  1. Thanks for everyone's input! It's reassuring to know that there is no right or wrong way to do it is is just patience. Good luck to everyone!
  2. Lots of great advice guys thanks a lot. It seems I just have to try a little of everything and figure out what I like best. Thanks again and happy fishing!
  3. I recently got a crankbait specific rod and reel. I was leaning toward seagaur invisx but am hearing nothin but good about the yozuri hybrid for 10 bucks cheaper. Anyone use either or both and have an opinion?
  4. I was faced with the exact same situation about a month ago. I went with the premier because of the sensitivity and weight. All factors aside i absolutely love the premier and would buy it again in a heartbeat
  5. I was looking at fishingskirts.com. I am confused how the skirts come on there. It says .25 but minimum 10. What does this give you?
  6. Going to make some jigs. Was wondering what kit to buy to make my skirts and what jig heads to buy for a finesse type jig. Thanks.
  7. I probably being similar to many others cannot stand fishing slow. I am not very good at it and have a very short attention span. I always do well on cranks swimjigs fluke and poppers when the bass are active but when the bass are finicky I never catch a thing. I am trying to teach myself to worm fish and jig fish but feel like I'm buying the wrong stuff and fishing it the wrong way. As a side note I mostly fish in ponds that are bout 5-8 ft with relatively clear water. What size/weight and color jigs and worms should I buy and how should I fish them? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  8. Hey guys. Just wondering what brand/model and color of spinnerbaits everyone is successful with
  9. I need quite a few new things from BPS. Since I'm in sub 30 degree weather up in the Midwest I was debating waiting for the BPS spring classic sale. For anyway who went last year, is it worth the wait?
  10. As a note. Idk where in mass you live but there is a BPS in foxbourough
  11. If you have a BPS near you drop in there or make a day trip out of it. To my point, BPS has their own line of rods and reels at a reasonable price. In October I bought the pro qualifier reel and Carbonlite rod combo for $160. It was the best quality for the money that I could find after searching for months. To my dismay, 2 months later for Black Friday wkend they had that combo for only $60 bucks. So if you were to pull the trigger on this combo I would wait for the spring sale and expect more of the same for deals. Happy Fishing!
  12. Thanks for the advice. I was definitely looking more towards 17# Fluorocarbon. Guy at BPS recommended Seagaur Invisx. Has anyone used this or others that they like?
  13. Heard about the San Diego jam knot recently too and had no problems. Seems to be getting more and more popular as it reaches the bass fishing world. Before now it was a kept secret among San Diego ocean fishermen. Try it you won't be sorry. Good Luck!
  14. Got a st croix premier med moderate 7ft crankbait rod and bps Johnny Morris signature reel 6:4:1. Also just got confirmation on my huge squarebill TW order also with a few other items. And more gift cards to BPS!
  15. Just got a shallow cranking specific setup this past Xmas. Any line suggestions? I was thinking fluorocarbon. Poundage?
  16. I use these for early summer. Mix it up mid summer and love poppers late summer.
