I'd take your reel and mount it on a few different rods and see how they feel before you make a decision

Lol I know , these reels are the best sub $200 reel I've used

brakes work just fine for me

I use one break on all of mine and just adjust line tension accordingly

lol i was thinking about going up there too, went fishing in gettysburg and caught a few of these bass fishing

i might try the canal up here, or the creek depending on water levels

i wouldnt use braid right away, what do you plan on fishing for and where? 10lb mono should work find for you in the river etc until you get use to it .. berkley trilene smooth casting is a good line to use and it not expensive
