The Most Effective Technique?
I would have to say a swim jig because I can catch fish almost all year with it and I can fish almost any cover.

A Jiging Question.
Frogs don't necessarily catch fish just because there is matted grass. Try throwing a swim jig in a color matching the local forage. I like a jig ranging from 3/8 to 3/4 oz. depending on how deep the fish are. Use a small 3.5-4" swimbait as a trailer and slow roll it over the bottom. The bass will usually hit it either right before it enters the grass line near the shore, or after you pop it off a few weeds. I actually just made a video on fishing jigs in grass! You might learn a bit if you watch it.

Best Way To Catch Lots Of Crappie?
Hey guys, on Saturday I went with my friend to a private lake his dad owns property on and we fished from a boat a bit. We caught a few decent bass, and some darn nice crappie. We want to catch a lot of crappie next time we go there so we can have a good fish fry. What is the best way to catch lots of crappie? I was using a 4" wacky worm but catching mostly bass. We caught all of our crappie off of a sunken rootball with some scattered brush around it. Any suggestions for catching crappie are appreciated. Thank you.

Xcite Baits?
I have some of the raptor tail jr's and the baby ubershads. They are a bit pricey but the durability is very good and they catch fish.

How Do You Become Good At A New Technique
I have a 3-step approach for learning new techniques. Step 1: RESEARCH. I read threads, watch youtube videos, ask questions, and generally anything I can do to learn more about the lure or technique. Step 2: Go fishing and use that technique, and only that technique. Step 3: Catch enough fish to the point where you have figured out how they want it. One of the most important things is to stick with it, even if you get skunked. The fish will be on a pattern that allows you to catch fish with that lure or technique eventually.

Pegging With A Rubberband
I used to do this with round rubber but after having to heat up a paper clip over and over to burn the expanded rubber out of my pricey tungsten weight, I switched to bobber stops and haven't gone back since.

10 Pound+ Catfish On A Spinnerbait!!
catch and release pond, and I wouldn't eat fish out of it anyways. That pond is filthy. Full of litter left by lazy bucket fishermen and its fed by a creek with fertilizer running off into it from people's lawns.

The Infamous Jig
There are a few times I won't throw a jig, but I do use them a lot. I don't use many bottom jigs because the fish in my local ponds are nearly always suspended, but I use swim jigs quite a bit. If the water is very stained or muddy I will throw a chatterbait or spinnerbait.

10 Pound+ Catfish On A Spinnerbait!!
yeah as soon as I set the hook it turned around and ripped 20 feet of 50lb braid off of my locked down reel...... ridiculously powerful fish. I thought I had a 10lb bass on but......oh well.

10 Pound+ Catfish On A Spinnerbait!!
Oh my god.......I went to my tiny little street pond with 2 rods..... I was slow rolling a spinnerbait and this thing hit like a TANK! I fought it for a good 5 minutes then dragged it onto the bank. I didn't even know there were catfish in there. Stupid me dragging it onto the bank......the wire near the head straightened out.

Anyone Using Mend It Or Any Other Plastic Glue?
why wouldn't it be? The glue is dried and presents no threat to anything.

Anyone Using Mend It Or Any Other Plastic Glue?
I'll let you guys in on a secret of mine that I got from flying RC planes. Get a bottle of "foam safe CA" and "accelerator" from your local hobby shop. Dab a bit of CA on then give it a squirt of accelerator, press the rips together and it dries in a matter of seconds. Make sure you get FOAM SAFE. The regular kind melts plastisol.

Best Way To Rig Strike King Bleeding Tube?
Tube jigs are threaded into the hollow tube and the eye of the hook is poked out, and then the jig is tied onto the line. You can also "Texas Rig" them. You will need a bullet weight and an EWG hook in the proper size. Slide the weight on, tie your hook on, and rig the tube. There are many instructional videos on youtube on how to texas rig a bait. I am not familiar with the Strike King Bleeding Tubes, how long are they? If I know that I can help you decide on what size weight and hook to use.

Missed The Spawn?!
Hey everyone, I saw a male circling near shore yesterday, and I assumed that it was one of the first to make a bed. For the past few weeks, I have been catching fish about 20 feet from the bank. The full moon was on Monday. People are telling me the fish in VA have been on beds for 3 weeks, and there are bedding fish in NJ! What am I missing? Did I miss the spawn or is my pond way late? There was a cold front on Sunday and Monday. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Rolled Hook Points?
After 4 years of bass fishing, I have never "rolled" a hook point or seen it happen....... I don't know what it even looks like. Anyone got any pics of a rolled hook point? Thanks.

Numbers Vs. Size
I fish a pond absolutely FULL of dinks, and I mean about ten fish every 30 square feet. Catching them is so easy and gets tiring after a while. Yeah it's fun, but it gets old after about 10 fish. I easily catch 20-30 in a few hours and I'm starting to look for other places to fish. There are no big fish in the pond. I checked the biologist's report a while ago. 228 fish from fry-1 pound 356 fish from 1-2lbs 42 fish from 2-3lbs 30 fish from 3-4lbs 16 fish from 4-5lbs 6 fish from 5-6 lbs. This is a gigantic pond that takes 20 minutes to walk around.

Softest Fluorocarbon?
Anyone know what fluoro is the softest? My XPS is a nightmare on my baitcaster and I imagine a spinning reel would be pure torture. I won't be fishing around rocks or wood or any cover other than grass, so the abrasion resistance can be terrible to have better handling. Just looking for something to throw light baits on my spinning setup. Thanks.

"mop" Style Jigs V.s. Regular Jigs
Well, after reading the responses a bit more there is actually another question here. Does the extra bloom of a living rubber jig's skirt attract more bites if fishing slower than a regular jig?
-
"mop" Style Jigs V.s. Regular Jigs
thanks JF! Just what I thought, just wanted a few extra opinions.
-
"mop" Style Jigs V.s. Regular Jigs
Just a quick question on fishing living rubber jigs- do you guys fish them any differently than a regular silicone skirted jig? It seems to me like you would want to fish them slower to let the action and profile do all the work for you. Thanks!
