Trolling Motor Help?
Yeah, its metal. It's not really bent, just has a dent where it slammed.

Trolling Motor Help?
I've got an old Motorguide around 12-15 years old. It popped up on me on a crazy day at the lake. The upper "tube" for lack of a better term is dented. The shaft will still turn, but grinds. What are my options? Thanks....

What Is Everyones Favorite Deepwater Technique ?
I've been fishing a 3/8 oz green jig almost exclusively so far this summer with some success. Sometimes deep, sometimes shallow.

Summer Fishing: Shallow Vs. Deep
I fished my local lake yesterday. It was several feet high due to recent rain but was dropping. There was a lot of submerged live trees and bushes. I tried a lot of presentations.. both deep and shallow. I couldn't get much going.. but then the skies cleared and I found a nice bite pitching green jigs to laydowns. I'd pitch to live trees all the way down the bank, but the bites were only on shallow laydowns in the middle of a hot summer bright day. Was there a deep bite too...maybe? But I stayed shallow and caught fish until another stormed rolled in later. Always try both until you figure out. Good luck.

Hooksets With Braid.
Thanks for the responses. I'm really liking the feel of braid, this will help. Going to try the quick but short snap and see how it goes. Thanks again.

Hooksets With Braid.
For those of you that use braid on jigs and plastics, can you tell me how you set the hook. I'm used to crossing their eyes with mono or fluoro and I know that's not the way with braid but trying to get some opinions.. reel set? Sweep? Etc. ? Thanks...

Finding Bass In A Lake
Just a weekend warrior here, but here is my 2 cents. I've read the Buck Perry book and it's a great read. I fish a lake here in KY that is loaded with shad. I've been catching them 15 -20 feet on mainlake points for a few weeks even as low as 75 degrees. Ive seen others recently still hitting secondary points and catching fish. I wish I was better at off shore (humps, saddles, ledges) but for me points are just easier and it works. I try to stick to main lake points close to deep water (old channels, ditches). If I see a blue Heron near a point, ill usually fish it because they are feeding on baitfish and well...so do Bass. Some points seem to seem to "reload" so I try to have a few points close by that ill rotate through in the summer. Tight lines....

Jika Rig
Thanks for the responses... I guess I won't throw it into my junk drawer just yet...lol

Jika Rig
I've been reading about the Jika so I had to try it. I was fishing points and switching between C-Rigs, T-Rigs, Jigs like normal and throwing Jika into the mix. I caught fish on all except the Jika so I'm not sure about all of the buzz. I did get a few hits on it, but not like the others, especially the C-Rig. Just couldn't stick em with the Jika, any thoughts?

Confidence And Help With Texas Rig & Jig??
I noticed reading your jig notes that you keep rod low and use the reel to move the jig, but with plastics you lift the rod and drop. I am trying different retrieves with both and just wanted to get your insight. Thanks Todd

Texas Rig Vs Jig
First I would like to say hi... I am new to this board. I'd like to know how others decide when to throw T-rigs over the Jig and vice versa. I throw both usually, but just wanted to hear what others think about the advantages of each. For example, which one has the better hookup ratio, which catches bigger fish, any weather conditions favor one or the other, etc.? Thanks, Todd
