Pb River Smallie
Thanks everybody! I'm going out again today, this time with a fly rod, and I'll see if I can maybe beat those ones

Pb River Smallie
I use mostly clouser minnows, sneaky petes, and brown conehead wooly buggers

Pb River Smallie
This isn't exactly a big smallie, but it was the biggest one that I caught since the drought last year in the Milwaukee River. This one was a very close contender for the day, but it fought like there was no tomorrow and it was making my drag scream! I caught them both with a Rapala Husky jerk in silver. I would usually have been fly fishing for them, but my fly rod's tip is broken now.

Heavy Weed Fishing Help
I went out for 2 hours today, I did one hour with a worm and one with a swimbait. I got a strike with the worm, when I dragged it over the pad, but I caught one bass with the swim bait. I tried out all the tips I received and I think they'd all work in their own situations, but the fishing up here has been really bad lately. Thanks for the help guys!

Thanks for the help! I just gotta fill up my tank on the boat and I'll be on my way to try these things out.

Heavy Weed Fishing Help
I just started fishing heavy weeds for largemouth and I'm using a bullet weighted Texas rig. I think I'm doing pretty good with 1 caught bass and 3 other strikes in about an hour. The questions I have is, is it ok if my worm goes over the pads? and if I feel some thumps on my line should I set the hook right away? I just think those are the stems of the pads and my weight reconnecting with my worm.

Accomplished 2013 Goals?
I accomplished catching a bass in thick weeds, did that an hour ago. I still gotta catch a bass on a jig and a spinnerbait and also get my PB LM or SM bass, which ever comes first.

Open Letter To Boat Fisherman
I do my fair share of each type of fishing. Though I've never had any problems while bank fishing, I have had lots of problems while boat fishing. When I anchor down (no trolling motor) at a spot I want to fish, there are always a fair share of pleasure boaters that drive really close to me, sometimes almost making me fall out of my small boat. I have no problem with pleasure boaters, I can be one too, but when you are driving around your boat please take into consideration of those that are fishing.

Fly Fishing For Smallies
My favorite fly for smallies is my own creation, it's red micro chenille as the butt, peacock herl body with gold tinsel ribbing as the body and calf tail wing portion (I guess) it's my favorite wet fly for them.

Fly Fishing For Smallies
Do any of you guys enjoy fishing for smallmouth bass on the fly? What do you use? Do you prefer it to regular fishing equipment? I personally enjoy it more on the fly and I have an Echo carbon rod and an Orvis reel for it, it's a 5 weight combo so I can use it for smallies and trout. Just wanted to see what you all liked more.

Best Smallmouth Lure
Mine has to be a 2 1/2" rattlin' rapala in blue shad. It absolutely killed spawning smallies in door county

How To Catch Warm Weather Smallies?
I fish 2 lakes in Northern Wisconsin in early July. One is moderately clear, with mostly a sand bottom and an average depth of 22 feet. The other is murky, with a mostly sand bottom, an average depth of 8 feet, and a fair amount of weeds. I'm targeting smallies and I would like to know what would seem to be my best bet on catching them on these lakes (like what lures would probably work best, and presentations). Thanks for any replies.
