel!
I've been wanting to try out a Lew's, but all of the ones I want are only offered in a RHR. I'm a lefty, so Lew's doesn't offer much for me. For $129, you can't go wrong with the Gen 2 Revo SX.

Senko Rod
How big of a difference is there between a fast tip and a moderate fast tip?? I bought a 6'6 medium vendetta rod with a fast tip, but I'm thinking about going back and getting the 7 footer but it has a moderate fast tip, and I'm not sure what the difference would be. It's gonna be my worm rod and not much more, but I'm wondering if I'm better off with the fast tipped 6 6??

When Nobody's Biting
I love being out on the water so I never really get unhappy if I don't catch anything. It irks me a tad when the day before I KILL them, and then the next day they decide they are too good for what I'm throwing. I fish at Douglas lake here in TN, and the water levels are all over the place. One day it's up, one day it's down, and the next day it's waaaaay down. Makes fishing consistently tough.

Length Of Rods
I like 7 foot rods for most things. I bought a 6'6 vendetta, and I'm seriously thinking about swapping it out for a 7 because it just feels weird to me.

2013 Abu Garcia Revos (Stirring The Pot...)
The revo shop is a neat idea, but $50 for a carbon fiber handle is a little much.

Need Help Bass Fishing At Night
This. Black is my go to color at night time, as it provides the most visible silhouette. Big worms with tails that move a lot of water like a kriet tail worm worm amazingly well. I have a ton of success at night buy using a black neon yum f2 ribbon tail on a shakey head.
