  1. I throw a popper instead of a spook when it is choppy. Rain would cause that.
  2. Jigs and wood are my favorite combo and that catches me some pigs. A close second would be frogging in the thick stuff.
  3. There is no debate. These are a must-have for anyone who fishes buzzfrogs.
  4. Ranger Abu Garcia Strike King Lucky Craft Gamakatsu
  5. I'll have a yak by the time of the trip so I may be able to fish out of that. I would prefer to go on a bass boat for the first time though.
  6. Love throwing these when fish are hesitant to hit a spinnerbait because they have a much smaller pIofile. They are also more weedless when used with the right jig. You can also play around with the blade size and get some crazy erratic action by ripping it like a lipless crank. There's not much this style lure can't do. Here's one I just made.
  7. State- North Carolina Water Depth- 8 feet Lure/Technique- burning a redeye shad from the bank Structure/Cover- no structure, fall cruiser eating baitfish Weight and/or Length- 5-6 pounds, no measurement Picture- (in avatar)
  8. I swear, you catch the biggest fish Mr. Parks. WTG! I hope to fish with you someday.
  9. Tell him a fellow young angler said congrats! As others have said, I remember my PB like it was yesterday! It makes you want to fish more to catch more big bass.
  10. I would love to fish with Glenn. He is extremely down-to-earth and very good at explaining techniques. His videos have made me a much better fisherman.
  11. Good baits on a shaky head because you get very good hooksets due to how thin the worm is. I like how the skirt covers the leadhead as well. Looks like a little creature digging in the dirt. Also a good bait on a split shot rig.
  12. I recently started fishing jigs and I'm addicted for sure. First time fishing a jig got me a 3 pounder out of a river that I used to only catch dinks on senkos out of. Match the head style to your cover and you'll hardly get hung up IMO.
  13. Another vote for the owner twistlock flipping hooks
  14. Yes, topwater plastic work during prespawn! (30 fish yesterday on weightless rage grubs used as a finesse buzzbait)
  15. I was big into flying RC planes last year and that's why I missed a season of fishing but now I'm back in it and my planes get flown maybe once a month.
  16. similar.......yes. my mistake. I thought you meant that they copied the slammer. Well, if similar is a sin I guess most lures would be copies.
  17. The hammer shad was designed by JP Derose, and the swinging hammer is a redesigned larger version with a boot tail. The swinging hammer is completely different than the slammer.
  18. I can think of a lot of companies with all original designs. Ex. Powerteam Lures, Evolve Fishing, Xcite Baits....just a few off the top of my head.Opinion on havoc. You get what you pay for, and havoc baits sacrifice quality for price. I don't think there is a single pit boss I haven't had to boil to get the tails to run properly. I also think that they are more durable than most soft plastics and I use them when fish are really biting a beaver to save cash.
  19. A lot of good stuff in here. I realize that what I did was immature and I hope nobody thinks the worse of me. Just let the thread die now.
  20. Point taken. I will do that. I just got a text from him saying he got all the stuff I wrote on the list. Hopefully he can catch his first bass next weekend.
  21. not at all! I was just saying that I could not relate because nobody taught me
  22. I taught myself. I disliked getting skunked so I did research on how to catch fish.
  23. So, let's say they get caught once and the warden makes them release their catch. They will almost definitely be there the next day, except the warden won't be there to see it.
  24. there is one game warden in my area, and he is busy with reports of roadkill deer.
  25. The pond was catch and release, therefore they were breaking rules. I can't report them, the game warden isn't going to care about people keeping fish. No need to get offended. I was mad because I have seen firsthand what keeping fish can do.
