Life On The Road...worth It?
Well this is the one out of ten, i dont really have a choice...its just the nature of the vegetation/tree managment business and I am a project manager so that just makes it worse. I will however, after the current project i am on is over in late july/early august be able to handle all the gigs that are within an hour from home....that way i can stay at the house...untill i get another BIG project.

Life On The Road...worth It?
Man, im exausted. I leave my home on Monday mornings at 0330 hrs, work 12-16 hr days, and dont usually walk back in the house till 2130hrs on Friday night. Ive been living out of hotels durring the week and working all over the east coast ever since I changed jobs back in March. I have a good job and the company is taking care of me and the money is good but this really taking a toll on me. I have been making extra effort to spend time with my family and wife when i am home and on the weekends but I am really so exausted on Saturdays that it feels like im just going through the motions. I have put fishing and softball on the back burner and when im home dedicate my self to my wife, child, and my church and i feel like theres not enough of me to go around. And last but not least, my fishing has suffered, i can count on one hand how many times ive been out on my boat in the last two months. (I did get to fish when i was in PA back three weeks ago) I am venting a little/to you guys but i do not regret my refocus and lack of fishing but i do miss it...and i do miss being full of energy daily. Anybody else here on the road alot got any tips or help to get over this hump.

Starting My Bulk
Raider, 5700 and 6700 sound like alot for a fair lean bulk. I agree with Fish, bbulk phase for me is 4500 and lean calories. (Lol i was pushing close to 500g of protein a day) Supps sound like u got it right. Good luck, and be sure to really psuh you self in the gym right now to really take advantage of the bulking phase, i typically go for short/HEAVY sets and Super Sets. Make sure you go to failure in everything that you lift. Ill pm you some pics from one of my cutting phases verssus a bulking phase... I dont bulk much anymore, i have found a happyy place where i am now

What's Your Preferred Brand Of Baitcaster?
Lews Casting, Shimano spinning, and Daiwa/Daiwa JDM is my eye candy. I voted Lews and Daiwa. But that does not mean that i dont own or wouldnt fish others. Shimano and Abu make fine reels. I really like the Chronarch and the Revo line up and would be prouud to own them. Not a Quantum fan tho. I feel i get the most bang for MY buck from Lews casting reels. But if i had a money tree in the back yard, Im sure I would have some JDM Daiwa candy...lol. love my zillion and would love more but daiwa just seems too overpriced (for me)

Braided Line ! What Am I Doing Wrong?
Did you catch any fish? If so, it iss probably just your drag. Braid has zero stretch, so when you set the hook it has to go somewhere and it digs in the reel if 1.drag is too tight and 2. Smaller diameter braids. I lock down the drag with 50+ and havent had any issues, but i use 30 alot of my rods and i have to be on top of my drag settings because if is too tight, all will be well until you set the set the first time, then you have have backlash after backlash. Until you get it out.

Acend Fs128T Kayak
Hey Rock, if you do get it, be sure to test it thoroghly and write up a review. Im am 6 months away from buying a yak, but i am looking and have looked hard at that one. (More or less to save money) I cant spend but so much, i already have a bass boat and a jon boat, i only want to spend a small amount before at first. If i really like being a part time yakker, then i may buy a better yak in the future... thanks in advance.

Fished A Jig For The First Time!
Thats awesome!! Keep at it. The jig fish get bigger. I caught my personal bbest smallie (5.2 lbs) on a jig when i was in PA on the susquehana river, two weeks ago. Its my favorite bait. The little shake is all it takes sometimes.

Confidence Bait
I think ive answered a similar question on this board already, but my answer stays the same. A Jig and craw trailer. I can always count on a jig fish and i have confidence in my ability to fish it comparable with any other tyype of lure. Shallow or deep cover deep structure or humps weed lines skipping docks Punchin holes Swiming it deep like swimbait or spinng bait Its a very versatile bait and when alot of other both vertical and horizontal presentaions fail, ill just fall back to a jig. And i put it whereever i think the fish are.

13 Fishing Omen Black Casting Rod 7'11" Heavy Question
Hmmmmm the powell 766 is a beast and can be had for 110 right now....

Choice Between Deep Cranking Rods
In that case, heres a vote for the 7'2 Ballistic. It would also be an excellent fit for larger shallow cranks and lipless cranks. I have handled that rod and like it. I am a Powell man, but for cranking rods im not as picky.
- Lipless Crankbait Rod

Choice Between Deep Cranking Rods
I have the daiwa 7'7" M and i use it for deep cranks. Its only rated up to 3/4oz but i have thrown 1oz cranks on it. Ive held tthe RCs and they are heavy and bulky, but if you go that route there is a 7'8 model that would def deep cranking duties. I like a longer rod for deep cranks. It def helps with getting a longer cast. I just wish that the ballistic had a 7'11 MH or H ... it is a decent rod for the price.

Flippin/pitchin Rod
Heavy power and fast or mod/fast action is what I use for same or similar conditions. You can get away with a MH, but with thick weeds, i like having the extra backbone. But with using braided line, you should be able to get away with a MH. I have a few flipping rods that i use and i really like them all. I use a Powell Max 765 7'6" H with xf action. 7'7" Shimano Cumara H fast. Those two are my favs. Theyy should work for you. My recomended rods. Powell Endurance 764 7'6 MH Powell Endurance 775 7'7 H Dobyns Champ 765 ST. Croix legend Tournament bass 7'6 MH mod fast Shimano Cumara 7'11 H xf Phenix Recon 2 7'6" MH or H I just listed rods in the lower tier of your range... there are several 100 rods that will do great too

Spinning Rod: Which Would You Choose?
The fish ranger has Powell Endurance rods, both spinning and casting on sale for 110. Thats 60 bucks off. Its a no brainer.

Big Jigs
What do u plan to use 2oz jigs for? The only jigs that heavyy that I know of are salt water or bucktail type jigs which are very easy to find. The onltt bass jig in 2oz that I have ever seen was the D&M Custom Baits Mat Rat Punching Jig.

Good Rod To Pair With Lew's Tpro
Ill give you a list of some of my powells and what i do with them. Endurance 714 - Jig rod Endurance 723 (1)- Spinner,Chatterbaits, Hollow body swimbaits, Swim jjigs, flukes Endurance 723 (2)-Worms, light t rigs, light jigs Endurance 725- frogs, heavy top waters, buzz baits, big jigs The 723 (7'2" MH xf) is one of the most veristile. Thats why i have two of them. But if your gonna be in some thick stuff or gonna be chunking heavier weights then id go with 714 7'1 H. The stuff i use those rods for is not neccisarily what they may have been designed forr, simply what works best for me. The 725 for example is a heavy duty 7'2 Mag HEAVY. That i use for big topwater stuff, but is also a great rod for football jigs, c rigs, big worms, and flipping and big 1oz spinner baits.

One Rod For Carolina Rigs And Deep Cranks?
None, would not buy a rod for both. My deep cranking rods are soley for deep cranks and maybe for small hard swimbaits (1oz or less) but I would use a flipping stick, worm rod, or a jig rod for c rigs before i would anything else.
-
One Rod For Carolina Rigs And Deep Cranks?
One rod for just c rigs? Any rod? Ii normally uuse a flipping stick but if i had to choose one rod for just c rigs, Id probably grab a G Loomis NRX 893 JWR. 7'5" MH in blue. Love the blue color..

Flippin/pitchin Rod
What size weights or jigs do u plan to use? what type of cover are you pitchiing to? how thick is it? What type of line do you plan on using? (Mono, fluoro, braid)? What is your budget for this rod? What iis your prefered rod length? Answer these questions and we can get a better idea of what your looking for. 7'6" H fast is a good overall choice, but it just depends on how light of heavy u wana go.
