  1. The fish ranger has Powell Endurance rods for 110 bucks, thats 60 bucks off. I have 9 Powell Endirance rods and 5 Lews TPs and i really believe that its a match made in heaven. I dont think you could go wrong with the 13 Fishin rods. They have been selling like hot cakes.
  2. Im with Tom on this one, I use one of my flipping sticks for c rigging and it is perfect. I dont like a really stiff rod for cranking and dont like a slow action for bottom techniques.
  3. Agree with Snook, but my personal favorite is SpiderWire Ultra Cast. Suffix 832 is great also.
  4. Whooooohooooo!! Keep at it brother! I just got back from PA, but i think I need to go back and get a swimbait lesson.
  5. Ive used traditional mono in 10lb on a spinning reel in the 2500 size and it was fine. YO Zuri Ultra should be more than fine. Managability should not be an isssue. The ultra soft was design specifically for spinning gear.
  6. Rods in the same line up usually have the same base blank material. Look around at your different frog specific rods, there are probably more of them that come from Mid to highend blanks than lowend. When you buy yur Shimano Crucial Frog rod, the manufactuer is not giving you a Convergence blank because they can, they are giving you a Crucial blank. Guys, the difference in FROG SPECIFIC RODS, is in the tip, much softer.
  7. My old fishing partner and I were "rage rigging" craws, creatures, and some worms for about 8 years now. Before i knew what rage rigging was. I still havent bought any Moaners..i havent got around to it, but like some one said above, most keel weight hooks will do. I really like this rig and will use it often when working down weedlines and around cover. The Rage Lizard has been insane for me. I also just bought some ShellCrackers and i like slingin them on the beds and around docks. 4/0 and 1/4 oz is pretty standard for me. I like 5/0s too I dont really like the big worms on the rig, but most of the others are great.
  8. Dude just compared a Carboinlite to a Ram Truck...... smh
  9. Cavitron...easy
  10. Dude, you got a darn good reel and and decent rod. A 7' MH is pretty much your do iit all rod. T rigs, jigs, spinners, flukes, hollow bodies, weoghtless t rigs, carolona rigs...its almost unanimously the most universal set up that you can buy. But yes you are correct, maybe a little to stiff for drop shots and a little too light for punching but everything in between is fair game. 300, bucks is about what i have in a rod/ reel combo too. Its a strong price range and hard to go wrong. You did good ttoday, keep the mono for a while and enjoy the new stuff.
  11. You certainly can fish them on that line combo. I fish my flukes on 30lb braid and 8lb-12lb fluoro. Some times ill fish weightless trick worms on the same set up, but i really like the weightless trick worm better on a spinning reel/rod with 10lb braid or 6-10lb fluoro (basically for castability) Id like to fish them a little lighter than you combo, but i works for me. If you dont have alot of casting issues then go with it.
  12. Good stuff!! Keep using them!! Keep the pics coming!

Agree with Raider on the sex offender thing. To be honest, i wouldnt even mention it. Keep it in your pocket as a last resort.

I dont have a daughter or a teenager for that matter but im going to wing it. I would meet the young man and i would discuss whats been going on, but i wouldnt give an inch on what your rules are. You lay the ground work for what your rules are, why they are in place, and the consquences. Impress upon her that it is natural to start having feelings for boys at that age, but she must still have discapline and obey your rules. be sure to impress upon her that you are not being strict to be mean, but to protect her and guarantee her prosperous future. Let her know that she is precious and valuable to you and that her saftey and future is paramount. And whatever criteria that you and kom set for the young men to meet, she must make sure that they meet it or move on. Also ask her a few questions, ask her whats shes worth and what kind of man she wants to marry. Let her see that she deserves more. And that if this young man really cares, he would help her obey the rules and do this thing the right way...(if there is one) As for the young man, let him know that you will not sit idlely by and allow him to do things that against your rules. Let him know the consquences. Advise him that he needs to go to school and act like a proper young man and not encourage your daguhter to do these things like running away. Man i cant tell you word for word what to say, but i can say tyat lack of communication is a leading cause is strife. Youve gotta connect with your daughter, spend time with her, and be the only man in her life until it YOUR time to give her away. Not an expert, just an ex cop and a youth counselor at church....pm me if your have any questions. Wouldnt be a bad idea, to seek some counseling at your local church or clinic.
  15. Thong comment caused me to vommit my Milwaukees best.
  16. Topwater lures. If you got slime, then you have more than milfoil, you probably have a filimentous algae which can be a bear. Zoom ultra vibe speed worm, GYCB kut tail, Rage Shad, Rage Toad, buzz bait, your favorite hollow frog, or a weedless swimbait and any other topwater with a weedless hook. If you can get the angle, try to paralell the bank or weedline with a soft jerk bait, (ITS WEEDLESS) Good luck to ya, all pretty good advice above
  17. We've all heard the old joke about a guy calling certain girl(s) a moped because like mopeds they are fun to ride but you dont tell your friends about them.... well ive been thinking, we all have our little mopeds - metaphorically speaking. My moped- Milwaukees Best Light, if im gonna drink a few at the house by myself or while in my shop tinkering, its normally the cheap beer....and i like it. But out in public or picnics, its bbudlight.....go figure
  18. Awesome stuff!!
  19. Its hard not to think of Tiki when you think of Rhonde...because they are twins and did play in the same era, but Rhondes attitude was completely different than Tikis. ...that and tiki played for the Giants..
  20. Never heard anything bad about the Falcon rods. I certainly wouldnt be scared to buy any of their rods. I have fished with one from the orignal series and it is a fine rod and a good value.. spend a few more bucks and Bucco is really light!!
  21. Bait monkey done bit the Snook. Havent looked at it, but will probably look at it now.
  22. 1. Yes. Absolutely. Fishing is alot like working out and body building. You can read and study all you want on your own and then starting working out and conforming to a proper diet on your own, and your results will be good, but not up to your potential. Going to the gym with other guys that will make you silly iin thr weight room really pushes you. You also learn alot of little tips and tricks to give you a true edge. Being around other men with the same hobby will consume your mind with that hobbby, you will begin to perform alot more effiecently. With that said, i learned the most, when i fish with another, more experienced tourney angler as often as i fish solo and i always spend time at the ramp LISTENING and not affraid to ask a question. 2. I thought I was good. I was proven wrong.
  23. Plenty of fish are caught on the bank. Try putting back 20 bucks per week. It adds up quick.

Cast, jerk, jerk, pause, jerk, jerk, jerk pause... set hook, reel fish in, take fish off, repeat sequence. Theres no science to it... watch alot of the videos, read what you can, and cast that thing and experiment with it. The Bassresource video above is a great one!!
  25. Prayers for you buddy. Take it and easy and dont rush anything. I hope you feel better soon.
