  1. Top water was terrible yesterday. We got one out of 200 casts between the 2 of us. Fluke and jig got us a good bag, placed 2nd, got a check. #pow
  2. Check ur guides with a q tip. If nothing's damaged there, did you pull out a birds nest at any time? That can definitely cause a few kinks/weak spots. I wouldn't blame the line until I ruled out all other variables.
  3. Ok so I'm not alone. I heard it could be because of excessive sun exposure. Who knows.... As far as the Gamma stuff. I've only used the little bit as leader on braid. Maybe 60 casts yesterday. Zero complaints.
  4. No not yet. Going to respool those reels this weekend possibly.
  5. Yeah the 12# is fishing fine, little to no abrasion it just turned white. The 10# is the abrasion prone line but it's still clear. All the rods have been on the boat deck simultaneously all the same outings. I don't get it. I'm more concerned with the milky color, idk how that affects the integrity of the line. I've heard about this happening but this is the first I'm experiencing it.
  6. yessir KVD night before every outing then a squirt throughout the day if I'm using one rod continuously
  7. I didn't pay more for anything I own neither. However I own about 30 Shimano reels and the only 1 I ever paid retail for was a Sustain 6000FG and bought it for retail using Cabelas Club points. So I basically got it for free. Chronarch Es never paid more than $150. Curado Gs never more than $90. Citica Gs never more than $75... Anyhow when this debate started I ended up with Scorpions for less than both the Citica and Curado.
  8. Hey guys, awhile back I told the world how much I was disappointed in Seaguar (the idiots running the company)and with input from all of you I ended up buying bulk Sunline. 7# 10# 12# sniper and 12# super natural mono So. The 12# on the 4 reels I put it on turned milk white within the first few outings and now feels "wirey". The 10#, on 3 reels, did not. The 10# I'm also using as leader material on my shakey head set up. It seems to fray extremely easily. Lost 1 fish due to a break off first cast after retieing on the new leader, it was completely frayed from uni to break point from weeds. As I forgot to bring spare line with me I used a friends Pline FC when I retied and no matter what I threw against, rocks, timber etc it did not fray at all. Had same leader all day only retieing between catches. However have had no issue with Sunline cranking. also haven't cracked open the 7# yet. Had a 50 yard spool of Gamma Edge in 10# from I think MTB or LTB. Anyhow brought that with me yesterday and used it as leader on shakey head. That line is awesome! No noticeable fraying extremely limp, great knot strength as I got hung up and struggled to break off, and didn't turn milky. Is the turning white typical with Sunline?? I have a reel with The same AbrazX for past 2 years on it and it's still clear. I don't get it. Also is it normal the 10# and lower to fray easy? I sure don't want to use the 7# if that's the case... Thoughts?
  9. I started the first thread on this. Curado was price dropped to $129 by Shimano then when they announced the Citica they raised the price back to $179 and put the Citica for $149. So... Anyone buying either for more than $129 is getting ripped off.
  10. yea I've heard it's hit or miss on early morning plugs. I'll be there tomorrow for Folds of Honor tourney and again on Saturday. I've been between CT River and Lilly past month and a half.
  11. So to the Op Shakey Head and Finesse Jigs have been the ticket. Buzz bait early am has had a couple strikes but nothing to run home about.
  12. You guys are lucky lol what you guys are all throwing, most of it wont work up here for at least another 3 weeks. CT is so far behind. It's mid June and I actually plucked a bed in a tourney yesterday. Lol
  13. Neither catches more than another overall. Having a hook in the middle vs Texas rigged causes the bait to have a different action. It depends on the fish, not the hook, do they want a subtle side to side wobble or a fast up and down flutter. In your instance they wanted subtle. IMO lol
  14. That one is like 3 1/2" and the one I'm thinking of looks just like it and didn't have a buck tail. I think it came out in the early 90s. if it weren't for a pike I'd post a pic. Doing a eBay search.
  15. It's the one that has the BLOOP that sounds like something out of a video game lol like 5"
  16. The popper they used to make, does anyone know the name of it?
  17. Seaguar InvizX and AbrazX are both good as well as Sunline Sniper which I'm currently converting everything too from those. Gamma is good too, little on the stiffer side from what I have used. Spider wires FC was terrible in the abrasion dept in my experience. Don't really have any others I've tried than that.... Actually tried a few of the FC 'coated' lines different brands, not my cup of tea, but not bad either.
  18. Texas rigged worms are something I haven't thrown in a few years and probably should start again. However shakey head has been helpful for me on tidal waters. From all experience over the years I like both.
  19. that's a awesome storage idea! They get rusty if kept for long periods of time in there?
  20. Any of you guys try jerkbaits at night? I have a night tourney coming up and want to be active to keep me awake. Lol
  21. Symetre on sale or used. Never fished a Pflueger, tried one Lews, CF300, decent reel but the reel foot is thick I guess it wouldn't fit on the 2 rods I wanted to try it on.
