  1. Sounds good to me! Nothing like a backyard fishing hole!
  2. I am with the above! Hate to give up the secrets of S.E. KS. but you are sitting right on top of them! GIT OVER THERE! Happy Releasing! (especially those KS pitt bass) H.G.

  5. My new Champion (to me) has a recessed TM pedal and I LOVE it!
  6. Sweet Fish! Congrats on the great day on water!
  7. IMO opinion the 2 blade is a good prop for more power and open water fishing (wind). The 3 blade is supposedly quieter and a little better at combatting the weeds but reduces the overall output. No expert here. Just my experiance. The TM props are simple to change and I carry both on board. Happy Releasing!
  8. We fished it. The lake was up and dropping. Still had good color in mid lake. Finally caught a good fish (my partner) at the last weigh in and we won 1st place for the 3:00 on Sunday! Was pretty cool. We were fishing some brush piles about 5 min from the weigh in with about 10 min left. He hooked her and we netted her with about 6 min left so we fired up the big engine and made the dash! his ticket said he weighed the fish at 2:59! Classic! Funny thing, if he weighed that exact fish at the 11:00 weigh in he wouldn't have even been in the money! All in all had a great time! Fishing was great for most (who knew the lake) and we did ok. Liked the lake alot! Happy releasing, H.G.
  9. Bummer about the 'wing'! It looks like she is going to be high and muddy. Most of the spots given to me are mid lake so I hope I can find some decent water.
  10. Heading to Grand to fish the Big Bass Bash. I am not normally a tournament fisherman. Matter of fact this will be my first official one. Post up if your heading there and if not - want to share any recent info with us? Happy Releasing, H.G.

  16. AWESOME CHOICE! CONGRATS F.O.M.!
  17. It really sucks! I am a little HOT at the KDWP that they are not doing more to educate, test and in general let folks know how serious the issue is! I am treating ANY public body of water in KS like it has them. I am washing my boat with diluted bleach inside and out everytime I fish in them. I think everyone needs to do the same, but this is only my opinion. These things are going to be everywhere! Sorry to come off topic! Didn't really mean too. I started another thread for this conversation.
  18. Good day KS fisherman, disclaimer: I am not an expert - just a concerned citizen. I just wanted to make a quick post about the importance of not spreading Zebra muscles to other bodies of water. I have been quite disapointed in the department of wildlife and parks efforts to get the word out about these SOB's. There are many bodies of water NOW in KS that have these things in it. They can ruin a lake in a couple years. There are many lakes that contain them and folks are not being told! Cheney now has them, Butler I have heard has them, if I were a betting man; I would treat any public body of water in KS as if they had them! It's up to us not stop the spread of these things! Please check out the KS website for proper procedures for 'cleaning' your vessel after fishing these waters. Remember - it's up to you to stop the madness! http://www.boatsafe.com/Kansas/zebra_mussels.htm THANK YOU FOR READING THIS! I KNOW IT'S A PAIN BUT PLEASE DO THIS FOR US AND OUR CHILDREN! Happy Releasing, H.G.
  19. RW - Great post! That was pretty good! Haven't fished in KS much lately. Buddies saying the Bass are moving up. Wish the weather would relax some! Happy Releasing, H.G. WORD ON THE STREET IS BUTLER HAS THE ZEBRA MUSCLES - PLEASE PLEASE TAKE THE PROPER MEASURES AFTER FISHING IN ZEBRA MUSCLE LAKES! THEY ARE SPAWNING RIGHT NOW (ZEBRAS) AND THE WAY IT HAS BEEN EXPLANINED TO ME ... NOW IS THE EASIEST TIME TO TRANSPORT THEM!
  20. Matt - Falcon Grand Challange is on Grand Lake in OK. It is kind of Jackpot tourney. One of the largest in this area (hence 600 boats). Lots of giveaways and some special rules like you can only fish with the sponsors products, rods etc. some funny random paybacks as well - for instance something like every 5th finish gets their entry back or something like that. There is a similar tourney minus the sponsor stuff called Big Bass Bash on Grand coming up. Happy Releasin, H.G.
  21. Rock and Central right here big fella. come back................. Welcome to BR!
  22. I am assuming it is up hill. I have moved my 18' and 20' ALL the time by hand. I park it in a warehouse and it's impossible to make the turn to her parking spot. So I unhook and push it around by hand. I kick the wheel on the jack the direction I need it to go and give it a push. Once it's moving in that direction it is pretty easy. Just my .02 Good luck! Happy Releasing, H.G.
  23. Cheap baitcaster reel? Look at the Quantum 'Burst' they are around 60 I think. I would consider saving a little more money. Once you hit 100 you can get some really nice these days. Good luck and.... Happy Releasing, H.G.
