  1. Lots of good responses. I like both...fishing alone or with my sons or a buddy. I like to be alone because that's what it is...my time. No worries about anything or how much time I take. Do what I want. I love fishing with my sons because it's something we can share and create memories and I can teach them, plus we can use different techniques and figure out what is or isn't working. Also, to see my sons put it together and catch fish...and maybe out fish the old man...priceless! We all fish from tubes so it's kind of unique. Have to give props to mikeeasttn...my Dad did this with me. He could fish whenever he wanted but always waited to fish with me. He taught me so much and we always tried to outfish one another but he enjoyed it most when I outfished him...which was rare
  2. When in doubt...I cross their eyes. Sometimes a fish, sometimes a stump. or log. I set the hook hard. I hate losing a fish to a wimpy hookset.
  3. Being from So Cal and fishing Casitas...kinda cool but not a lot of lakes in the area....limited. I'm in WA now and love it. So many small bodies of water that hold bass within an hours drive...incredible. I have a hard time choosing. I love the attraction of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Alabama, and Florida for largemouth. Fishing in Arizona in the Phoenix area at the end of this month. Keep getting told how great it is to live there. I have my doubts. Can't deny some of the Northern states for smallies as well as largemouth. I've fished Alabama and love the state. I could live there. I've fished Oklahoma and Arkansas, fished Wisconsin. Fishing was awesome. I have a place to live in Wisconsin if I want. From a fishing standpoint...can't go wrong with just about anywhere depending on what you target. A lot of people have put out facts of living i.e. taxes, cost of living, employment. That makes a HUGE difference. Vacationing and fishing in a place is one thing...living there...is all together different. No real answer but good luck on your decision
  4. Fish slower, fish more days, and get a double digit bass
  5. Been spending already. Somehow I think I exceeded my refund
  6. Can't go wrong with anyone's answer. A goal is just that. I'd love to hit that elusive double digit bass. good luck to all.
  7. I've had kingfishers swoop down and grab my baits on two different occasions. Never hooked em tho

Just a quick hello from the PacificNW. I'm a float tube guy that has a passion for bass. Been fishing for 48 years.. half of those years fishing in So. Cal. for a lot of salt water fish then graduating to bass in my adult years...mainly at Lk. Casitas. I fish as much as possible and catch my fair share (released of course) I have a lot of knowledge of my region and I am more than willing to share tactics, techniques, and bodies of water. Thanks.
