  1. I know this sounds crazy but there is always this Motor Guide that i see at Wal-Mart that i cannot find anywhere online, its 45 or 55 thrust, definitely 12v and meets all your criteria and i think it goes for $375? Anyway might want to check it out and see if yours carries it
  2. I throw swim baits on the back of a swimjig and i can get that through about anything. Of course there is always the mission fish too
  3. That is definitly not what i said. Maybe i worded it a little funny. But basically I though I had an E. The box said E. So i slapped the reel on without really looking at it. Fished, looked at it later and saw it said G on the reel
  4. This happened to me at Gander Mountain, i asked them if it was a E or G and they said E, the box was even very clearly marked E7 in a few places, so i bought it, fished with it, was extremely unimpressed it didnt come close to comparing to any of my lews and just assumed thats how the reel is. Then I looked at the reel a little closer, and noticed it was the G model. I was pretty upset to say the least
  5. If you are going with 17 flouro i would go with 65 pp, i run that with my 17 and 20 pound flouro. And 50lb pp for 12-15 lbs.
  6. Yeah swimbaits are the ticket, i am not a fan of hollow belly though, i stick to hard or full plastic. Also they definitely work in murky water as well as clear
  7. If the cost is an issue, i would recommend using braid main, with a flouro leader. That is what i do on all of my rods. Also as said by some earlier you can go up in poundage a lot. I start at 15 and go up from there. I fish super clear waters and the fish dont seem to mind one bit. I would also recommend using the San Diego Jam knot. Also it really seems like you have a really bad experience with XPS but i have never ever had a problem with it. Also if you read up on some of the flouro line comparisons it almost always performs on par with the much more expensive lines
  8. Here is link to a PDF it is a good article on this subject http://aqua.ucdavis.edu/DatabaseRoot/pdf/201RFS.PDF
  9. MS Slammer is the ultimate big fish night fishing lure
  10. I throw the 4.8 on a swim jig, that combo is my go to lure actually
  11. I have an old gatorback paired up with a late 80's Shimano Bantam
  12. So today I was throwing a swim jig/swim bait and saw something take my lure, then fight like crazy, i was really excited at first thinking I had caught monster bass, but as it started coming up I saw what it really was. So what all have you guys caught while targeting bass? Here is there video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P74pn6D0sWs
  13. Your best bet with beavers is to get some RTV and make some molds yourself in my opinion
  14. only throw 1/2 once and 3/4 dirty jigs, usually a 4.8 keitech swing fat on the back
  15. I live in the same area as you, what lake where you fishing? I have really been tearing them up lately, all of my catches except one have been 3:30 pm or later though.
