  1. You are missing the best bass fishing that the piedmont has to offer by skipping winter.
  2. Most of the time that I find a new spot I want to check out, that I am fairly certain some big bass live. I will fish that one spot all day for several days in a row.
  3. Unless it is iced over im on the water. It is going to be 28 tomorrow morning even here in NC and I am still going dont let the cold stop you it is some of the best fishing of the year if you know what you are doing. (oh btw I am from PA so I dont want to hear about me not knowing "real" cold or winter)
  4. 3x Dobyns 807, 3x Shimano Calcutta 400 TE (swimbaits) 1x Dobyns 908, Shimano Calcutta 400 TE (bigger swimbaits) 1x Dobyns 806, Daiwa Lexa 300 (swimbaits)
  5. Dirty Jigs are the only brand I use for swim jigs
  6. I use #6 on just about all my swimbaits whether it is attaching hooks or for line tying on lipped baits and gliders
  7. On all my glide baits I use a owner hyperwire split ring up front. You could use a snap as well but as previously mentioned not that one.
  8. Skinny Bear and Dirty Jigs are all that I will tie on

Seeing as how I live so close to you and fished Fayetteville for a while now since I lived on Bragg I can tell you that if you throw a crappie dirty jig California swim jig 1/2 with a 5-6 inch keitech swing impact fat on as the trailer you will not be able to keep the fish off. If you have any other questions about fishing Fayetteville let me know
  10. Right on, that's my next purchase actually will be a SK and convert it because I have a nasty habit of losing sinkers so I'm gonna make it a heavy floater
  11. How are the largies liking that tiger? If you can keep the ski's off it long enough that is. I'm coming up to PA next weekend to visit might go for an evening and hit up some toothy guys
  12. Nah dude its only a 7" I just grabbed the first 8 I could over $70. I have cast off and lost at least this many too! haha
  13. that rule unfortunately does not hold true for high end swimbaits. Because most of them are so sought most of the time a used lure will be more than a new one, and many cases much much much more.
  14. I would never spend more than $5 for a lure, it outrages me to even think of spending that much money on a stupid fishing lure
  15. While California certainly does produce better fish than anywhere else stateside that doesnt mean they cannot be caught anywhere else. If you want me to throw out a name that is not a Cali guy look up LJ Brasher. He too had over 1000 DD's and that was in the Florida/Georgia area. As far as me personally, I have yet to catch one, although I know of at least 10 or so caught here in NC just this year, and that is just in the small circle of anglers I know of. I have only fished in NC for a little over a year and only began trophy hunting about half that time, and yeah I still have a ridiculous amount to learn. What I do know though is 99% of anglers spend their lives chasing juvenile bass and wonder why they never stick a DD, its because they don't know how to fish for them. If you learn to effectively fish for big bass there is a huge portion of the country where sticking a DD is an extremely realistic goal to set. People always say that Californians have it easy, there are a ton of Cali guys that dont have DD's either once again because they dont know what they are doing when it comes to trophy bass. There are 15+ bass coming out of texas, florida, gorgia, and a few other states with decent consistency. Two lakes that I like to fish here in NC have shocked up 16lbers. Big fish are everywhere, you just have to know how extremely different they are from small ones.
  16. This is completely silly, Butch Brown has over 1500 bass over 10lbs and Mike Long has 30 of the 100 biggest bass ever caught. Learn how to start fishing for adult fish instead of juvenile bass and your odds are really not that bad at all.
  17. Oh and to touch on this he actually forgot a zero its really approximately .0000329 assuming that it is a 1kg bass, and who measured it? Thats simple anyone that knows Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation
  18. I think some people need to go back to physics class and perhaps read some peer reviewed journals on tidal forces
  19. I dont really notice any difference in the magnets between my mg, tourney pro, and super duty, although lately i have been going with the magnets off all the way and I'm liking that a lot better these days.
  20. The way mend it works (which is the glue I use) it actually melts the soft plastic together which makes the joints basically as strong as any other part of the lure. I have used it on other things namely much bigger and heavier soft swimbaits and never had an issue with an area I glued being weak
  21. Alumilite Flex 30 or 40 will do you really well
  22. Yeah Tom that is exactly what I did to get the worm in the picture above, I really dont know why i didnt think of it sooner. I made a few and am quite happy with the results these are exactly what I wanted.
  23. Oh mission accomplished
  24. Yeah I already have the uptons 17" and 19" they are awesome just looking for something different I'm pretty sure they don't exist though haha thanks for the help guys

Tom knows whats up. His 17" and 19" worms are awesome, and the 13" are killer too, he has some really great colors on TW and as Tom said he will do a bunch of other colors
