How To Bass Fish At Night?
I'm usually pitching a black jig with Mccoy blue fluorescent line with a black light. I rarely cast at night.

Craws
I have had good luck with the Chigger Craw. A close second would be Culprit's IncrediCraw.

Scent - Yes Or No????
I use it, if only so they'll hold it a sec or two longer. I have never really noticed a big increase in bites however.

Dragging Jigs?
Yeah, that's how I have been doing it too. But I started the thread to get some opinions. I think sometimes I'm getting hit when I'm reeling in slack for the next sweep. Thanks for all of the responses.

Dragging Jigs?
When you drag a jig out in deep water (or shallow for that matter), how do you work it? Drag to side with tip down, drag by lifting rod, or just by slowly reeling, or else? Thanks...Todd

Your Ideal Hookset For T-Rigs & Jigs
Short line out - snap set Long line out - reel set with a tug right as the tip loads. It's been working good.

Fall Bass Fishing???
I usually will pitch jigs, but I remember one fall day a couple of years ago where I learned a lesson. I had been catching them pretty good on a jig that fall leading up to that cold and windy November day. I hit my normal honey hole and been pitching for a couple of hours without a bite. I see an older gentleman come into the cove and start fishing the same water I had just combed. I look across and see him catching bass after bass, nice 3-4 lbers. I bet he caught a dozen or more and I'm just watching him with my jaw dropped, lol. We finally got close enough to talk and he said "tie you on a white spinnerbait, throw about a foot off the bank and parallel it back". I immediately started catching some nice fish.

Mccoy Line
I have Mccoy on all of mine. I usually throw 15, but the local store (yes I am lucky enough to have a local store that carries it) was out, so I went 17 this summer. I throw 10 on spinning reels. Great line.

Eating Hawgs!!?
This sums it up.

Big Fish Less Likely To Be Caught On Heavy Line?
I've been catching more than a buddy using 17lb copoly. He is using 12lb fluoro. Now I know there are many other factors, but we are both throwing jigs/plastics from the same boat.......As far as sensitivity, I always thought and felt that heavier lines of the same type and brand would be more sensitive.

Go To Fluro Or Braid...coplymer
Which one do you like best Clear Blue Florescent, Extra Clear, or Mean Green? Clear Blue Florescent. It's great for line watching in day or night with the black light. I also read one time that clear blue lines might be the least visible to bass, but I normally fish stain water so I doubt it matters.

Texas Rig/ Soft Plastic Rod
I can't help on those models. But for me, I really like a 6'8 MH for pitching and 7'0MH for casting. The shorter rod is just easier for me to get accurate pitches.

Go To Fluro Or Braid...coplymer
I played the line game for years, but now it's Mccoy copolymer exclusively. Almost no memory and strong.

When Bass Takes A Jig Or Worm.
My experience is a little different, sometimes they grab it and run, but most of the time I just feel/see a little twitch and I reel down and cross their eyes and don't really know where they were headed, if anywhere.

Last Time I Ever Help The Michigan Dnr
Seems harsh to me, but none of us were there. I've had mostly good experiences here in KY with the DNR, but the nicest one I ran into was in TN. We had crossed the state line, and didn't have our TN license. He "escorted" us to a marina and let us buy the license, with no fines. Very cool.

Fishing Line
McCoy copolymer. Low memory and strong.

Time To Respool A Reel, Looking For Opinions

Pitching???
Thanks, do you have better luck with lighter or heavier lures?

Pitching???
I've been bass fishing for many years. I've even been fishing jigs for several years, but I mainly have been casting and dragging. What is the ideal pitching day for standing timber? Do you let it fall all the way even in 20+ feet? What's your favorite jig weight for pitching? Thanks...

Re-Tie Often!
Yeah, at least I know there are some big ones in there. Also, I was out testing some repairs to my trolling motor and it worked great. So it wasn't all bad.

Re-Tie Often!
Well it happened.. I was fishing a small lake 10 mins from the house. I don't fish it often because I usually catch dinks and I have a better bigger lake about 30 mins away. But there I was catching dinks. I didn't give much -thought to re-tying. I was almost back to the ramp, completely dark. I pitched the jig over to a drainage pipe, felt a little tap, reeled down and stuck a nice pig. It shot out parallel with the bank, jumped once, and then said bye as my line snapped. I stood there in the silence and my first thought was.. " I haven't re-tied all night". Don't be that guy, lol.
