  1. I'm with everybody else so far.... one of the curados.
  2. I bought a couple bags of them. Haven't had much of a chance to use 'em, but what little I did, I caught a few fish on 'em.
  3. I have had problems with fluoro and the palomar knot when flippin'. I use the palomar knot for other applications with fluoro, but i think on those super-hard, close-range hook sets, the fluoro tends cuts itself when tied in a palomar because it doesn't stretch like mono.
  4. I think noise depends on what type of water you are fishing.... Here is a good one for ya.... Get your hands on "Knowing Bass: The Scientific Approach to Catching More Fish". It is written by Dr. Keith Jones, the Director of Research at the Berkeley Fish Research Center. It's an awesome read and it will open your eyes as to how and why bass behave the way they do. I would like to say that I remember all that stuff from my college days as a fisheries biology major, but I have to admit I don't remember a whole lot of it because I'm not in the field anymore... :-/
  5. I am partial to Kistler, but that is my preference. I also like St. Croix, and even though I'm not an All-Star fan I know a lot of guys that are. I say you go buy both 'cause you can never have too many rods..... or reels..... or baits..... 8-)
  6. Matthewj is right. If you go to Cabela's, hit up the Bargain Cave. Be careful when you buy something from back there because sometimes it can be broken, but it is possible to get a great deal. I've seen Kislters and St. Croixs back there for under $60. Actually, I got a great deal there the other day on a G. Loomis GLX 7'11" flippin' stick for $200. A lot of money, but a steal for that particular Loomis.
  7. I would definitely throw that thing depending on the time of year. More likely after duck mating season, whenever that is. It's all about matching the hatch. ;D Last year at a club tournament, one of our guys caught a pretty good fish, tossed it into the livewell, and when he went to weigh it in, there was a half-digested duck floating in his livwell. Pretty nasty if you ask me, but the fish took Big Bass for the day, so ya never know.
  8. By the way, I don't want all you Shimano enthusiasts jumping me for not believing what they say because I'm a 100% Shimano man too! 8-)
  9. Wondering if anyone can help me out with some information on the Chronarch Mg. I'm looking to get a nice lightweight reel and I'm pretty sure that this reel is the way to go, but I'm a little concerned about how truly resistant this reel is when it comes to fishing in brackish water or saltwater. What it comes down to is that I don't want to fork over $250 for something that's going to fall apart on me, so any experience with these reels in this type of environment would be helpful. Thanks.
