  1. No I am not family with cowher. I have been a steeler fan for about 30 years, but the only reason that I knew those stats is that I watched the press conference when bill annouced his resignation and those stats were part of what the announcers were talking about in regards to his carreer. Most of the sports poeple that I have seen on espn and elsewhere since he resigned say that he is a hall of famer right now. I do not know about that but with his stats and the legacy he has left behind I would be very surprised if he does not get in even if he never coaches again. But that will probally not happen I look for him to be coaching in a year or two, maybe in carolina or atlanta both would be close to his new home. I think that he was/is a great coach, and in the future he will be recognized for his knowledge and passion for the game of football. Matt
  2. Not a hall of fame coach? are you kidding me? 15 seasons as head coach 1. 9 division titles 2. 10 playoff appearences 3. 2 super bowl appearences (one win) Show me a coach that has those kind of numbers and is not in the hall of fame, I do not think there is one. That is a very impressive resume as it is not to mention that he could very well come back and add to it with another team. If cowher is not a hall of fame coach who is?
  3. I just read the information on the site that was listed to be checked out. I can not believe that they are comparing fishing to a humanbeing reaching into a apple tree and getting hooked on the hand and hauled up into an unfriendly atmosphere. The people of peta and there ideals never cease to amaze me. If they had there way the world would be over run with animals. I just wonder what they would say if they got there wish and then during a hard winter had to watch some of their animals dying because there is not enough food to eat for all of them? I bet there responses would be very interesting to hear. Matt
  4. That is really cool! My wife and I watch that show every sunday. We both think that it is great they are helping so many people and doing it with great style and compassion. You and your company should be very proud that you have been chosen for this. You will have to tell us what the designers are really like and do they really do the house in just 7 days? That seems to be the buring question, every one that I talk to says there is no way they can build those houses in just 7 days. Congrats, and have a good time doing it. Matt
  5. I really enjoy catching both pike and pickeral. There have been many fishing trips where the bass were not biting but the pike or pickeral have been and my pb for pickeral is 22in, and my pb for pike is 25in. Do not fish for pike as much. Have not been lucky enough to hook into a big one yet. They are both alot of fun to catch and will both jump out of the water almost like a bass as well. Question for you guys, have you ever seen a pickeral with a blue mouth and blue tint to his fins? Caught one the other weekend that looked like he had been rolling around in blue cotton candy and then ate it. Have never saw one like that before. Matt
  6. Living in central pa we have a pretty good variety of fish available to go after. Smallies, largemouth, muskies, catfish, walleye, trout, landlocked stripers, northern pike, and others. So for me some of the other species that I would like to go after would be: Peacock bass, tarpon, redfish, allagator gar, sturgeon, white bass, and really big blue catfish. There are probally alot more if I sat and thought about it but off the top of my head those are my top species. Matt
  7. I agree with jake we need to go back there and try to get another one. As the partner who hooked the fish I can tell you the outer rim of his mouth and his tail were both a bright blue. I think maybe that some of the fins on the fish's belly were rimmed with blue also. Having caught a lot of pickeral over the years I have never saw one with this coloration before. Matt
  8. I agree with Marty everything that he said is exactly what I do when I am fishing for carp. Make sure that you chum the water up pretty good but do not go overboard or the fish will never get to the corn with your hook in it. Also I use a treble hook and load it down with corn then toss it right into the middle of the area that you chumed. Sit back and get comfortable and just watch your line once it starts moving grab your rod set the hook and hang on! Good luck and let us know how you make out. Matt
  9. I am always up for some trash talk about the NFL my team is the defending champs. They are starting off a little slow but that is good for them they always play better when they have to work for it. The QB is starting to play like every one knows that he can and the defense is awsome as always. They will be there at the end hopefully defending there championship and winning another need to start on the other hand now.
  10. I do not have a "good luck charm" per say, but I do carry in my tackle box a lure that my grandfather gave to me when I was little and just learning how to fish. I never use it the lure just sits in its tray and is there to remind me of the lessions that my grandfather taught me. However once I took it out to show it to my son and explain where I got it and it was not put back into the box and on the next fishing trip when I noticed that it was gone my whole day of fishing was shot. I just could not seem to do anything right on that day I missed hook sets and when I did manage to hook one it came off before I could get them to the boat. Once the bait was returned to my box I fished much better. Superstisious or not the facts do not lie. Lure present fish great, lure missing fish terrible.
  11. You are absolutley right about that. Thanks to all the vetrans for giving us here in America the freedom to take our children fishing on a beautiful day like today. It does not get any better than watching your child catch fish on any given day. I thought that fishing with your friends was the best experience in the world until I was able to take my son out and watch him get all excited when the fish bite and then put the fish in the live well and bring it back to shore just to show everyone around that he caught a fish no matter how small it is. Matt May your line never break on a big fish
  12. If money were not an object I would love to go after some Peacock bass. Every time I see a show about them it just makes me want to go down to the tropics and try my luck!!!!!! Matt May your line never break on a big fish
  13. My worst habit is fishing a worm or some other soft plastic bait too fast. I am primarily a crankbait or a bass assassin type of fisherman. I have a real hard time slowing down when the time comes to slow down to fish a worm. Just about the only thing that I have found that slows me down is to sit down. I put the seat onto the front deck and sit down and force myself to slow down. I am sure that sitting is a mental thing and I probally would not need to sit but so far it is all that works. 14. Last summer my boy was 3 yrs old and going to turn 4 in about 2 weeks or so. I had bought him a new rod and reel combo that spring and he would take that out on the boat with me and mom I put a small piece of nightcrawler on it and he just stood up beside me on the casting deck one day and started casting with no previous coaching from me. He would just throw and reel that worm piece and have a ball doing it. He also managed to catch a 1 lb. 7oz. largemouth all by himself I was not even aware that he had a fish until it jumped beside the boat and he was just standing there with his rod bent fighting the fish. We also take toys and food out on the boat as well and that gives him something to do when he is tired of casting. Matt May your line never break on a big fish
  15. A lot of people that I have talked to recently have taken to using rino lining on the inside of their boats. It is non-slip and indestructable, and can be color matched to your boat color. I personally have not used it in my boat I have a aluminum boat but I personally know 2 guys that did the rino lining thing and they love it. 8-) Matt May your line never break on a big fish
  16. 8-) My list would have to be as follows; 1. Shaw Grigsby 2. Roland Martin 3. Orlando Wilson 4. Jimmy Houston Just based on the comedy and enterainment value I have to mention Fish Fishburn they need to bring back Team Grandma!!!!!! Matt May your line never break on a big fish
  17. I had to pick smallies. There is nothing like a smallie slamming your lure and trying to drag you down the river with him!! Largemouth run a close second in my book but for my money nothing beats the smallmouth for pure fighting ability. (at least out of the species that I have caught). Matt May your line never break on a big fish
  18. ;D Way to go Lee, Looking foward to seeing the pic. You will have to tell us what it is like to be a record holder. Not very many of us will ever be able to say that. Great Job!!!!! Matt May your line never break on a big fish
  19. I live in Mifflintown, which is in Juniata County. I fish in the Juniata river, and Little Buffalo State Park, and Pincho State Park. Will probally add raystown, and possibly Howard Lake this comming summer. Am always looking for new fishing partners and locations. I am a diabetic and with the summer heat my sugar tends to bottom out on me if I am not careful so my wife doesn't like for me to fish alone in the summer. ;D 8-)
  20. I am not what you would call a die hard spinnerbait fisherman. There are other baits that I am more likley to throw at any given time. But on the same token I have and will throw spinnerbaits with the right conditions and cover. Some of the biggest bass I have caught are the result of throwing spinnerbaits into the right places at the right time. One of my favorite presentations is to throw it out by some down timber or stumps etc. Then just bring it back with the blades just barely under the surface of the water and when you bump some cover stop the bait for just a split second and hang on!! Nine times out of ten when the bait stops and starts to sink the bass will nail it. There are a lot of other ways to fish the spinnerbait you need to read up on it and just go out there and keep throwing them.. Good-luck and please keep us informed of how you make out. 21. : I had a 18 hp evinrude that was older than the one that you have. I had a water pump problem that sounds like the same thing you are talking about. After the new pump it still ran the same way. My uncle talked to a guy that repaired motors in Canada and he said that there could be air getting into the lines somehow to check them and if nessary replace them, anyway that is what he did and the motor ran just like new, a small leak in one of the water lines was letting in air and messing up the system. Hope this helps you out old man. Good luck and keep me posted on it please. Matt
