  1. i was wondering what has been the most productive bait n lure for you,if u could only use 1 bait or lure 2 fish????...for me here in miami its been the silver (rattling) minnow (lookalike) that dives a few feet under water & the top water rubber frog in (green & brown), i have also done pretty good using a simple silver spoon too,ive hooked a few big bass on spoons..the minnow by far has been the most productive 4 me in general 2b honest, in fresh, brakish or salt water & with a big selection of different fish..i dont think u can go wrong with the blk. n silver rattling minnow...
  2. i remember doing just that talking to locals & at bait shops with my dad way back, yes we did get to meet many new folks, but non would give us any real good fishing spots(as expected),,we would spend all day searching 4 a spot on the boat & maybe find 1 or 2 maybe!...with goggle maps i find 1/2 a dozen new places 2 explore in 15min..i think any fishermen in 2013,that doesnt use Goggle is pretty much in the dark these days....i dont really need a lunching ramp,i have a 12ft jonboat with a 5hp & a trolling motor,i just launch it on the bank of any lake/canal & then put the motor on.
  3. i found a small pond,oh about 1/2 the size of a normal residential yard..it was about 10ft deep, all made by natural,it looks like it was carved out into the coral rocks.i was exploring some trails on my atv,,mannnn that hole was full of fish, all i had that day in my backpack was a small spool of 15lf line ,a bobber and some bread..the min, that breaded hook hit the water, fish on..in 30min i got 2 bass,2oscars,& a gar..i guess they were hungry.i remember making a lil campfire n cooking hotdogs while i fished the hole,,,,,man that was the life..ive found alot of those old/abandoned lakes starting in broward and going north.
  4. hey guy i was wondering how many of u find hidden/secret fishing spots like lakes/canals/rivers/streams in out of the way pleaes??..i use goggle maps alot.i scan areas in the everglades& then go in my truck, atv, jonboat or airboat 2 fish it..the best spots ive found filled with fish, have been canals n little lakes deep in the everglades were many times i have to make a trial to get to them..there r some good (huney holes),deep in them woods.i tell ya...
  5. i have good results in south florida canals casting a soft green or brown rubber frog, just poping it on top of the water & creating a splash..large mouth, pecocks, gars & snake heads have hit my frog hardddddddd..ohh watch out gators love them too lol.good luck buddy
  6. thats awesome buddy as to what i hear he is a really cool dude, 2 freinds of mine went 2 his fishing school in clewiston,fl..they told me it was pricey, but well worth it, we went out on 2 boats fishing & they whipped I disagree 100%...while i landed 1 fish they landed 3 or 4,i sure pays to educate urself..
  7. i know roland martin was a big deal in clewiston years ago he even had a fishing school there...
  8. his farm in right on clewiston on lake okeechobee...i was wondering if u guys think that adding under water struchers, like big rocks or something to make like a cave would be beneficial to the fish? i know this works really well in salt water.
  9. i had a 12foot jonboat with a 5hp outboard and a trolling motor,it was awesome for lakes n canals with no boat ramps, just dump it over the side of any canal and i was fishing..
  10. what other fish do u think my friend can add to his pond, that are good for fishing and not a danger to swimmers or nature?
  11. the gators dont worry him to much, the pond has a protective barrier all around just 4 that, but i think the Snake head fish idea is gonna have to be removed..not only is it very ilegal, they can grown up tp 4feet long, they r aggressive and have big teeth thats like adding barracudas to your pond,in my opinion.
  12. when i go atv riding i come many lakes n canals deep in the woods and noticed many of them have (grass carp) in there some carps ive seen are 3feet long..ive tryed catching then with all sorts of artifical baits, bread balls, even dead cut bait and nothing..does anybody here know whats the best bait to catch these grass carps?..
  13. ..Hey guys a good buddy of mine owns a big farm in central florida & he made a swimming/fishing pond in his farm its about 1 acer in size,he added bass, oscars, peacocks & cat fish 2 the pond,he asked me if he should add snake head fish to the pond for fishing purposes..my question to u guys is, do u think its safe to add (snake head fish) to his pond even tho him & his kids swim in it?...ive heard snake heads are very aggressive & have sharp teeth,..would adding them to the pond be safe for the kids & the other fish??...thank you guys ur feed back is appriciated.
  14. ive heard those snakehead fight like hell, does anybody know if u can eat them? and how did they invade florida waters? where they put in the lakes n canals on purpose?
  15. here in miami i see folks using casting nets all the time in saltwater from the beach, docks, bridges u name it..if i were 2use it in freshwater.id do a few cast and hide the net 2 be safe in my boat or truck to be safe,if the warrden sees the bait offcorse im gonna have a rods in the water 2 justify the bait...i realy dont think they r gona bring casting net sniffing dogs hahah..
  16. ive done well in salt water with a bobber and a live sardine or shirimp, but have never tryed it in freshwater,,hey has any body used these lil minnows u can buy to eat in stores called ( smellts) they look like a thin sardine,i used it once (dead) with a sinker to the bottom of a 30ft lake and something big hit it and popped my 15lb..line,im assuming it was a big cat fish.
  17. everybody is sooo concerned about the legal part of it,geeezz the US gov, has done a great job at scaring its people with laws about everything (but we r a 100% free country)hahaha....anyways i dont care about the legal end of it..i just thought it would be a great idea to feed the fish on the same bait fish they feed on while in the lakes/canals..ive done it in saltwater and it works great, better then any bait u can buy..4those of u that use casting nets do u throw anyt type of bait in the b4 the casting net 2 attract the bait fish???
  18. ive been 2 lots of lakes & canals and have seen alot of bait fish around, lil minnow/sardine looking fish,i was wondering if i put a casting net in the water & use some of those minnows as live bait, with a bobber or to the bottom, would those minnows be an effective bait for all sorts of fish, especialy bass?..ive done this in salt water for sardinze/mullets and they make great bait fish.....your comments is very appriciated.thank u

  24. ...Theres this deep lake(25/30ft) in miam-dade,its on NW 41street going west all the way till the end of nw41 st,passing the metro-west prison & then u hang a right into a dirt road..i rode atv's & target shot since i was a kid out there..everytime i rode my atv out there i took my fishing rod and plastic minnow.even tho i never took a hit, big (5lb or bigger) peacock bass would fallow my lure, only when the lure would rattle,if it was a silent lure they wouldnt fallow it..there was alot of bait fish always swmming around(minnows)...i was woundering has anybody here ever fished this lake, cought anything there or have some info on this lake???.....i appriciate ur feed back guys. godbless.
