  1. i didnt fish in my younger years as dad didnt fish, then when i retired from the air force in 1996 at the age of 44 a neighbor of mine took me on a weekend bass fishin trip, first one was on a Rattle Trap about 2lbs..have been bass fishin every since and havent played a round of course since that day...and i thought i spent alot of money on golf...nothin compared to bass fishin but wouldnt change a thing especially when i get to teach my grandkids..that is priceless...
  2. i have used McCoy for everything for years and taught two grandsons how to use a baitcaster..but more important then the line is to learn how to setup your baitcaster before even throwing a lure, if its not setup right it wont matter what line you use it will backlash...research on the internet there many pages on how to set it up and also on youtube there are videos to watch.....
  3. earlier this year i replaced a number of old reels as they were acting up, the replacements were all from one company and i bought them after reading the reviews. first trip 3 out of the 10 failed completly they have all been replaced and being saved for the grandkids.....so it does happen out of the box..
  4. i dont use braid as not taking the chance on having to replace eyes on my rods...i have tried numerous lines through the years and the one i have used the last 15 is Mccoy fishing line for everything and in those years have not had it break one time...
