This is a little off the beaten path. I am going shark fishing off the coast of maryland in 2 weeks, I have never fished for sharks before, what does shark fishing entail? Any tips or information anyone can give me would be of great use. Thank-you for your help. Matt

I started dating my wife when we were both 16 yrs old. I started taking her fishing with me then and she still goes with me today, She is not in to it as much as I am but she likes to be out on the boat fishing rod in hand kicking my butt. I am trying to talk her into learning how to use a baitcaster so far she is not really interested in it. But I really enjoy taking my wife fishing and now we take our 5yr old son out togther and make it truly a family affair. Matt

Thank-you for your opinions on the subject now that both starts have come and gone I must say that I am still undecided as to whether or not I am for the new starts. Living in a border county like I do the first opening day was a zoo with people from the neighboring counties coming down and swamping the streams around my town. Also the stream that I usually start in with my son on the first morning was not stocked the local trout club decided not to stock for the new opening day so I had no where to go with my son so for the first time in his life ( he is 5 yrs old) he missed the opening day of fishing with his dad. That was not the state's fault, but I did not enjoy the first starting day this year it was just not the same without my boy. I did not take him to the other streams because it would have been a disaster with all the other people trying to fish. I will be taking him up to a lake that is well stocked with trout here in the near future he can catch his then. Matt

Congrats, I am a father of a 5 yr old. So grandpa is a long way off for me but if it is half as great as being a father, I am looking forward to it. Matt

Depending on the type of snake that is in and around this pond, I would say look for a new place to fish and while you are doing it fish the place that you have. Just use some common sense and you should have no problems with snakes. Now if those snakes have venom in them then go somewhere else and stay away from that pond. Matt

I will have to give espn a grade of "D" also, I was expecting much more live coverage. The stories that they ran during their coverage was very interesting, but it still would have been nice to see more actual fishing. Matt

It is not snowing here in central pa just yet but they are calling for about 3-5 inches with sleet and freezing rain comming right along with it. I was hoping for a good warm up but doesn't look like we are going to get it just yet. My son is looking forward to another day off school, he doesn't realize that he will have to make those days up. :'( Matt

I was not impressed with the coverage this morning on ESPN2 either. I was hoping for much more live coverage. I will watch tonight just to keep up with whats happening. I am rooting for the machine (van d**n), but I would also like to see the g-man win it also. Matt

Natural, thank-you I just showed my wife this post and she walked away with her mouth hanging open and muttering to herself. I will never hear the words you have too much tackle again. How long did it take you to amass such a stash anyway? I am also very impressed with your organizational skills as well. I can not seem to ever find enough time to organize my tackle until just right before I am going to use it.

I am an electrician, so I get shocked on a regular basis. (you never know when someone turns on a breaker when they are not supposed to) so I am very familar with what 120 volts feels like, and it does hurt!! With that said I think I would still allow myself to be shocked one time just for the experience and to be able to say that I did it.

I was looking at the Pa fishing and boating website and I saw that in the 18 counties that are in the southeast corner of the state, trout season will start on march 31. But for the rest of the state the opening of trout season will be as normal in april. Now I am not sure what to think about this idea, so I welcome opinions from other people on what this change might mean to pa trout fishing. There is a real good possibility that the trout streams will be frozen over still by the 31 then what will they do? The more I think about it the less I think I like it. Matt

As of 5:45 pm here in central PA, it was 12 degrees. Wind chill of about -6. Very cold and its about time. Now that its here it can leave at any time. Matt
