  1. Thanks for the opportunity! My guess at this is good ole #44
  2. Picked a shad firetiger and crank bluegill up a few weeks ago. Just tried the shad the other day and was very impressed. I caught 5 in 30 minutes! I may say it casts awful but was still impressed with the extremely unpredictable action. Its safe to say its one of my new confidence baits after catching a 3.25 lber on the 3rd cast.
  3. Thanks! I was already planning on waiting so that should work well. As of right now I was planning on putting a grip and an eotech on it. I see some have rails and some are bare. Is it better to have to rails for ease of customization or does that not matter?
  4. I wanted to focus mostly on m4 type ar 15s
  5. Ya illinois isnt legalizing auto anytime soon and ive never heard of auto being legal or anywhere near the price of a semi auto ar15
  6. preferably under 2 grand. that means probably just over a thousand for the rifle itself
  7. i actually already have a remington 700 270 winchester thats almost brand new. the reasoning behind the purchase his more based around fun and occasionally a coyote maybe and wanting to get one before theyre turned illegal.

To begin, I don't know a whole lot about ar15s other than them having cosmetic features that have no bearing on how they perform and being no worse than a "regular" rifle. Trying to stay the least political as possible but the threat of them being taken away from us triggered me into research and looking into buying one. I was curious where everyone would start their research into buying one and which brands etc. I am a big hunter mostly deer and upland game. I realize its not the best decision to use an ar for either of these obviously so the use would probably be more fun oriented, a coyote here and there and some home defense god helping we wont need it. I am very familiar with hunting rifles and shotguns etc so any similarities may help. Thanks in advance.
  9. All LH here. Being right handed with everything, Id rather have my dominant hand working the rod and my off hand spinning because its a lot less complex technique
  10. I recently started throwing more and more lipless but seem to be the king of getting impossible snags. Lost 2 in one day fishing
  11. Will have to try this! I have found my problem to be the lure spinning and me loosing the spot to loop back through
  12. You mind me asking where you got the falcon box?
  13. Just recently started with fluorocarbon and have been tying San Diego jam with no problems other than it being complicated to tie

I am starting to collect more and more jigs and have become somewhat addicted to buying them. I am running out of room in the regular utility boxes with dividers. I have seen falcon makes a jig box but cannot find it to buy. I have also seen some people put their jigs in the Plano spinnerbait. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for storing jigs. Thanks in advance
  15. how do u like those spro lipless cranks?
  16. There's illinois for ya
  17. X2 price point scared me away a little to start but once you buy one pack you can't go back
  18. I just wanted to start out with some background. I came home a very defeated baseball player early February. I had a rare elbow injury sidelining me for at least 4 weeks. The coach told me the py couldn't keep me due to the uncertainty of my injury. I was very saddened however my parents cheered me up by leaving the spring break plans up to me. I of course chose go fishing! After looking all across the us I decided on guntersville due to it being the #3 rated bass lake in the nation, it being under a 10 hr drive, and there being cities to stop in on the way. I posted a thread awhile back and the unanimous choice for a guide was Alex Davis (spinnerbaitkid.com). I came in with high hopes and aspirations of getting in the double digits while still keeping reasonable expectations. I was ecstatic to learn of to use the Alabama rig and to just especially be out on the water for such a beautiful day. The fishing was just ok today I caught 2 around a pound in a half. My dad caught 3 all at about a pound and a half. Our guide (Alex) caught a 2 pounder four 3-4 pounders and a huge 8 pounder! It was the biggest fish I had ever seen caught. It was safe to say I was a little disappointed in my outcome but what can u say it wasn't meant to be. It's not like we're fishing in a tank. I still had the day of a lifetime and will cherish the memory of the trip for the rest of my life. I hope to come back soon! To especially better my performance. If anyone is in need of a guide for guntersville I highly recommend Alex. He gave us a day full of laughs and lessons (not just about fishing ) and quite a few fish. Good luck to anyone fishing everywhere! Here's a few pics!
  19. Jigs even though at suck at using them. I just cannot go to the store and not buy one or two more.
  20. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Smithwick-G-Finish-Suspending-Rattlin-Rogue/1415056.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fproduct.jsp%3FproductId%3D1368654&WTz_l=RI%3BIK-133543 Here is the link to them. I found it puzzling how on the website some colors have yellow eyes and some have red
  21. I too just purchased some of the suspending version. I havent had a chance to fish them so dont know if they truly suspend or not. I noticed the reply about the eyes. One of mine has yellow yes and one has red. If it matters i bought the cabelas exclusive colors
  22. Thanks for replys guys! I think everyones favorite is quite unanimous! Im booked with Alex for 2 days and cannot wait to get down there. Will be sure to post pictures of our trip!
