I could try that, but idk if they would have much info. it isn't really recognized as a fishery, so nobody really keeps track of it. I could try it though.

Hi all, Help!! The water i usually fish (Erie Canal, Syracuse, New York) is usually quite clear during the summer and late spring and is great for sight fishing. We had a pretty wet April this year, but every other water body has gone back to normal in terms of clarity. From experience, the bass tend to be difficult to catch at the canal when the water is muddy. We've had a good dry 2 weeks now... AND ITS STILL CHOCOLATE MILK!!! Does anybody know of the possible reason for this, or have this happen to them with a certain fishery? Any advice and/or knowledge is appreciated.

The thing is that very few people even realize that the body of water I fish actually contains fish... so I can't look at reports and try to look for other indicators of activity. Of course, when it all plays out, I go fishing regardless

Hi guys, I just noticed today that the maple tree outside my kitchen window is beginning to grow small red buds that fall off the tree frequently. Anybody know of any superstitions of plant life connecting to bass activity? I've heard that sometimes when certain flowers bloom it signifies the right temperatures for fish to start getting active. Just was wondering if anybody had heard about things like this that they wanted to share. Maybe this means the bass are ready up here in Upstate NY!

He said this advice perfectly. CRUISING FISH AREN'T BITERS. last year in one clear, deep lake that doesn't turn over, I made good casts to at least 50 cruisers without a bite. I like to focus on fish that are holding on laydowns, usually with green pumpkin worms and jigs, and tubes. i fish from shore, so I am even more limited.

Has anyone ever trimmed a Berkely Havoc Pit Boss to use as a jig trailer? I just recently thought of this idea and was wondering if anyone had tried it before.

I will use any color... as long as its green pumpkin!! just got a new package and am EAGER to throw them this year.

they look pretty nice to me! for five bucks, I would try them, most crankbaits like this run way more expensive.

water. then I usually take a Nutella sandwich on a flatbread. doesn't take up space, not messy, and it's also quite filling so I don't have to eat so much. doesn't really have to be kept cool.

i fish the canal, though not in your area. i fish it in Jamesville, just out of Syracuse. The bass fishing there is top notch. I'm not kidding. great, great fishing. You can pretty much cruise the banks and sight fish for them, usually with a texas rigged worm or a spinnerbait. they average about two pounds, but i come upon 5 and 6 pounders consistently. of course, they're much more difficult to catch Pickerel are in there too, just an overall great fishery for me, not owning a boat!

Bass Pro Shops Graphite Series casting rods. 40$, Im6 graphite, 2pc. it has worked great for me! they are good, quality rods for the price. sensitive, but with a good backbone. Should do the trick!

Just bought some Stanley Ribbit Frogs, and am anxious to throw them this spring. The thing is, I can't figure out how to rig them! what hooks to use, how to rig, etc etc. Any help is appreciated! Thanks
