  1. I have a '93 Stratos 201 pro XL with a 200 E-rude. I run that boat all over gods creation in whatever she throws at us and so far she hasn't skipped a beat! I have had her in some serious Kansas and Texas chop and we can run pretty well open. Great rough water design and ride. MY O2
  2. Sweeeeeeeee :)T Leeeee! Hawgatha Royal! [move]PICS PICS PICS PICS :[/move] Congrats!
  3. Nice work JAN! Sounds like a sweeeet ride !! I am sure you will have many great times on her! Will keep my eye out for pics! I have never seen a 21' sprint.
  4. My opinion- Like most everyone above has said- it really depends on the water you plan on visiting. If you are going to be fishing large lakes I would go with glass and go BIG! nothing under 18' will sufice if you are tackling big lakes on a regular basis. Nothing worse than spending all that money and time and getting to the lake only to not want to run because the wind is blowing. If you are going to fish small lakes and private waters - a tin boat may work for you. I really don't know -but I have never seen a aluminum boat over 18'. But with what they have been doing lately I wouldn't be surprised. good luck...I am jealous of your position!
  5. OK thanks so much Ben! I will connect the batteries to the respective positive and negative termanals just like I would normally. Appriciate the info!
  6. Not trying to hihack this thread - but I am in the same boat as above. My boat has an on board 2 bank charges I want to use for my trolling batteries. I just switched from a 12v system to a 24v system (with the jumper that goes from neg to a positive). I took one of the cables from my on board charger and was trying to connect to the coordinating + terminal and it sparked! I quit and unplugged my jumper and hooked it up as usual to my portable charger. I was very concerened hooking it up to a 24v system correctly. So I am still disconnecting my trolling batteries and charging them individually but I have an on board and really want the convenience. I am most worried about messing up my system - everything works great now (except the on board charging situation)!
  7. OK I am getting in on this. The best article I have read - http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/fishing/news/story?page=f_fea_bass_world-record_Weakley_25.1 states he was sight fishing in 12 foot of water (which I think would be most difficult to selectivly to snag in). Personally I like this guy. He seems pretty stoked to just touch a fish of this magnitude - not to mention he believes it was the same fish his buddy caught in '03 due to the one spot on the hawgs right gill. None the less - it is one heck of a fish story! Hydrillagorilla
  8. maybe she gained an ounce ;D!
  9. Good Luck everyone! Mine is going to be HUGE in 06!
  10. I have seen some very nice Stratos Boats for that #.
  11. laurasdad, I had the same problem. I purchased an aftermarket deal for deep v boats to attach a transom trolling motor (think it was in Bass pro). I took it and made some adjustments so it would mount on the flat bow of a jon. Then took the handle (top) off my transom mount TM and spun it so it was facing the oppisite direction so it would be easier to use. I have also seen a plastic piece that looks like it wedges in the handle up front on a jon boat - looks simplier than what I did but my handle is missing. Found this - this is the plastic one that wedges in the handle -http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0023818016806a&navCount=1&podId=0023818&parentId=cat21380&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat21276&catalogCode=IG&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat21380&hasJS=true Something like this would work if you don't want to take the top portion of your tm apart. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=1208&hvarDept=200&hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=2&hvarSubCode=4&hvarTarget=browse Hope this helps.
  12. I heard BD can film his entire season in a couple of weeks in his private hawg troph. With that said....who can blame him! Although I don't watch him anymore, he has long ago paid his dues and deserves a light duty semi retired fishing show.
  13. Thanks, Looks like I will try some Megastrike and Lunker sauce. Pretty wide selection of scents.
  14. I will add that I have a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
  15. Do you guys use scents? I use to youse them all the time and now I have found myself not using them. Is there one brand that is best? What do you guys use...if any.
  16. I put mine in all the time here in Kansas. We have tons of 15 - 100 acre watersheds thoughout the E. half of the state. Most all of these are private and don't have ramps. I put my 20' Stratos in 2 different lakes just last weekend without ramps. Key is finding the right bank. Not too steep, but enough drop so you can get your boat off the trailer without getting your tires in the water or mud, etc. I have had some issues on occasion (went too far back and stuck the truck) but nothing another truck couldn't fix. Good luck...it's all in the selection of the right spot.
  17. Just wated to thank you guys again for replying Friday and trying to help me out! I ended up topping them off and adding the appropriate amount of oil for each 25 gallon (?) tank. Then I put in a little extra to make sure. The lake I fished this weeked is too small for my 20 footer but I use it there anyway - love fishing from her and use just the trolling motor. I have to start the engine to get her back on the trailer and she fired up and ran great (for the short amount of time). Thanks again! Oh yes, no notables on this trip. Bunch of 1lbs to 2lbs. Hydrilla
  18. TP Jon boats are extremely nice. But I think the kayak will work fine-since you already have one. I don't know about using a trolling motor with an inflatable?? life jackets!
  19. OK Thanks guys. I never could get the gas to come out - Thanks MP for all your help. I just don't think I ever really got it into the tank itself :-/ I am going with 52 gallons....and top them off. Question....I have two tanks. Do you think twin 25's? Thanks! For helping.
  20. OK I found another 94 Stratos 201 Pro XL for sale used ...ad said 52 gallon fuel capicity. I think I feeling good about this.
