This reminds me of the story about an 18.2 lber that was just caught in FL, oh yea that's right that story was BS also. Really why are you wasting everyone's time with this nonsense?

I bought some from a member here a year or so ago, and caught a ton of fish with them. I have a few bluegill and a few of the crappies. Right now they're tearing the bluegill up because of them spawning, I'm hoping for that pattern to last another week or two. I will also add that there's been a few days that they were the only thing that got hit, so with that in mind. That one $20 lure out fished a whole tackle bag full of $10 lures on more then one occasion, you do the math... ETA: What I'm doing with them is fishing them over heavy grass, the bass are liking it to. I just figure it's a parental instinct thing, a bass sees a bluegill this time of year and they'll generally try and eat it.

I ran into what I think is a deal and I'm hoping someone here will have some knowledge about Trojan Batteries. I can get Trojan AGM Overdrives for $85 a piece brand new with a late 2014 born on date. I'm thinking about picking a couple up for my bow mount. The two I'm using now are good but probably 4 or 5 years old, so how much longer are these really gonna last. I thinking I should just jump on the deal, but I have no experience with Trojan batteries. So the question is are they any good or junk??? Thanks in advance for the input...

It wasn't the braid as much as you setting the hook, with today's trebels all you need to do is sweep the rod. The only thing you'll accomplish by actually setting the hook is a lost fish or straightened hooks.

I would ditch the 12s and get yourself two golf cart 6 volt batteries and hook them up in series. I guarantee that they will out last two 12s . I just switched over to 6volt golf cart batteries and they'll last all day on a single charge, actually I've run mine all day and have only been as low as 56% charge at the end of the day. Plus you can charge them both at the same time with a 12 volt charger. Another thing to watch when you hook up two batteries in parallel is it will double the amp output, and in the case of a short it could potentially catch fire and burn your boat up if the wire being used can't hold the combined amps. My boat is an all electric reservoir boat, I travel with two transom mounted 55# thrust that uses 4 6 volt batteries, and while fishing I'm running a bow mounted 55# thrust motor using two 6 volt batteries. Switching over to 6 volt batteries was the best change I've made to my boat...

I've been fishing this particular tournament for the last eight years and all we do is take a 60qt cooler, some G juice a fish tank thermometer and an aerator along with another cooler with a couple bags of ice n it for drinks and to add to the livewell. We have never lost a fish ever, and this tourney is at the end of June and it's generally hot as heck out.

Just take another cooler with ice and add to live well cooler as needed, I've done this many years in a row in a tournament at a local reservoir here. We've never lost a fish, just toss in a fish tank thermometer to help keep track of the temps in the cooler.

I have to agree to agree with the 1542, I have the same boat that I use for reservoir fishing. It's pretty much the perfect size, it's small enough that it still moves good with electric motors but has enough room for two guys to fish comfortably. I do feel that if your going to be putting a gas motor on it, I'd go welded, because I do believe that the beating and banging it will take will loosen rivets and they will leak over time.

Just one of the reasons that I dont buy Zman stuff, I have more then a couple that did the same thing. Everyone keeps asking did you send it back, and the answer is no I didn't send it back. if they can't take the time to do it right the first time shame on them. Zman is more worried about sales then the actual customer that buys their junk. I'm sure they figure if 100,000 people buys chatterbaits and only a couple hundred return them because they're junk they still made a profit, and since they haven't really done anything to fix this issue just proves it. Next time try Siebert outdoors he's a sponsor here and has a first class bladed jig for close to half the price as Zmans junk...

I also see it every day here when people post pictures with a bass laying on the ground in the dirt. That is one of the worst things you can do to a fish..

I picked it up a few days ago, it's almost done getting painted. Then on to decks, carpets and some new trolling motors. This is going to be an all electric reservoir boat.

At some point someone had to put a few bass in there, cause they sure didn't walk there. Maybe the man that created the pond just isn't sure what it was stocked with. I know of some guys that will. At h fish from a local lake and bring them back and release them in a few of the ponds they fish..

X2 on this, I've done it in ponds and the bass explode on them..

I'm not sure what your trying to say here, but if you read all of the post you'll see that this is an all electric boat with 2-12 volt 55# thrust transom motors for travel and one bow mount 70# thrust motor that is in use while fishing. A standard 12 volt battery has 105 amp hours and a 55 at full blast draws 40 amazing hours which equals roughly 2.5 hours of use. My bow mount runs on 2-12s hooked up and n series in the front also, but this has nothing to do with the run time with my transoms

Also to be completely transparent: I ran approx 4hrs with both motors cranked all the way up and the rest of the time was bumping around on about the 2 or 3 power setting.

For all the naysayers I'm darn glad I went my own direction instead of listening to you guys: Ok for the record I purchased 4 interstate GC batteries and a smart charger through my buddy, the batteries and charger was a total of $400 combined. I took the boat out for its maiden voyage with the new battery setup. I left the bow mount folded up all day and ran exclusively on my two 12 volt 55 lb transom mounts hooked to 4-6 volt batteries, just to get an honest evaluation. Also something to keep in mind there was a 5 to 10 mph wind all day, and when I got home and hooked the batteries to the charger, they all still had 71% charge left on them. So if any of you guys are looking to go further and longer with out swapping out batteries try going this route, I spent a total of $420 counting the jumper wire that's needed to run the 6 volt batteries in series. Where as it would've costed me more to go with enough 12 volt batteries to have the same run time. So this is a success and will change my fishing a ton, for the one or two guys who actually said this was a good idea thank you, as for the naysayers next time don't be so quick to tell someone something your not really sure about yourself.

FYI: Next time you get bit by fire ants, WD40 will take the sting away. Sounds crazy, but just give it a shot it works..

A lizard replicates a salamander not an actual lizard which is aquatic, and will destroy bass eggs. These have always been a productive bed bait for me. ETA: I saw you mentioned a salamander, but I just wanted to add that a lizard replicates a salamander and not a lizard.

My brother and I watched a guy pull a 12' Jon boat with an electric motor up to the dock, and I about crapped my pants when I saw him come around the corner on a motorcycle with a boat trailer attached the the back. Believe it or not it pulled it out, he was on a big Yamaha roadstar I think they're called..
