What he said below you! I was contemplating buying (4) of them. My gameplan ended up changing and got something different. My rant was/is Shimano never discounts in U.S. Retailers. The one time they do they mark down their best selling reel of all time $50 then launch a lower quality reel for more then immediately reset the MSRP on the better of the 2... That's just terrible business practice IMO. Personally I take it as a slap in the face as a loyal Shimano consumer that regularly shops in that price bracket.

I just pulled the trigger. Went with another 1001Xt and 2 Metaniums. First time ordering from this site. Thanks again for the awesome hook up you just save me like $400 lmao

I sent them my buddies bait runner 6500B to get repaired 3 times and they never fixed the issue which was the bail assembly they replaced everything else lol they ended up sending back a new model bait runner and a spare spool. So it paid off to complain about the miscommunications but still. Other than that I haven't had any issues with their service dept. always easy to get parts when needed and half the time they don't charge.

Haha no prob. Was just telling Hooligan I'm in the market for (4) reels. All the same, workhorse purposes. Really want 100ish size but metanium is out my price range for 4 lol. So I'm in the market none the less just happened to realize the pricing debacle. Surprised the Citica got a mark up I would be all over them day one. I may end up going with the Scorpion XTs or Chronarch Ci4s if budget allows it.

I didn't buy anything just an observation of the how the pricing drop coincided with the Citica release and markup.

Not too long ago everyone had the Curado for $129. Now the new Citica is listed on a few sites for $149. Sure enough the Curado is back to the MSRP. Not for nothing but I'd feel ripped off paying $149 for a Citica at this point. /rant

I never understood the point of a fore grip

10# FC on jerkbaits, crankbaits: shallow, medium and Deep divers for me. Buy 1,000 yard spools and cover multiple reels and save a ton of money.

+1 I have a Sustain FG 6000 (for saltwater) now after owning it a year I can't justify buying it over a Stradic.

About $40 more and I'd say I love my dobyns 685CB great for both Edit* a lot of guys like fast or extra fast rods for treble hooked baits. Why, idk. I've tried it and lost fish. Went back to moderate action and no problems.

Flipping as in pulling the line with one hand and dropping bait into weed pockets or pitching as in being 10ft+ away from target area? IMO 2 totally different techniques. Pitching I use 12#FC 15# if there's a lot of brush and rocks. Flipping I use 17-20# FC in clear water or 30# braid in dirty water.

That's awesome! We just don't have the co anglers and the consensus is a lot of boaters would rather not fish than be forced co angler. I think bass has good intentions with this but participation is down. If we could utilize the high school kids 16yo + then it may workout.

Do you guys have huge turnouts of non boaters? Here for example this past CBN 60+ boaters 20 +/- co anglers. Boaters don't want to be co anglers. So under the new format we can't have more than 20 boats because everyone has to be linked. It's basically making the state team stay with the same roster.

So with BASS forcing each state to make pro am a must it's messing things up here in CT IMO. You guys in other states are you having issues with this in how you will form your state teams. We have more than double boaters than non boaters and majority of the guys don't want to downgrade to non boater for required tourneys. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. Just sparking conversation....
