  1. How is the sensitivity on them?
  2. I am using the rod for swim jigs but also Texas rigs and I feel that is where it falls short,
  3. Thanks for the replies guys, I am currently using some fluorocarbon line, and it just feels dead to me, the shimano crucial interests me looks like a good rod, as does the avid, im kinda limited to what I can get around here local tackle shops have abu Dobyns and Duckett and then there's bass pro which I don't believe they have Kistler
  4. Hey guys just got a Dobyns savvy 734 and I feel like there is no sensitivity, idk if maybe I got a gen 1 or what, but I think im going to return the rod, so in that price range what would be the most sensitive rod, im not worried about weight why matters to me the most is sensitivity, I hear good things about Duckett but if I go cheaper on a rod say vertias or Carbonlite then I have some more money for tackle!
  5. I just don't have the money to go up to the champion, and no places around here sell Powells, which I would love to try. Everyone says the savvy is great, maybe I just have to use it a bit more to get the feel for it, or tie on some braid to help out
  6. Check that it's a 734
  7. Hey guys just purchased this rod a few days ago, felt great in the store balanced well with my Lews tp but tried it out on my buddies lake today and felt as though it had no sensitivity, I mean the bottom is all grass and not much to feel besides that but so far I'm not impressed at all, I guess what I'm asking is if it could just be the lake or if I should return it for something else and what that should be?

  9. i own botth reels, you cant go wrong with either, if you dont mind not having the magnetic braking on the side plate then get the bb, if you would prefer to have dual breaking then get the tournament its a great reel, if you are switching lures with it frequently i would get the tss just because it easier to set up quickly, but the bb1 is also an awesome reel
  10. i think im going to go with the MH rod, just haven't decided what rod yet, i'll probably go to the tackle shop and see what rod balences best with my lews tp, thanks for the help guys!
  11. i was dead set on the powell, then i heard about the ***, it has got some great reviews and it looks o so sweet!
  12. thanks for all the responses guys! the rods i am looking at are either a powell 734 or a *** black rod 7'3 heavy. as the lures go they will all be over 1/2 once, and the cover is typical Florida cover, and depending on the lake i will be either throwing heavy fluorocarbon (17) or braid from 30-50 .
  13. hey everyone, i'm getting ready to add an other rod to my arsenal just dont know what to get. this rod will be used for t-rigged worms and some jigs. i know i want a rod around 7'3 to get nice long cast and maybe some pitching. i already have a 7'6 MH mojo i use for flipping and pitching, but i cant decided what would be better between a heavy or MH rod
  14. i personally use a 1/2 to 1 ounce tungsten weight pegged with a bobber stop or toothpick, tied up to a lazer trokar hook, at first i didnt want to spend the extra money on the hook but man am i glad i did, i got the 4/0 flipping hook and it works great! they are extremely sharp and strong ( snagged at least a 10 foot gator when pitching and held up until my line broke an hour later!). but this set up works great for me here in florida!
  15. i own both reels and both of them are amazing!!! a ton better than my new revo s and my quantum pt's! as for which i would choose i would probably get the regular tournament and use the 50 bucks on tackle. but my tp is my favorite reel, but only slightly tops the model below it, either one you choose you will love it
