When Do Start Throwing Topwaters
When is the earliest you throw topwaters? Specifically frogs. I live in N.Illinois and wanted to hear your thoughts or strategies. I always associate topwater with warm water, but what do you think?

Spinnerbait/crankbait Combo
Sorry the reply is so late but i have to decline the offer. Again it is really awesome for you to do that and it's too bad we couldn't make the deal. I'm just not one to rush into decisions, and that's probably a good thing haha. Thanks again though. -Austin

Spinnerbait/crankbait Combo
Man i've been thinking about this for the last couple days, and it's an awesome deal. I really want it, but i also need a pair of glasses. I'll decide in the next couple hours because i can only get one, but this is really cool and i really really appreciate the offer. What an awesome thing to do though Silas i'll let you know in a bit.

Spinnerbait/crankbait Combo
Thanks guys! Thats an awesome deal for the endurance, wish i knew about it about it a couple weeks ago! But i'll look into all those rods, and i definitely want a tourney pro because i know i can consistently get them for 120-140 on ebay.

Spinnerbait/crankbait Combo
I'll take a look at those, thanks

Spinnerbait/crankbait Combo
I have a decent spinning setup, and then a powell endurance 7'2"mh w/ a lews tourney pro 7:1. I tried to throw some spinnerbaits and cranks and realized the 7:1 is not very easy to use. So i think i just need one more combo to cover most techniques? I was thinking an endurance crank rod and lews 5:1. What do you think? Nothing too expensive though, any suggestions?

Daiwa Laguna?
My friend just got the laguna, and it is fantastic. It keeps up with my tourney pro, and costs much less. Awesome reel for the price

40Degree Highs
Thanks guys, i'll give it a try this week, maybe even today

40Degree Highs
Next week is our spring break here in northern illinois. Projected Highs are low 40's, a thin layer of ice from the last couple days has pretty much melted. I got a smallie off a dripshot last weekend, but looking to kayak fish in a little bigger lake. Looking for largemouth, any suggestions? We were gonna stick to dropshots but any tips would be great

How Valuable Is A 'nice' Rod?
I'll look into those! Maybe i'll pick the rod up tonight and get costas in the start of May

How Valuable Is A 'nice' Rod?
Thanks guys, headed to BPS to hold some rods Tomorrow. Not sure if i'll pick one up, but it is a good point that it will last a lot longer, considering i dropped my new aviators out of the kayak last year. Thanks!

How Valuable Is A 'nice' Rod?
I have spiderwire polarized glasses, the 15$ ones at walmart. So thats why ive been considering the new glasses. It seems like they would both be pretty valuable

How Valuable Is A 'nice' Rod?
I know that i've posted a couple topics lately but i promise this is the last, so how important is a nice rod? Basically i have 160$ to spend, and it going on polarized oakleys or a new rod. The rod i have now is a bass pro bionic blade 6'6" MH, with a lews tp 7:1. Would a new rod really help out? Or is the jump from a bps rod to a 150$ rod not enough significant improvement? Just let me know what you guys think! Looking at the crucial, rage, etc. anything 160 or less

Powell Rod Decision, Help!
Ya i think im gonna love the reel. Anyone know if the ducket rods, abu garcia verdict or st croix rage rods are as good? It just seems so hard to pick because there are so many rods at 150$

Powell Rod Decision, Help!
Thanks guys, yeah it'll be an all around rod so i'll check out the MH crucials, too bad they dont sell powell at bass pro
-
Powell Rod Decision, Help!
Ok thanks. And this is a little off subject but how do you think the Shimano crucial compares to the powell? Or actually any other 100-160$ rod at bass pro?? Thinking about using the rod trade in for a better deal

Powell Rod Decision, Help!
Well probably 3/8, 1/2 ounce jigs. 1/4 spinnerbaits, topwater, just about anything besides crankbaits and finesse plastics

Powell Rod Decision, Help!
Theres a bunch of brand new lews posted by the same seller everyday on ebay. There on auction but you can pick them up for 120-140 if your pacient

Powell Rod Decision, Help!
Help guys! I just ordered my Lews Tp 7:1 yesterday, got it for 135:)... But i wanted a powell endurance MH, well the M is on sale for 30$ off retail until tomorrow. Do you think i'll be okay with M instead of MH? It'll be an all around setup, and i live in illinois, so i wont be hooking into any 10lbers. I would prefer to spend the 30$ off, what do you think???

Cleaning My Reels
I'll put on a little more grease and see if its any smoother
-
Cleaning My Reels
How do you apply the grease? The reel butter i have is super thick and ive just been rubbing it on my fingers and then rubbing it onto gears, i dont think i put too much though
-
Cleaning My Reels
I've been taking apart my reels lately, just some pfluegers and bass pro baitcasters, but whenever i take them apart i clean them all out completely, then put on ardent reel butter grease and oil , put them together exactly how they came but now they are not nearly as smooth as they were. Any ideas? Maybe i'm not putting enough lube back on? Maybe the lube is bad quality? The grease does seem super thick. Any help would be great because i've got a tournament pro coming and am scared whether to ever open it or not
