  1. 1.What makes a good jig trailer? 2.How do you prevent worms/jig skirts from melting? 3. Will a worm or soft plastic lose it's scent if stored in a plano box?
  2. Hi everyone, today I picked up a new Shimano Citica G, and I was just wondering one thing. The reel seems and feels awesome, however, when I spin the handle and let go, the handle doesn't spin for a long time. Is this me just being OCD?
  3. Well, last summer my friend and I were fishing at the local reservoir and I found a small, $15 diawa combo on the ground. I could see why someone left it there (the rod was broken and missing all the guides except the bottom one). So basically, my rod was 2ft. long and about as flexible as a hockey stick. As a joke, I picked it up, put an old texas rigged senko on it, cast it out(about 12 feet.), and caught a 5lb. largemouth on it. Just goes to show ya' that you don't need $600 reels and rods to catch a nice fish.
  4. Yes I do... For my jig rod. I like the Revo S, but I wanted to see how it compared to the Citica.
  5. What do you mean even spooling technology?
  6. Like em' both, both the same price, which one do you recommend most? Mostly will be used for crankbaits. Please be fair (no Shimano fanboys(: )
  7. I like the Citica 200g better. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-Citica-200G7-Baitcasting-Reel-UPGRADES-/281041361306?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item416f5ed99a
  8. Just passing on the info i learned here
  9. I know many people bash on the beginner Abu's, but despite what some people say, the Abu pro max imo is a nice reel. Also, another reel I own and love is the Revo S gen 3.
  10. I know all about cleaning reels every few months or so, but what about after every trip? should you just wipe off with a paper towel?
  11. Also, can someone please give me an easy, at home solution for spooling the line on evenly? I'm a bit ocd and uneven line bugs the crap out of me.
  12. Well, if you want a quality reel that has an aluminum frame, you would want to bump up your limit to around $100, but at your price range the Lew's Laser MG Speed Spool (graphite frame) and the Abu Garcia Pro max (graphite frame) should do you good.
  13. Won't lower diameter line cut into the other layers of line?
  14. Hello, everyone, tomorrow I am going on a big fishing shopping trip, and I wanted to know what line (not brand) do you recommend for my crankbait setup and my plastics/jig setup. What line is best for beginners? Easiest to cast? Sits even on the reel?
  15. Why would it become uneven after casting and retrieving? I thought this helps straighten it out?
  16. I just spooled my line on a reel, and although the line is fairly even in terms of looking at the reel from above, when I look at the reel from the back, each line wrap looks a bit uneven. Is this OK?
  17. BTW I have a baitcast rod. In the small crevice where the metal of the guide (one of the upper guides) meets the rod, there is what seems to be a very, very small dab of glue. This is now separated from a piece of the guide, but the guide still feels vey firm on the rod. Is this all good?
  18. In my spool tension cap, I wiped off the small amount of oil in there. Should the inside part of the spool tension cap (where the spool rubs) be oiled?
  19. Are you sure? Noting will give me problems in the past?
  20. When I got my new rod I was so excited I accidentally knocked a guide onto the table. the guide bent a very, very small amount but I instantly bent it back. You can't even tell the difference. Was I wrong to do this? Should I do something else?
  21. It was a combo, but the model number is VNGC69-6 This rod is an Abu Garcia Vengeance.
