  1. Remove the skirt from a chatterbait and toss a money minnow on there...
  2. There was a whole bunch of XR50s at Dicks today for 3.99, in a bunch of colors..
  3. Much much nicer, and I'm sure you like it better also...
  4. This 80%er was real easy because I was able to use a buddies million dollar cnc mill, but I've done a few others with a jig and a drill press. I'd say it's a fairly easy process if you just take your time and only try and cut a little at a time. As far as the polymer lowers I would suggest you don't go that route, they ALL have issues with them breaking in half right where the buffer tube attaches to the lower. There's not a whole lot of material there so IMO there's no real fix for that problem. The gun in the pic is just over 6lbs as it sits in the pic with an empty mag, kinda feels almost toy like in weight. Oh and no we're not allowed full auto, MD is not the most friendly gun state.
  5. My latest build, it started life as a paper weight or an 80%er that I milled at a buddies shop. The rest is as follows: All assembly was done by Basement Tactical, well by me in my basement. DD lower parts kit Geissele SSA trigger LaRue buffer tube Kit Magpul ACS-L stock BCM M4 Upper receiver BCM Gunfighter mod 4 charging handle BCM BCG BCM KMR 13" hand guard BCM 14.5 ELW fluted barrel (pinned FH makes it 16.1") BCM LoPro gas block Smith Vortex pinned flash hider Magpul MBUS sights Primary Arms micro red dot sight (only until I can afford my Aimpoint Micro)
  6. Thanks for the replies, with the info given here and the few numbers that are stamped on the bottom. It is a MirrOlure, but it is vintage and one of the first that they made (this exact model is no longer made). The glass eyes is a give away, at least that's what I've read. Like I said Ive had it for somewhere between 25 to 30 years myself not counting the time it sat at the bottom of that pond.
  7. This is a lure that I snagged in a community pond about 25 years ago, I've carried it around in different tackle boxes since then, but I've never tried to fish with it. It must be a saltwater lure because of the stainless hooks, at least I'm guessing they're stainless as these are the originals from the day I found it. I beleive that it was clear originally and the color is from its age, like I said I got 25 years ago and who know how long it was at the bottom of that pond. All of the belly hooks are held on with clips and screws, no spilt rings.
  8. Looks decent, but I'm going to say the same thing that WW2farmer said. If it was mine I'd ditch the whole hand guard and get a free float tube, cause that sight will melt to the gas block if you run that thing like I would. If this is something that H&S tactical did, I'd be a little suspect about all their work. A polymer sight on a gas block should be a no no in any gunsmiths book. Also just FYI them NIB BCGs aren't what some guys make them out to be. I run either BCM, Colt or Noveske BCGs only. If you clean your gun after every session you shouldnt realy have a problem. Good luck with it, have you had it to the range yet???
  9. Here is my first try at painting lures, I have a few of these that are doubles and since I don't use them very much, I figured I change the flavor a little. I think they turned out pretty good for a rattle can job. The real question is would you be willing to fish them???
  10. I've seen one and two pounders hit bigger lures then that.
  11. I have a couple Mojo rods, a pitching rod and a spinnerbait rod. Both have been great rods, maybe a bit stiff as mentioned above. But for what I we them for they do great...
  12. Mattslures flat tail blue gill
  13. Yup gold fish will stunt his growth, and could give him parasites that will kill him. If it were me I'd go to the local bait shop and get him some minnows..
  14. Hollow body frog since your in FL and the bass should be nice and aggressive by now.

First thing to remember is you get what you pay for in most instances. When it comes scope mounting options, there are a ton to consider. Most of the real expensive ones are a one piece mount and rings that are gun specific, this is what I have on all of my guns. They are lighter and way more secure then a separate mount and rings setup, but are way more expensive generally over $100. You can pick up a mount and rings for about half of that or less, also you didn't metion what kind of gun this was going on. If this is for a 357 or a 44 mag or any other hand cannon I would suggest to go with a one piece setup, but if it's going on a 22 plinker with little or no recoil cheap will do the job just as good. ETA: Primary Arms has some decent stuff, but it's all Chinese made. I try and keep all of my guns and their accessories US made. I would look at the Leupold options as they are an American company and their customer service is second to none.
  16. To be honest once I heard how they stole the bait ball idea from some little guy and mass produced it. I haven't and will not buy any live target products. With it being so many other great bait companies, I don't even look at their stuff at all. These guys are just one more example of how the little guys gets crapped on...
  17. I have the 110 FX which are suspending, I guess I should've mentioned that.
  18. I knew this question would come up, I used cold tap water. Which where I live is anywhere between 50 and 60 degrees. I would estimate around 50ish or so, probably not to awfully far off of the water temps I'll most likely be fishing them in.
  19. Well last night I decided to fill up a 5 gallon bucket with cold tap water, and check out how my baits suspended. The first one I tryed was a Staysee 90 and I was surprised to see that it floated up pretty quick, so I tryed to add a splitring to the front set of hooks which caused it to slow sink. So then I removed the splitring and put a Norman speed lip on the line tie which also caused it to slow sink. Now my main question is if I'm using 10# flouro will that be enough to keep the bait suspended? Out of all the baits I tryed only the vision 110s truely suspended. The other baits that I tried were 100 pointer minnows, slender pointer, xraps, squad minnow and a few different KVD SKs. All with the same results, thanks in advance for the help...
  20. Just as the title states, what line are you guys using for jerk bait fishing and why? I'm setting up a rod for that purpose and I'm undecided on what line I want. I leaning towards 10# Invisix because it sinks and will help with getting baits down and staying there. I'd like to hear some opinions befor I dump $25 on a spool of line, thanks in advance for the replies...
