  1. How deep was the fish caught? 5 ft Did the lure contain rattles or have hinges? no, wacky rigged senko Was the lure a natural color (brown, green) or was it an unnatural color (chartreuse, orange)? green pumpkin with purple fleck If possible, what moon phase was your PB caught during? no idea
  2. i know of a few guys looking to join a bass club in the greensboro area. feel free to message me with infromation if you decide to make one
  3. I have recently discovered that ribbit frogs are great fish catchers in a pond near my house. i love using them but i have a few questions on rigging them. alot of time when i begin the retrieve they will turn upside down. how do i keep this from happening? also, what kind of hook should i use. ive played around with a few different types of hooks and have not found one that i really like with the bait. any help is appreciated, thanks

i have actually never seen this rig before, i had to look it up before i commented. what would someone recommend throwing on it if the lake does not support crawfish. i know that is not supposed to be a problem but i have never caught a fish on a craw type bait and i have extensively tried.
  5. yesterday i was fishing from shore with a few friends. we wanted a more relaxed way to bass fish so we decided to try out live bluegill. we never made it to bass fishing because the bluegill were so darn fun! not to mention all the bluegill were too big to put a hook through. the only place i have ever seen bluegills this big were in the bass pro shops tank. i was wondering if these were actually big bluegills or am i just so used to puny bluegill. this is probably the smallest one i caught all day, the bigger ones filled up my hand and then some.
  6. if you are looking to catch to eat, a piece of night crawler is going to be your best option. you can cut them into threes and use each piece multiple times. put it on a bobber with an eagle claw panfish hook and you should be ready to go
  7. as far as wacky rigged senkos go, most bass that grab it will not try to rip the rod out of your hand. as it has been explained many times before, most times you will see your line either go slack, get tight, or drift to one side. as for other plastics, if you feel a thump you believe to be a bass by all means set the hook. i think glenn explained in one of his videos that if you werent sure you could put your rod at 10 o clock and if you see your line move in a direction set the hook. happy fishing!
  8. Does anyone else's thumb itch after handling larger bass? i don't have this problem with small bass but when i thumb bigger bass my thumb will itch all day afterwards. Bigger bass' grind plates are usually rougher i was wondering if that had anything to do with it?
  9. im in a similar situation and the only thing ive been catching fish on is a ratl trap. i fish it pretty slow and since im in dirtier water i use red. if your water is clear i would suggest something slower though, maybe a jig or senko
  10. for all my craw shaking i use a Yum Pumpkin Ed Jig
  11. i cannot stand to fish jigs. i can throw a swim jig but i dont even count that really. ive never caught a single fish on a jig with a craw trailer, so i dont even try anymore
  12. ill be watching this thread, look like really great lures for the price
  13. 4 inch yum dinger in baby bass or green pumpkin 7 inch zoom trick worm in watermelon red
  14. sometimes i do better on ratl traps than RES but i will throw both. i think they fall different when your jerk and pausing them.
  15. I hate to admit it, but ive bought many lures solely because of where it was located on the shelf. it pays to have the best stuff at eye level
  16. Hows everyone early season fishing going? i know the weathers been rough but when the sun shines how is everyone making out? i just started to catch fish again after going almost a month with getting skunked.
  17. this will be my first full year bass fishing ( started late last summer ). i was wondering how do you know the fish have moved into prespawn. it may be a dumb question, i have no idea. let me know, thanks
  18. i am in kind of a pickle at the moment. i have been using every "winter bait" i can think of. nothing has been producing for me. ive thrown countless jigs, senkos, crawling a rattle trap, and a few lizards. i cant catch anything with them. the lake im fishing is small, as in i can do a lap around it fishing from shore, and is maybe 15ft deep at its deepest point. the water is stained due to rain, maybe a foot or two visibility, but is normally pretty clear. what would you recommend i use? i was thinking of finally learning the dropshot and using it on a very short leader. let me know if you have any other ideas.
  19. is it possible melt old plastics and repour them? i think it would make some sweet looking colors and save a little bit of money. if anyone has any experience doing this let me know, thanks!
  20. alright anything will be great thanks!
  21. so ive been browsing the internet and have seen countless pimped out john boats. the only problem is i cant find any guides to do the same to my own! does anyone have some links to good guides? im primarily looking for a casting deck guide and building storage compartments. any and all help is appreciated, thank you
  22. probably going to go with the powell diesel. definently looks affordable. probably gonna throw on some 14 lb vicious floro and have a sweet crankbait rod. thanks guys!
  23. i think im going to go with the daiwa exceler. thanks everyone for the help. now best rod for under $100? haha
  24. i was wondering if their are still fish around docks in the winter? if so, what would be the best thing to throw at them? if not, what would be the best shallow cover for fish in the winter? i know you catch them mostly deep this time of year but i was just wondering if there was anything else i can do.
  25. what are my options for a decent cranking reel at under $100. i wouldnt be opposed to something used.
