  1. I am a college student at UNC Charlotte and am a member of the Bass fishing Club there. This sunday(9/14) we are having our first club tournament on Norman. I need a boater to co-angler with for this tournament because there aren't enough boats in the club for everyone to get to fish. You do not have to be in the club to fish in the tournament with me, which is why I am posting on here. I am more than willing to pay for gas. There is an optional buy in of $20 a boat that will produce a prize for the 1st and 2nd place winners. If you have any questions please feel free to message me. Thanks, NC_Bass6
  2. I use glacier gloves with flaps to pull back the tip of the thumb and pointer finger. The coldest ive fished is only 25 degrees but theyve held up well and I would recommend them to anyone.
  3. Have a different presentation than everyone else I 100% agree with use a net ( lost multiple huge fish because of not having a net ) have really accurate casts
  4. one time fishing with a friend he snagged a plastic bag on the bottom of the lake with a square bill. After pulling for a while it finally came out and when it did it flew right into my leg and the back treble buried all the way in. had to go to the doctors and get it numbed and it eventually came out the way it went in. kept the bait and fished with it the next weekend.
  5. this is a great idea, we had this on a paintball forum i used to post in. I better see some pictures when everyone gets their boxes.
  6. watermelon red, hands down
  7. i drop shot in some pretty small ponds, i dont really change my setup very much. the most important thing to know is what the fish in the pond eat and try to mimic that. in some of the ponds i fish the main forage is bluegill so i have more success dropshotting a bigger roboworm than a small minnow
  8. the two that i have had the most success with are sexy shad and bluegill. some of the best lipless cranks for sure
  9. i use one reel and two rods for my baitcasting, so i am in a pretty similar situation. I use 15 lb pline on my reel and have fished everything with it and have never had a problem with not being able to set the hook
  10. i really want one haha. got any advice for purchasing one?
  11. I always buy a home state license but ill be honest if it was for an hour or two for one day i probably wouldt. not to be cheap but just too much of an inconvienence
  12. lost a phone once but never a rod
  13. They are apparently very effective when bass are schooling. i use them for panfish mostly, but have caught small bass on them.
  14. buzzbait or jitterbug. my most exciting fish come on them. EDIT: whats up with my font
  15. if your not looking to spend a ton of money a BPS cranking stick or an abu garcia veritas winch rod. i used both extensively over the summer and was happy with both.
  16. square bills, lipless, senkos, swin jigs, and a buzzbait in the morning.
  17. i love catching huge catfish. nice thing to do at night
  18. caught my pb catfish ona a green pumpkin senko. by the way it shot off with thebait i knew it couldnt be a bass.

I think this may be a problem in a pond i fish. all summer huge carp would come up with chunks taken out of there mid section. I was always told by other fisherman it was someone bowfishing but i believe now that it was probably a turtle. With the size of the holes in the fish if this was a turtle it had to be pushing 30-50 lbs!
  20. i fish mostly smaller bodies of water and was looking for ways to get off the shore. The best option i found was a belly boat. before i went out and bougtht one i wanted to see if anyone has or had fished in one and what they thought about the experience. The things i was concerned about were the storage space, stability, and casting ability.
  21. Just looking at this thread and the links provided with no prior experience, i think one of the most important things about trying to start up an operation like this is knowing your demographic. most of the people going to these types of places are not the type of people who post on this site. Most of the people visiting these places are people who have more money than things to do with it. You will do alot better trying to cater to these types of people than convincing the average joe its worth a 5th of his paycheck to come to a place where he has a better chance of catching a big fish.
  22. just in case anyone was wondering about the price in dollars https://www.google.com/#bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&fp=ed6cd8ec55b9affb&q=1%20JPY%20to%20USD&safe=active
  23. definently need a video of that in the water
  24. my pb, close to 7 pounds, my top 3 biggest fish have all been caught on spinning gear
