Versatile smallmouth lures
Awesome! Definitely going to try this combo. I've slowly started gaining confidence in regular (hard plastic) jerkbaits so this will be a fun little switch up. I used to primarily be a LMB guy but the last couple of years have transitioned more into SMB fishing. My son gets super excited every time a smallie comes crashing out of the water to spit out a hook. Thanks again for the info!

Cape ponds that require a Permit/Sticker between Memorial and Labor Day?
I hear ya! I'd love to stay more local but last year I got a taste of smallie fishing and now I'm addicted to it. I'm in Central MA so there really aren't many quality smallmouth fisheries around here. I work 50+ hours a week in the medical field so on my one day off I want to hit up places that I know will or have produced well in the past.

Thanks for the info!! Are you sure about Sheep's? I was there earlier today and didn't see any signs regarding needing a resident sticker/permit to park there.

Cape ponds that require a Permit/Sticker between Memorial and Labor Day?
Hello all. Just need some help figuring out which of the Cape ponds below require either a town or resident permit/sticker to park between Memorial day and Labor Day. I live over an hour away but looking to try some new waters so this would save me some time and energy. Either way, if you know if they DO or DON’T need it please message me. Thanks in advance! Whopper Plopper anyone's favorite Topwater Lure?
Here in MA the colors that seem to do very well for me are perch, trout, and bluegill so I bought all those colors. I also bought the Loon for night fishing. I've had success slow reeling, pause & go reeling, and burning them in... the cadence varies depending on the season and waters being fished. My favorite bite is topwater so I've tried many lures over the year. The excitement of a lunker exploding on the Whopper Plopper is second to none! There have been many days I've caught 10-15 fish on it alone.

Whopper Plopper anyone's favorite Topwater Lure?
The Whopper Plopper is my current "go to" topwater bait and usually always the very first lure I'll throw as the sun is coming up. I primarily use the 130 but have recently ordered a couple of the 110's for my lighter setups. Prior to the Whopper Plopper, the Arbogast Jitterbug was my favorite topwater. The WP by far gets the most aggressive strikes I've seen on a topwater bait, although, the Jackall Pompadour is a very close 2nd!

Got a great deal this past weekend - Picked up a brand new Raymarine Dragonfly 4 Pro Sonar/GPS with Navionics maps installed for $200 total after using the eBay 20% off coupon that was floating around. Can't wait to try this baby out!

Whopper Plopper 110 is here!
Started using the 130 a few summers ago after watching a friend do well with it and fell in love immediately... the blow-ups on this lure are like none other, although the jackall pompadour also gets some viscous hits. Anyway, bought several colors of the 130. Last summer purchased a 90 to see how that was but it felt too light after being so used to the 130. Definitely looking forward to checking out the 110 for my lighter setup. Keep the reviews coming fellas

Spinning Reels $150-$200 Range
I've owned the Stradic ci4 and now own a few Pflueger Patriarch 9535's... the Patriarch, in my opinion, is the more superior of the two. The reel is super light, super strong, and as smooth as they come. I've landed a few 15+ lb pike and carp on it with no issues at all. I do also own a few of the Pflueger President reels and for the money, they are also excellent reels! My next purchase will be the Abu Garcia Revo Inshore INS30 Spinning reel to pair with a St. Croix Mojo Inshore rod so I can sling 1-2oz swimbaits around this season
