Hello fellow boaters,
I have a little issue facing me this eve. I am going to do a some fishing tomorrow morn. I just pick my beast up from the shop. We disconnected the oil injection system to my 93 Evinrude 200. I now must mix at 50 to 1.
Here is my problem. The tank still has an unmeasureable amount of gas in it without oil mixed. My gauges long quit working so I don't know if they are full, 1/2 full or what? I do not know the size of the tanks. The boat is a 93 Stratos 201 proXL.
I tried to buy a pump but couldn't find anything for gasoline - just oil, water etc. - I bought one anyway- it attaches to a drill. I stuck the hose in and fired it up - when the gas got to the mechinism(sp?) is spewed out onto the drill and my hands. The little unit heated up too - so I thought I better discontinue use. I did fill a cooler with water and run the water through it and it worked much better?????
So....do I guess?? try to top it off and guess how big the tank is and dump that plus a little extra to good measure.
Dare I go mouth siphon? I have done it before growing up on boats and got gas mouth a couple of them I am currently considering that?
Suggestions?? I have a huge 15 gallon tank I am using to put the gas in as it exits the line. Want to fish tomorrow morn!!!! Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks,
HydrillaGorilla :'(
